I caught the Ron Paul interview on CBS Face The Nation this morning. I think I’ll celebrate Veterans Day by making a $$ contribution to his campaign…Support the troops!

Watching CondoTanker explain Pakistan to the rabble presently. She seems to be shaking her head “no,” less today - does that mean she is lying less, or has she been learning how to overcome her “tell.” When George asked Condom about Mush’s legitimacy in relation to how he has manipulated the court, through firings and appointments, that sustains his position, it sounded like he was describing the President of the Failed Nation to my south (I’m in British Colombia).

There’s seems to be a real problem with flies at the Crawford White House West. I’m not surprised as I’ve noticed that flies tend to be attracted to Crap!

Personally I think that Darth Cheney and the First Fool are watching the situation in Pakistan very closely, not because they give much of a hoot. They are looking for pointers on how to do it when they “need” to impose martial law in the USA. You know, see what works for Bushareff and learn from any mistakes he makes.

Today is Remembrance (Veterans) Day in Canada.

OK kid, does this mean November 11 doesn’t mean anything in the USA anymore? Not a holiday?

University of Florida recognizes both. When I was at University of Alabama, I think they recognized both, as well, plus Confederate Veteran’s Day, which was the compromise that got MLK Day to be a state holiday.

When did Veteran’s Day quit being Armistice Day? And what did Memorial Day start out as?

Don’t recall when the Armistice Day to Veterans Day change occurred but it may have been when they morphed Memorial Day, Washington/Lincoln’s B’days (President’s Day) and Columbus’ B’day from the actual days originally observed to the closest Monday.

I believe Memorial Day has always been Memorial Day since it was first established to honor those killed during the Civil War.

Remembrances of past. November 11, 1979, playing “Last Post and Revellry” on trumpet for the Fallen Heroes who died in North Africa and are buried in Bhenghazi, Libya.

Dec.2,1979, American Embassy in Tripoli bombed as Gaddafi allied himself with Ayatolla Khomeini at the fall of the Shah of Iran.

28 years later is Musharref the new Shah?

Good Morning Everyone.

I love your everyday flag selise.

Thanks for the reminder. I must go refresh the poor scraggly yellow ribbon at the end of our driveway again. And maybe put up a fresher flag - although, embarrassingly, it was made in China, and the colors have held up better than the big fancy flags bought by the township trustees.

Then I must replace the almost totally whitened (age, not abuse) ribbon and “Support the Troops. Bring Them Home.” sign in our car window. Somehow, for me it’s been more eloquent as it faded color, serving as a strong reminder that this odious fake “war on terrah” drags on and on and on, with no end in sight.

20060120 can’t come soon enough for me.

Thank you Julie for the bright spot today. Those birdies never get to our neck of the woods, but my sweetie grew up seeing them a-plenty. Their prodigious appetites and tendency to be very social nearly drove his dad nuts, heh.

Okay, I gotta run– it’s been nice chatting with everyone but I’ve got a lot of yard work to do this morning and I’ve got a gig scheduled tonight, so, busy busy busy. Everyone have a great day!

well, your fans (that would be us *g*) are happy for you on your day!
