Looks like the perfect storm, doesn’t it? This post is in honor of Old Coastie’s success in helping to save California from election fraud.
Repubs know they can’t win a fair presidential race in ‘08, so they were trying to siphon off part of the CA electoral votes. And cheating besides.
If you go to the website of newly elected Secretary of State, Debra Bowen-D, you will see the following exciting language:
1250. (07-0016 Amdt. #1NS) Requirements for Presidential Electors. Statute. WITHDRAWN from Initiatives in Circulation. [egr bold]
Music to my ears! Link for the full text, scroll down.
It all began when Old Coastie [named for her work in the Coast Guard], along with Vikingkingq and PeteB2 from Kos and a few other sharp-eyed observers saw people gathering signatures on multiple petitions in a way that looked suspicious. While ostensibly signing for a children’s cancer hospital [I mean really, how heartless could you be not to support a children's cancer hospital?] people were asked to put their name on ‘multiple copies.’ But these weren’t duplicates, they were other initiatives, with the deception hidden by using rubber bands across the pages.
OC’s Kos diary, pushed up onto the Recommended list by a surge of firepups, has all the juicy details. Instead of just shrugging and doing nothing, OC and others took action by calling officials and demanding to know what was going on. See this FDL comment where she asked pups for help in figuring out the next steps. Word spread, many more people got involved, and they scored one for the good guys.
Loo Hoo found a SacBee article that links the shenanigans to good ol’ Congressman Issa. Who could have guessed? And BradBlog ties the whole thing to the increasingly desperate Giuliani campaign.
So the Repub attempt to steal yet another presidential election, this time by splitting the electoral votes in California, has been thwarted—for now. Still hoping that loosehead and colleagues succeed in keeping New York State from losing authority over its own elections.
Gee, isn’t it amazing that the Republicans don’t want electoral reform everywhere, just the places that could tip the election to them? And even then only thru deception? They can’t win fair and square, so they have to cheat. US Attorneys scandal among sooo many others. Nice party ya guys got there.
But at least one part of the government has escaped being eviscerated by the Repubs, and still works the way it’s supposed to: the Coast Guard performed heroically in New Orleans while so many others did nothing. [Truth in advertising, despite being in a Navy family I'm fond of the them because my brother was in the Coast Guard Band.] Their motto is Semper Paratus = Always Ready.
Coast Guard to the rescue—a toast to our Old Coastie and all who helped! To firepup citizen action!

A toast to Old Coastie!
CTuttle, I borrowed some of your exclamation points this morning for the first celebration of this great news. I’ll have them dry cleaned and returned to you asap, ok?
thanks eg! *ndfg climbs on chair & applauds OC* Firepups here are absolutely the best.
Three cheers for EG and OC!!!
We need more actions like this!
Nice work, OC!
Hear hear, a toast to OC
Hooray for OC!
TexBetsy @ 1
Yea!!!
Wow
I saw some turkey tryin to collect signatures for this asshole initiative just a week ago. I said- “Hell no I’m not signing something to give the election to republicans”! He said- “I’ve got OTHER petitions you can sign”.
Piece a shit!!
many months off, but i think we can still pull this out of the freezer.
egregious @ 7
Keep’em, otherwise I’ll be brow beaten by Suz or RBG… 8-/ *g*
Thanks Christine!

TexBetsy @ 15
Aw, Betsy that is WONDERFUL!
TexBetsy @ 15
Our security desk must have had a bad day today…I’m locked out of Betsy’s pictures. (sigh)
Hear hear old coastie!

Great Job OC—restores my faith in the thin possibility of justice.

