A lot of netroots progressives will not vote for Hillary in the primaries but will vote for her if she’s the nominee… This is from the grapevine, BTW.

That’s funny, because I’m sure the reverse is also true.

In an “Ah-Ha!” moment today I realized that Act Blue is very therapeutic for my mental and physical health.

For years I’ve been trying to do my little bit to restore the Constitution and support the principles of the Republic–only to find my contribution to the Democratic Party often going to some Corporate whore or worse.

Now, whenever I am ticked off because of some idiocy wherever, I fire off a small check to Act Blue to support the appropriate progressive candidate.

“So, you’re going to fundraise for your Rubberstamper, eh Bushie, you traitor? Well, take that!”

Does that feel good, or what?

The Kennedy email was headed “Stand Against Torture”. My reply was short.

And where were you standing against torture? Did you filibuster? Did you put a hold on Mukasey? No. I am re registering as an Independent. I find that the Democratic Party is nothing more than an enabler for the Bush putsch.

Sincerely, once a supporter

i just got the same email - called his office and spoke with a legislative aide for 15 minutes. it was not a happy conversation…. suggest other people call too. let the aides know what we think about this.

Joe @ 55: I quote an “Give ‘em Hell Harry” email from the aforementioned Senator Reid:

Send the message:

If he can’t say no to torture - we say no to Mukasey.

While Michael Mukasey refuses to answer the question of whether waterboarding is torture, the precedent is clear. In 1947, Yukio Asano, a Japanese officer, was sentenced to 15 years of hard labor for performing a form of waterboarding on an American citizen.

Do they really think Americans can’t put 2 2 together?

RockPaperScizzors @ 54

Hillary following in the footsteps of hubby’s NAFTA deal, in supporting Peru Free Trade Agreement - the first agreement in a package of corporate-crafted agreements to vastly expand the NAFTA trade model….The announcement, which flies in the face of polls showing the public strongly opposed to NAFTA-style trade policies, comes on the same day the New York Times reports that Clinton is being endorsed by NAFTA architect Robert Rubin, the CEO of Citigroup - a company that stands to reap financial rewards from the NAFTA model. Rubin’s announcement came with a promise to raise Clinton more money from Wall Street.http://commonsense.ourfuture.o....._expansion
Robert Rubin was the Treasury Secretary under Clinton. Pres. Bill Clinton, Rubin, and Greenspan were responsible for the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 (the act bans commercial banks from underwriting securities, forcing banks to choose between being a simple lender or an underwriter (brokerage). The repeal is responsible for the mess of the subprime mortgage/credit crunch disaster.
Here’s the kicker: Just days after the administration (including the Treasury Department) agrees to support the repeal, Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, the former co-chairman of a major Wall Street investment bank, Goldman Sachs, raises eyebrows by accepting a top job at Citigroup as Weill’s chief lieutenant. The previous year, Weill had called Secretary Rubin to give him advance notice of the upcoming merger announcement. When Weill told Rubin he had some important news, the secretary reportedly quipped, “You’re buying the government?”
http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/.....emise.html

Hillary is a very, very dirty <strike>democrat</strike> doing tricks in-bed Wall Street Corporate Hugging Republican

Why do you think a lot of us will only vote for Hillary if she is the nominee. We aren’t fooled by her BS.

Can you say Enron? Rubin and the Clinton’s are dirty, dirty bed partners and stink like 3 day old fish. Article from July 2002; ” Robert Rubin, now the chairman of Citigroup’s executive committee…In addition to this week’s disclosures about Citigroup’s assistance in cooking Enron’s books, during Enron’s final days Rubin played a direct role in attempting to conceal Enron’s financial condition from credit-rating agencies. Specifically, on November 8, 2001, Rubin made a telephone call to Peter Fisher, the Treasury Department’s undersecretary for domestic finance, seeking Fisher’s intervention with Wall Street credit-rating agencies on behalf of Enron when those agencies were about to downgrade Enron’s ratings.”

That’s my feeling as well. However bad she is, she’s better than any of the (R) candidates. I only hope there are any choices by the time I get to vote in a primary (in May).
