Mead is clearly a shill for the Israel lobby. His criticisms of the book, starting with the rhetoric over “extraordinary” and “uncritical/unconditional” are a dead-giveaway. He nitpicks minor things and tries to make them into major things.

Walt and Mearsheimer put their finger right on the most vulnerable spots in US/Israel relations, and the establishment has, predictably, fought back with a total lack of integrity.

There is no reason whatever for crazy right-wing nut-jobs in Israeli politics to be running US foreign policy, but that’s exactly what’s been happening for many years now. Walt and Mearsheimer just make that fact plain. And like any worm that doesn’t like being exposed, the right-wing nutjobs are fighting back.

My own sense is that these crazy people in Israel and the US will not be satisfied until the entire Middle East is molten, radioactive slag. Then, there’ll be nothing left to fight about.

These totalitarians should have stayed marginalized..but we let them take power and keep it, and now, they have so much money invested with both dems and the GOP that wresting power from them will be extremely difficult, which is the ultimate point of Walt and Mearsheimer’s book.

Israel gets 100% plus of what they ask for demand from our gov’t., and even such sold out puppets as Abbas & his coterie of corrupt bagmen will have a hard time accepting the little shreds of historic Palestine (piece of the remaining 22% not yet taken over by the Jewish minority) they’ll be offered.

History reflects that Israel has taken land when war has been made on them. News flash: They aren’t giving any more land back to Arabs and/or Palestinians.

The Saudis and Jordan and Egyptians (and all the other Arab states)have not taken a thumb out of their ass ever to make peace efforts in the Middle East, and their monarchs have been raping the vast majority of their people who live in squalor and get no education for years ala the Arafat model where his pig of a wife brokered funeral rights for about $25 million to shop rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris and Arafat squandered every golden opportunity to advance his people in the direction of peace and education.

While there have been rare Israeli right wing assasins, there is not a cottage industry nor are there any Israeli suicide bombers who go to cafes or weedings and blow everyone up.

Hamas, Iran, and Syria are overtly dedicated to wiping out Israel. Iran is closing on a nuclear bomb and Commander Moron and his side kick “shop the upper east side competently because that’s all I know how to do” Rice can do nothing to stop it and will have no efficacy whatsoever in the Middle East unless death and instability is your benchmark.

As to Rice’s future jobs, I wouldn’t deem her competent enough to take tickets at Disney Land. If Stanford takes her back they are simply stupid and whoring for right wing money.