When I see what passes for congresscritters in this area- makes my skin crawl.
Issa, Hunter, and my own fascist congressman Bilbray……
Puke inducing.
a toast to old coastie!!
Hell yeah brothers and sisters! We’re just getting warmed up.
Just think – a few short years ago they would’ve gotten away with these tricks with nary a mention in the press, and on election it would be too late.
Damn, this movement is really getting going. So many successes in approx 3 years, and now this. Is this the second time they’ve stopped this tactic? Think about how much money and energy is getting sucked up by these fruitless frights put up by the fruitcakes.
Old Coastie is in da house with the shizzle!
newtonusr @ 32
trumpets on cue.
Here’s to uncommon you, dear OC.
…after looking at these pictures I went straight to the kitchen and made a hot chocolate and toasted english muffin with huckleberry jam….evening everyone!
TexBetsy @ 37
skoal! Old Coastie, you are AWESOME. Tenacious even. It’s a trait i admire.
I must admit, I like that the repugs had to spend a whole lotta money and got stopped by a bunch of DFH’s on some blogs….
very kewl!
OldCoastie @ 26
There you are! WOOHOO!
night spiderpaws.
spidey!
Spidey, it’s been awhile! What’s in the stars for Shrub?
Good work, Old Coastie!
Is there more to this story? Was withdrawal voluntary or forced by the state? Any fraud charges pending or being investigated? Inquiring pups want to know.
OldCoastie @ 42
>:D
Boy oh boy I’m glad this is dead (for the moment).
You know, all this fighting for the Constitution has certainly built up our democratic muscles.
Who was it that said “a strong leader makes a weak people?” We’re proving the opposite is true also.
OldCoastie @ 42
That Rawks! Power to the People…!
yellowdogD @ 47
the proposal was resubmitted under a different number (with the same text) and is still pending. The good news is they have to start collecting a new batch of signatures and there is no possibility it will qualify for the June ballot (which is what they wanted). We will have to keep an eye on their efforts but I’m thinking the chances of passing anything (or even qualifying it for a ballot in November) went WAY down.
Great news, OC! Thanks so much for your efforts on our behalf. Onward and upward…
punaise @ 28
OK, punaise, I take back what I said after punning on Snarkassandra’s blogger alter-ego and speaking in LOL cat. You’re not always better at this than I am. Just most of the time.
FunnyD
Ms. Paws! Long time.
OldCoastie @ 26
Hurray! Thanks to OC!
oc, yeap, they withdrew it with plans on doing it for november, but that won’t help their plan to steal this presidential election’s electorial college votes.
sleep time.
hasta mañana
pain free sleep wishes tex
Hopefully by November, no one will want the initiative.
nite, Tex…
g’nite TB and g’nite all.
Sleep well, Betsy and Laura!
have to go to bed for early am haircut. I may be a Pup, but i’m tired of looking like a sheepdog. Dang. And it’s been too long since i’ve been on the same thread as Spiderpaws!
a last BRAVO to OldCoastie, and i’m off to join the bedcats. G’night all y’all.
TJ @ 59
I would say that WE now have the initiative.
OldCoastie @ 26
Hey you, great work! Great news! Woot!
OT the WGA has just received an offer from AMPTP that actually includes rollbacks
tp://unitedhollywood.blogspot.com/
egregious @ 64
LOL!
yep
egregious @ 64
I like that!
I want to thank Jeebus and Old Coastie. I am so proud of you and happy.
TJ @ 59
If it fails for June, I don’t see them pumping bucks into it beyond that… The legal system would have plenty of opportunities to smack it down by the time 2012 rolls around…
I am a bit puzzled by all the money they announced raising in the last couple of weeks… wonder if that was real?
OldCoastie @ 42
OC, EG, FirePups!
Very kewl.
But it was a bunch of DFH’s and maybe neo-DFH’s that got organized on blogs, but then put down the Cheetos, changed outta PJs, left the basement and went out and DID something. And then came back and said something, and then went back out and did some more, etc. etc.
My hat is off to OC and everyone who helped short-circuit this dirtiest of dirty GOP tricks yet again. Aren’t they now _really_ running out of time to get signatures, even if by some miracle there were volunteers to go do it for free?
I love it when the high and mighty trip on the netroots and fall flat on their ugly faces!

OldCoastie @ 71
the tie in to rudy rudy rudy was something that should still be looked into
OldCoastie @ 51
We have to keep an eye on them indeed.
This is so true for each and everyone of us until the day each of us die. We also need to make sure the next generations know this as well.
Since humans ever started forming social units, there have been some that let their greed overcome the good of the whole, and that’s all the modern day Fascists, might as well just say Republicans, are all about.
It’ll become much easier as more and more people start waking up. Your efforts help swing the pendulum that much faster. Tally ho!
OldCoastie @ 71
A viable candidate, or initiative, needs subjective support. How much credence does the “voting public” give to a candidate who leads in fund raising?
OldCoastie @ 71
Could have been another lie, to give the illusion of momentum. Or they could in fact have brought in a lot of money because they were scared their little plan was coming unglued, and wanted to hurry and finish up.
Never, ever mess with the Coast Guard.
bonkers @ 77
nope. military folks take their oath to defend the constitution seriously.
…been reading all the astrological whiff whaff on the candidates trying to make sense of it to see who will get the nomination…sure doesn’t look like Rudi… aspects are very good for the middle east talks with this one little window during the late fall so if there’s a will there’s a way…then there’s the Pluto/Jupiter conjunction in Sagitarius coming up in less than two weeks and no one can say with any certainty what will happen with that however they ALL agree it will be big – on a global scale as well as personal…jupiter is in the last degrees of sagitarius before it enters capricorn so be prepared for a couple weeks of over the top religious or fundamentalist fanaticism as the planet of expansion moves out of the sign of expansion into an earth sign, thank heavens because global warming will really take center stage.
BlackBoxVoting.org has also had some great success against Diebold and the like in California and elsewhere. We’re turning the corner!
Suzanne @ 78
Got that right, Ma’am! 8-)

