Speaking of people just talking, reminds me of that great little film My Dinner with Andre – don’t believe it’s out on DVD but could be wrong. Worth tracking down. A gem.

But did you see him saying it? He was laughing. It was like he was thinking he is so clever, and Rose was so stupid, that whatever BS he continues to spew will be gospel. I was delighted to see Card call him on it.

Rove’s arrogance and petulance have set my teeth on edge ever since Bush was the Texas Guv.

Nah. Actually I want to see The Mist. Not usually big on Steven King films, but I read that novella years ago while camping, and it creeped me out completely.

Actually, while reading that story with my back against a picnic table, deep in Maine woods, totally hairraised from tentacles and huge – well, no spoilers here – a darn bold red squirrel was foraging on the table and put his paws on my shoulder and I screamed bloody murder and me and the book and the squirrel all went flying.

As a Mainer, I can promise you’re lucky it was a red squirrel.

I see these warnings from time to time, and when I scroll back through the comments I usually see only familiar handles. Do you ban the sockpuppet before the comment makes it into the thread?

For a movie recommendation, I suggest “City of God”. It is a Brazilian movie (meaning subtitles). However, it is such a great story.

Been meaning to see that for years.

An incredible movie. eCAHN is right – depressing, but very, very powerful (it’s basically a true story).
