“The banks have had their candidate in this race,” Donna says, as the names American Express, Bank of America, Chevy Chase Savings, Citicorp, Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and Wachovia scroll up the screen — all supporters of Congressman Al Wynn. Wynn voted for the Bankruptcy Law that requires homeowners to prioritize their credit card debt even over their house payment.
“More than 700 homes have been foreclosed in Montgomery County, Maryland, and Prince Georges County has the highest foreclosure rate in the state.”
“When it comes to looking out for families and finances, Al Wynn is on the wrong side.”
Support Donna Edwards for Congress here. Her primary is twelve short weeks away.

Have told people downstairs about new post…
Hi Teddy
Great post Teddy. Very clear!
where’d they all go?
Great vid, good job Donna!

No comments while folks are listening and then digging the post…
OT From Townsend’s resignation letter:

Anyone who could write literary fellatio like this after 7 years of the most disastrous Presidency in our history should not be trusted with sharp objects let any serious responsibility.
Hugh @ 8
Fran must have been smoking something pretty good when writing that.
I hope Donna Edwards crushes Al Wynn. Does Maryland have a sore loser law? I hope Maryland isn’t like Connecticut, where they allow people like Slummy Joe to rise from the dead.
That’s an excellent ad. Hits all the right notes.
I’ve donated to Donna Edwards’ campaign and would like to give a suggestion or two to her campaign team.
Her passion and ability to inspire when talking about the issues are second to none. Capture that on camera. Have some documentary-type footage as she talks to a group. This ad was very boring and uninspiring. You’re asking people to change from the status quo, and that is not easy. You’re going to have to wake them up, and Donna can do that…if you let her.
Also, lose the cue cards. You clearly see her eyes reading. This is a huge mistake. Everything I’ve ever seen from Donna Edwards has been absolutely amazing. Let her shine and do not over-manage her. America needs Ms. Edwards (in higher office than House of Reps IMO).
Now this is more like it!
The Federal Reserve reported Tuesday that it expects slower economic growth and a slight bump up in unemployment next year due to the housing slump and a credit crunch. The board also said, however, that it thinks inflation will remain moderate.
Hugh:
Talking about fellatios: Fran Townsend was probably having a real (and not a literary) orgasm when she wrote that.
The “American Dream”: Foreclosure? “Morning in America”, from the GOP.
Joe Klein’s conscience @ 9
You know, as so frequently happens, we forget that these people really mean this pathetic crap! There actually are people out there that still think highly of this president, that still think the Iraq “war” was justified. Hell, some fools think that there are or were WMD in Iraq and that there was a relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Although I have a hard time hiding my disdain for that attitude, at the same time I frequently fear that we will greatly underestimate this attitude. My greatest fear is that the Rethugs will win due to our underestimation of their naivete and ignorance.
OT – but before the DoD union workers get laid off because the mean Congress won’t give the Boy King his warmongering fun money, all contractors should be laid off.
This threat of furloughs is such BS!
And, the wounded troops who got sign-on bonuses and didn’t finish their tours are receiving notices to return their sign-on bonuses.
Again, what has become of my country?? :(
I just got home from the grocery store where I passed up on buying a cardboard flavored turkey this year. Think I will send that money to Donna right now so she can beat that ol’ Wynn turkey right out of office. Great ad and what an excellent speaker.
Just did and it felt soooo good.
Foreclosure? To all you ‘foreclosurees’, you can perhaps take comfort in the knowledge that our present prez never met a debt, he had to pay.
Best political advertisement I’ve seen this cycle. Best wishes to Donna Edwards.
The sad thing about all these foreclosures is that renters who have paid their rent on time have also been thrown out when their apartment buildings go into foreclosure because of a rogue and/or unscrupulous landlord who has defaulted on the mortgage. And some of these are middle-class renters with families…

US War Contracts Top $25 Billion: Study
from CommonDreams.org
US contracts in Iraq and Afghanistan more than doubled from 2004 to 2006 to over 25 billion dollars but government oversight of the firms involved has slackened, a watchdog group said Monday. “While the billions of dollars involved and the complexity of these war-related contracts has only grown, the lack of oversight has been staggering,” said […]
ok guys, I have something off topic but it’s very important
THE ADMINISTRATION IS DELIBERATELY TRYING TO BREAK THE ARMY
Oklahoma kiddo @ 15
and, i think, bill clinton’s “Financial Services
deregulationModernization Act of 1999″ that repealed the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933.In the short run it’s obvious the solution to our dismal economic situation involves five key requirements. Elect a Republican prez (twice), cut taxes, print money, raise credit card limits, and start another war. What could be simpler?
Boo
Boo
That is like total mudslinging.

I wish the Dems would highlight stuff like this more. They have nothing to lose.
Joe Klein’s conscience @ 28
When W gives his State of the Union and, inevitably, says the Union is “strong,” the Dem rebuttal should give these specific examples of “strong” in Bush’s America.
Jane’s upstairs…
Joe Klein’s conscience @ 28
they want to break the army, they want to have an excuse to use blackwater, they want to make us entirely privatized
it’s the freidman doctrine, they want anacrchy, they want government for the profit of profiteers, they want no middle class, no government services, they want robber baron economics
they want to break our armed forces, this they’ve wanted from go
Funny I just canceled one cc due to service issues and after being told that the wait for a customer service rep on the other is “over 10 min” I am thinking of canceling all of them except my little old credit union card
Al Wynn??? OK!
As if all that weren’t loathesome enough, Al Wynn voted against Net Neutrality. This was just another gift to the corporatists. Check out Matt Stoller’s report regarding Wynn’s contributions from the cable and telco industries.
Oklahoma kiddo @ 15
Meanwhile Wall Street firms are planning to pay out generous Christmas bonuses.
Something is a little out of whack.