i’m sure judith’s desires to be another nancy raygun had a lot to do with rudy rudy rudy’s running.
OldCoastie @ 71
I just got here and want to express my congratulations and deep appreciation on a fine piece of work. You may have prevented a major national disaster, such as a Guiliani presidency. (shudder)
… I second that wigwam
With Rudolfo taking her calls at the podium they do seem like one unit. I guess that would be a RudyRudyRudyJudyJudyJudy.
wigwam @ 93
If he gets nominated I personally know people who will be either dropping out of school or leaving their jobs to work against him. He would be a class A catastrophe.
…of all the charts of the candidates on both sides, Huckabee seems to have the finest aspects
…we can beat rudy doncha think? better he gets it than Huckabee
i think rudy will be easier to defeat in the general than huckabee
I think a very strange race would be Edwards vs Huck… very strange indeed…
egregious @ 96
I have friends who’d try to make it to Canada before they close the borders.

But of course. He is goD’s candidate after all. We all know the Cloud-Being is a Republican. Oh, and a Lakers fans also.
spiderpaws @ 97
That’s what has me concerned… Gah, another one from Hope! Something in the water there?
….Huckabee seems pretty clean…is there no dirt on him?
all right you all… I must sleep – kindergarten Friday tomorrow requires all my energy…
thank you, eg!
btw – give yourselves a pat on the back – if you all hadn’t recommended up the diary at DKos, this would have been much less spectacular…

apparently, he loves money the way Bill loves girls…

It’s gonna be Mittmo.
It’s basically because he and the fam are the cutest. Republicans, males especially can’t overcome that. They have this strange attraction to them, and things like issues and dog killing just go to the wayside.
Mittmo and Fred “Tommy” Thompson as his VP. That’s who we’re gonna beat.
Mahalo, OC, Aloha!
OldCoastie @ 105
Good night, hero!
Yes about the diary, but you *wrote* it and you are the one helping make this all happen. Kudos!
…but will he do anything for it?
didn’t huckabee claim to lose all that weight through non artificial means (like stomach stapling surgery)? why lie about a little thing like that – i think he may have some vanity weaknesses. and i remember a buncha stuff ES had to say about his and his misses and their goings on with the governor’s mansion (can’t remember the details)

He’s good at projecting concern, caring, etc.
So’s my dog.
I can’t see him as a leader at ALL. Nice guy chart or no, I don’t see him able to wrestle with tough problems.
I was reading the Freeper board tonight on this subject. One of them said his “fair tax” would just make it flat impossible for those barely making it to keep afloat.
Praise about political effectiveness from ET is high praise indeed.

We’ve had the warmest November in about eight years – that year we had garden broccoli for T-Day. The ice on the lake is just getting thick enough for me to skate. They’re sharpened. But I’m meeting in the morning with some accountants, to go through their excel spreadsheets on how Don Young has moved funds in and out of legal defense accounts since 1998…
Oh Lord it’s hard to be humble
I think whoever the R’s nominate, I’m just going to sing this when his name is mentioned. ;-]
spidey, we are planning another meetup maybe in late january – just so ya know…
Ed*ard Teller @ 144
Well, don’t let Young skate. Time for him to go.

Sorry about the not sold thing. Glad you’re getting a break from being show-ready.
It’s slow up here, too, my friend’s condo in the same complex isn’t even getting showings.
Hope you make it up here sometime in the near-ish future. I’m in Seattle and have an aunt in Portland, so roadtrips can work.
Oh, Dog, just looked at the weekend outlook for here. Oh, piss, it’s going to be cold. Maybe I’ll just stay in bed.

