Here in Kentucky we are getting ready to ditch McConnell’s hand picked governor, Ernie Fletcher. Getting rid of McConnell is a long shot but I’m hoping someone will step up in 08 and take him out.

Who else is livid that Schumer and Feinstein will vote for Mukasey? These two reduce themselves to meaningless shills for Bush with this vote.

Fine thing that Schumer will take on McConnell. The state of Ky is ready to dump our crook of a Senator. But who will take on Schumer?

Don’t come to me Chuck for DSCC donations. You can go to hell.

Mitch (Michelle) was having trouble with his/her make up so he/she was not able to appear or make any comments. Michelle does not care about mine workers. Please, he is more worried about the mine owners since they can keep him in make up, hair dye and Botox.

Nice Work Kansas City - there’s an unwritten law that if a sign lasts more than four or five days it’s good for a month.

the trick is to just keep doing it… make it a game. once you get into the mindset, it’s one of the greatest, most interesting strategic games you’ll ever play.

Steve-AR @ 55

Russ Feingold on Murkasey:

“I have not made up my mind about Judge Mukasey’s nomination to be the next Attorney General. Judge Mukasey is a marked improvement over Alberto Gonzales in many ways, including his apparent commitment to running the Department in an apolitical fashion. He may be the best nominee we can get from this administration in this respect. But I am concerned about his views on executive power, and I am weighing whether his answers to questions in that area adequately demonstrate a commitment to the rule of law. We need an Attorney General who will tell the President that he must abide by statutes enacted by Congress, and who will not equivocate on an issue as fundamental as torture. I will consider these and other issues as I weigh my vote.”

TPM

WTF??? IIRC Russ has had a “give the President what he wants” on judges but this is just stupid.

Having hassles with the link - notice it is from TPM archives - is Feingold’s remark recent? I hope not.

Oh I would absolutely LOVE seeing an Edwards/Kucinich ticket in ‘08. The powers that be probably have the equal, but opposite sentiment about the prospect.

A wonderful prospect if ever there were one! Might even render MSM speechless if only for a nanosecond. ;~)

The oligarchs would choke on their cigars wouldn’t they?

McConnell has always been in the pocket of Big Coal. My view of him is much the same as punaise’s opinion of Joe Lieberman.

Speaking of “Big Coal”:

(snip)
Funny thing is, there’s another place experiencing more fire power than was ever leveled at either of these nations, and there are no cameras on hand to watch. In West Virginia, better than 2,500 tons of explosives per day are being used to level the mountains. The total explosive force being unleashed there dwarfs activities on the battlefields. It’s an Afghanistan every four days. A Hiroshima a week. All of it dedicated to destroying one of the most beautiful and biodiverse areas of our country. And unlike the ruined cities that happened to fall to colorful events on CNN, the mountains can’t be rebuilt. Not even with a fat no-bid contract for Haliburton.
(snip)
