Hope you’re right about the glitches getting worked out. Could you ask the techies to take a look at this one if they aren’t already:
One bug that’s really really bugging me so far is Warning:Unresponsive script from Firefox (newest version, on PC running XP professional) about every 30 sec to one minute. It’s interrupted this comment at least 8 times already, and the only keystroke option I have to make it go away is stop script. Oh, and anything I type while it’s hung up gets lost, or any command to scroll just gets ignored.

I suspect it’s the script that adds the updated comments count and link. But it’s making it very, very frustrating to even read through a thread, let alone make a thought-out comment. Frankly, it’s a PITA.

So, if you could put that one in the hopper, I’d really appreciate it.

It looks like he has himself a (well-deserved) place out on the desert with a builtin airport and a Cessna Skymaster to get him in and out.

Wonder if he hangs out at the 29 Palms Inn. Been in the same family for 80+ years, they have a good restaurant, grow all their own organic vegs, have a duck pond and funky cabins spread out on a couple of acres, near the Joshua Tree North Gate.

In fact, I think I remember him playing at a farmers’ market in Redlands, or so, some time within the past ten or fifteen years. My reaction was: “Good God, what the hell is he doing here. That’s the ‘King of the Surf Guitar’”. Apparently he’s a guy who really loves to play his music and is willing to do so almost anywhere. Gotta Luv It.

Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Friedman and Rich in the NYT today. MoDo, in a column titled “O, Brother, Where Art Thou?” says Barack Obama said he’s running for president because of what Martin Luther King Jr. called “the fierce urgency of now.” Now she wonders if the prodigy can muster that fierce urgency. Mr. Friedman says that while the Bush team will leave office having done nothing significant to mitigate climate change, he’s heartened that our country is increasingly alive on this challenge. Mr. Rich says that were Barack Obama to win the Democratic nomination, he may prove harder for the Republicans to rally against and defeat than the all-powerful Clinton machine.

The coffee, tea and hot chocolate are ready, and I just pulled some cranberry and pecan muffins out of the oven. The new kitchen is gorgeous — top of the line appliances and lots of cabinets! I’m slowly getting used to this new way of doing things, although I’ll confess that my older eyes are finding this a bit harder to read than the previous look. Have a grand Sunday.

For you Dick Dale fans out there…I saw a show a few years back when his son was about 5 or 6. Dale brought the kid up on stage to play drums. The kid was a virtuouso!

What a coincidence. Neil Young and the question what keeps me rockin’. Turns out it’s Neil’s other big interest. He’s been heavily involved with Lionel Trains for a long time now. (Would you believe Lionel put out a Greendale train set?)

Anyway, it’s that time of year again when I can get the trains out of the basement and figure out what kind of Xmas village setup to create this year under the tree.