Wow, George Will really needs to read a history book… He seems to be rewriting it tho…
“The seeds of this weed were sown in 1993, when Congress passed a tendentious apology for supposed U.S. complicity — which was neither clear nor essential — in the peaceful 1893 overthrow of Queen Liliuokalani’s monarchy by Hawaiian residents. The novelty of America apologizing for a monarch’s fall was followed in 2000 by a Supreme Court ruling overturning a Hawaiian law that excluded everyone except Native Hawaiians from voting in a statewide election for trustees of a state agency.

I don’t care if it WAS peaceful. Decent people do not just walk into someone’s home and say “ok, I’m in charge now, and you’re just nobody…” And descendants of those people to get huffy about an apology made by descendants of more decent people is just obscene.

More or less, so, but she personally pleaded with her Soldiers not to intercede. She insisted that Cleveland would see the inhumanity of it and rectify it… To Cleveland’s credit he did remove the Envoy, but, was lost the ‘94 elections and was prevented from restoring her Sovereignty!

I think that it’s critical to keep an eye out for this as they have resubmitted it and have another organization providing cover for it…one called CalCounts.I don’t know if this is a different group than the one that Tony Andrade, Jr, was running.
Interestingly Andrade posted something to the Republican Right-Wing FLASHREPORTwith this email dated from yesterday (Nov. 29th 2007) whining a bit about how Big Oil and the national political campaigns should donate money that would help them defeat the Democrats in 2008.
So much for this not really being an effort to elect Republicans and just being “fair”.
Here’s his email (in all its grammatically-correct splendor)
What could be more important that electing a Republican to the White House in 2008?
If so, where are the self made capitalists who love the economic policies of Ronald Reagan. Are they waiting for the crocodile to eat them last!
Where is their support for the Electoral Reform Initiative?
ElectoralReformCalifornia.com is the website.
Hillary said she wants the six billion profits from the Mobil Oil Company to give to the poor and the illegal aliens.
Big Oil has produced no heroes. Big Oil like a anything else “Big” is composed of nondescript corporatists. Too afraid to anger the Democrats, too afraid to lead. They are shaking in their cowboy boots.
Congressman Darrell Issa is the exception he has put his money where his mouth is.
Howard Dean, Democrat Chairman, made it absolutely clear in his comments: “The eventual Democratic nominee can’t win the White House without ALL of California’s 55 electoral votes.
Here is the chance to stand up and be counted.

Supposedly, at the conclusion of the Soviet Congress after Stalin had consolidated power, there was a long, long, long, long, long standing ovation for the First Secretary. They kept clapping, looking toward each other. Who would be the first to stop?
That is the greatest news, Old Coastie! now we just have to keep checking under rocks and other nasty places to make sure more skullduggery isnt happening! My brother was in the Coast Guard too, many years ago.

