Jane, it was great to see you on C-Span this morning. You handled yourself well–a more moderated tone than when blogging. I would have been tempted to react snarkily to some of those callers.

I’ve finally risen from the dead, only to face Bobo in the NYT. It’s Bobo and Krugman today. Bobo says that someday Rudy Giuliani will look back on this moment and wonder why he shelved one of his core convictions and didn’t run as himself. Mr. Krugman calls his column “Banks Gone Wild,” and says the subprime crisis and the credit crunch are the result of our failure to effectively reform corporate governance after the last set of scandals.

http://mgpaquin.wordpress.com/

I trust you’re all on your second cups of coffee by now, but I’ve got beverages and English muffins to share. Have a great day, and enjoy those turkey sandwiches with stuffing and cranberry sauce. I know I will!

Q distinction between dem and repub party, repub less government free enterprise, qualifications not quotas, prolife, dems more for people, please comment on free enterprise system, what this country stands for

Jane–I am a business major, i actually do agree with you about free enterprise and smaller govt wrt contractors. How can repubs watch whats happening and rationalize. Biggest expansion of govt spending in this repub administration. Security complex enormous no-bid contracts operate outside free enterprise to cronies. Repubs in crisis, people believe in lower taxes in smaller govt seen that betrayed by those in charge.

Q libertarians role
Jane, not sure they’ve engaged in the conversation much but aligning themselves with us

Q he is in entertainment industry. question solutions to writers strike
Jane–we’re been very involved. fair share of online media where new revenues for studios. consolidated 5-6 hands. encouraging that big producers agreed to go back to table on 26th
Rallying cry for labor unions of all kinds. Writers looking at selves as trade union, bring unions forward as campaign issue. Consumers will come down on side of writers 69% who are aware support the writers. In this conflict we’re seeing people watch studios exhibit same kind of coporate greed as running rampant in country last 7 years