What part of Portland? My aunt’s in NE, near the Lloyd Center/Rose Quarter.
Bet it’s colder there than here, with the wind coming down the Gorge. Brrrrr.
FunnyD
I am sorry you havent had luck selling your home in the woods, I cant imagine having to keep a place ready for visitors on a daily basis– had to do it for about 2 months in OR before coming here and it was hell! for me anyway. So good you get a holiday break from it. maybe much better in 08. for your house and everything else too.
Nanz @ 186
Is there no cable or internet radio you can get. In addition, maybe one of the local college stations needs help creating an alternative news or Public Affairs program. But let me warn you…once you get involved in alternative media it’ll take over your life!
cinnamonape @ 191
Ok, now you’re tempting me to read the foul drivel for myself.
But of course the USG should decide who is Hawai’ian and who they should want for their leader! Primitive, uncivilized brown people who don’t wear proper clothes can’t possibly know or decide these things, after all.
So, is George F going to say next that black people in the US don’t get to decide whether or not they’re African American?
And how stupid do you have to be to start an essay with a quotation from a forking NAZI?!!! Wonder if he’s going to pull a Pope Benedict and whine how nobody’s listening because they’re making a big deal about a quotation that wasn’t really part of the message, boo forking hoo. Although the backlash from Hawai’ians is unlikely to be as loud and global as that the Pope got from Muslims.
FunnyD
Suz,
Last year when we took the house out of the MLS for the holidays, we immediately had 2 calls to see it. We couldn’t say no to any chance, so we had crash cleanings. They didn’t buy, but we couldn’t take the chance of missing it.
With all the financial stuff in your stars, maybe you ought to be prepared.
thanks, nanz. i figure it will happen when it is meant to happen. in the mean time, i’m enjoying having some dirty dishes in the sink and my bed unmade. i’m not even gonna freak that my laundry hamper is getting full (and perhaps even slightly ripe). nope, i figure i earned these 6 weeks off and i’m gonna put my feet on the coffee table and forking enjoy some down time :)
FunnyD, we were in Woodburn about 30 miles down the road.
I have been streaming the KPOJ — had listened so knew it was there. Trying to pick where to start on the alternatives has been daunting. There is quite a bit to choose from.
TJ @ 197
i’ve gotten quite good at doing the ohmystars one hour or less warning hurry up and clean for a showing routine.
only call i’ve had was from another agent trying to hustle me to sign with her – i politely let her know that i was very happy with my agent and still under contract. i’ve learned those magic words will stop the hustle for new business.
Cinnamonape, any recommendations?
Scary thought on Amy Goodman’s Democracy Now! today: Guest named Klare said that most of the oil in the global “north” has essentially been used up, and most of what remains is in the global “south”.
Iraq is therefore, a harbinger of things to come as the United States, Russia, Europe, and China (The Global North) fight to control the remaining oil in the “Global South,” i.e., Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, Venezuela, etc.
A series of global wars over oil, anyone?
Bob in HI
bob in hi, that ties in with the concerns about peak oil.
oh, good grief! I’m all awake thinking about the old CG days… here’s a video of a young woman who is either a air crew member or a rescue swimmer about the rescue of a baby she did during Katrina…
I think there were 3 women, back in the day, who were driving boats… maybe 5 women total in the 1st District who were Boatswain Mates…maybe a couple more who were engineers… I doubt its any easier today, but hopefully it’s not so surprising.
One thing about Coasties, we gotta lot of heart for the job…
This amendment is not necessarily bad, but it is really fucking stupid if only certain states would allow it, especially if only those states which vote primarly one party. In my opinion, electoral votes should be split in either all states or no states.
Or hey, dump the electoral college altogether and just allow for a popular election.
OldCoastie @ 204
great video, oc, thanks.
I laugh now at how young we all were… ‘prolley helped to be invincible.
if not invicible, certainly more limber (laughing)
i keep thinking no progress has been made and then your comment and video reminded me of just how much we progress we women have made. in my generation, women went from being expected to be nurses or teachers or stewardesses to cops, firefighters, rescue swimmers and pilots. still not equal but dang, oc, there sure has been progress.
when i joined the pd, i wasn’t the first woman but i was still not the traditional cop hired. yet when i left, more women were getting hired than ever before and there was no hint of any those old prejudices and preconceived notions. twas nice knowing the next person to get my locker in the locker room never had to worry about opening it and finding a pig head in it.
yup, Suz – its come a long way… when I went in the CG, there were women but they all were in “traditional” rates (jobs). I was supposed to go to electronics school, but having grown up on and in the water, one day on the small boats in boot camp and I was hooked.
never got a pig head but had a lot of work sabotaged… I was lucky – had a “sea daddy” who was a trainer and had access to boats on my off days who taught me on the sly and the toughest little kick yer ass sea mommy who never cut me any slack…
I was the skinniest, scrawniest little thing but, when I made rate, ended up with crews who would go to the ends of the earth if I asked… small boats wasn’t bad.
Things were not so good when I went to the cutter – that was a whole different world.
Prolly next petition won’t have Issa’s fingerprints quite so in your face. Pity the creep has so much money.
Good work OC and others!
When I watched the YouTube, I thought, “that girl is going to watch this when she’s 40 and wonder how she ever did those things?!”
Once in awhile we’d do a real hard rescue, get everything all put to the pier, get back to the base and then we’d look at each other and wonder out loud, “how the hell did we ever do THAT?”
it was a mystery to us… and probably had a lot to do with dumb luck.
yellowdogD @ 47
Inquiring that day and today. Thanks for asking.
i hear ya, oc. my first tour (3 years) up in detectives was a real eye opener into the world of how its played by the big dogs. went back to patrol after doing my time up there with a whole new appreciation for patrol.
got tempted back up there by an offer from high high brass with the incentive that i would be doing the dept a favor if i went back up and a week later, i was wanting out again. too many micro-managers and career paths interferring. when that tour was over, i was so happy going back to patrol on the night shift – when all the suits were outta the building.
I don’t know what or if the AG has anything planned for Mr. Issa.
Hey all. First, congrats & my gratitude as a Californian to OC!
But so and so… now I’m all confused — the withdrawn ballot petition, is it really all over? Or is c’ape saying it just been replaced with another version of the same thing?
Hmmm.
Joining you late, or, rather, early.
Remember that Friday well. Actually, it was a day and a good part of the evening here on the Older coast where the BlueState is. With Old Coastie in the lead, boy were we pups pumped here at the Lake and on KOS. But none so pumped as Old Coastie.
What a good way to start the day. Thanks for the post.
OldCoastie @ 214
I hoping for a 10 letter word beginning with I and ending in ndictment.
g’morning bluestateredhead.
staying away from “command” was always a good idea… they put me in a PR position one summer (down at the America’s Cup in Newport, selling the new marine sanitation device regulations) because I was a good “ad” for the modern CG (HA!)… dress uniform every day…. felt like I coulda been selling shiny automobiles at the car show…
I didn’t care for it. I had literally thousands of hours out on the water doing search and rescue and they wanted me to be a show girl?
uh, no thanks.
Funnydiva2002 @ 169
Gotta place this in historical perspective. The Spanish-American War in 1898 got us into the Philippines, and Hawaii’s half-way there. The Hawaiian Monarchy was overthrown in 1893 and from that time to 1898 was declared a “Republic.”
The Philippine Revolution against Spain began in April of 1896. But the interesting role here that needs a bit of study is Teddy Roosevelt. Per wiki:
Enough. Time for bed!

Hmmm – the way it was set up (long before yesterday’s withdrawal) was the initiative was resubmitted (exact same initiative with a different number and different dates) with the signatures for it due… I’d have to look, but I think it is late February and could qualify the initiative for the November ballot…
Will they continue? I don’t know – we will have to watch for them. They were shooting for June because they figured it would be a low turnout election and it would have a half a chance… even if it did make the November ballot (and remember, they have to start collecting signatures all over again), it seems likely that there would be a giant Dem turnout which would put the whole thing in the ground.
But we will keep an eye on it.
time for me to head off to bed myself. g’nite all and see ya for late nite tomorrow nite
Ed*ard Teller @ 129
Looking forward to the day soon when there will be a similar post in your honor. With one difference, at least. I guess you don’t want to become ET. Which leads me to ask if it does not do any harm to a great handle, why this name.
In any case, keep up the good work on behalf of we pups in the lower 48.
night, Suzanne – I’m going to try again to get a little shut eye.
Thanks for explaining, OC. I happenstantially am watching the end of a vampire movie right now, the parallels are all too obvious; yes, let’s be DAMN sure to keep this one in the ground. Full stop. As it were.
Suzanne @ 218
g’morning to you too Suzanne. I still get tears-in-the-eyes-happy when remembering that you thanked me for being the bridge between the Lake and the Kos and more generally by the actual fact of that day’s citizen action flowing between two instances of my browser, two sites, and that little bunch of us.
I am still catching up. Has anyone provided a link to an article explaining the nuts and bolts of the withdrawal, or whether anyone got caught
redhanded?redclipboarded? While dolling out the thanks. Let’s here it for the student journalists at the UCs who put it in their papers, too.
‘Nite, all. Sweet dreams.
BlueStateRedHead @ 226
dollingdoling. sorry. and now to work.I havent had time to read the whole thread yet, but I was very excited to see the withdrawal. However, I’m not sure this is the end of it.
The “Presidential Reform Act” initiative is still circulating.
See this link. http://www.sos.ca.gov/election…..j.htm#1268
Late late to late late, but I just want to say, WAITAGO OC and all!!
This is great news and great citizen action to SAVE OUR COUNTRY.
Sorry for shouting, I know it is morning now.
I think rxbusa is right. 1268 is the number of the initiative that features the rubber-banded hidden copies under the kid’s cancer initiative. 1250 is the already withdrawn effort that was going on earlier this year. As far as I can tell on the California secretary of state’s site, 1268 is still alive.
Even later…
WAY2GOALL!!!
(And unfortunately, REMEMBER THIS as the kind of crooks we are up against if u ever wonder why we have to “mean up” as Progressives).
