Some of John Cole at Balloon-Juice’s former fellow travelers on the Right have taken violent exception to his decision to turn his back on the Republican Party. Let’s go now to Jules Crittenden, the Righty blogger who seems to exist just so that someone on the planet can be more viciously stupid than Dan Riehl.
Crittenen’s response to Mr. Cole’s parting of ways with the gun-humping, sheet-wearing, cousin-fucking, child stalking, crony-sucking Republican Party of 2007 was to publish Cole’s private work information and email address so that readers of Critenden’s swill can harass Cole to their hearts’ content.
Is that the only trick Rightards know? Publishing people’s personal information on line? I wonder how Crittenden would feel if we posted his personal information at Democratic Underground or in one of the darker corners of the DKos world? How do you suppose he would like to be on the receiving end of a tsunami of abusive phone calls and emails?
Here’s what he has to say for himself:
Cole invites me to keep writing “dumb things” but wants me to remove his email address and place of employment. I wasn’t aware either were big secrets, and not wanting to be an “asshole,” “prick” or “bitch” about it, I’ve done that.
Oh, Jules, you passed “asshole”, “prick”, and “bitch” a long time ago. Publishing other people’s private information on line zooms you straight into the realm of “cocksucker”, actually edging into “motherfucker” territory. Sorry to break it to you this way, but it seems that in your case, “dickhead”-ishness is a chronic and possibly terminal condition.
You poor man.
But you were saying, Sir Jules of the Beanbag Chair?
Cole, by the way, keeps suggesting I called him a lefty, and that I can’t tell the difference between a lefty and a non-Republican. In his case, I’m having an increasingly hard time, but as academics and journalists I believe it is important that we be accurate in what we write. So let me be clear:
Oh, this should be good. Let me get comfortable.
I never actually called Cole a lefty. I called his readers lefties, then pointed out that two days after denying he was a lefty, he called himself a Democrat and a member of a vast left-wing conspiracy. Which apparently is different than being a lefty. I also noted that he “seems” to have been part of all that prior to self-identifying.
This may all be a big misunderstanding on my part.
Yes, Jules, it is.
See, there’s this thing called “irony”, which is a primary ingredient for what we on Planet Earth call “satire”. Cole was making a “joke”, the humor in which stems from the fact that he abandoned the Republican Party not because he has a sudden urge to grow dreadlocks, pierce his nipples, stop bathing, and start smashing shop windows at WTO meetings. He left the Republican Party because it has ceased to stand for anything much besides unquestioning obedience to George Bush and Darth Cheney. That and the vicious persecution of anyone who refuses to fall to their knees and worship at the shrine of Right Wing authoritarianism, up to and including publishing people’s private information in public forums, which is a deeply shitty thing to do.
But see, that’s teh funny. Cole calling himself a member of the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy and “a Jane Hamsher of the Left” is an exaggeration because, oh, well, fuck it. Never mind. If you don’t get it, you never will. Why don’t you go dust your collection of Iraq War Hummel figurines and shut the fuck up, already?
Oh, and can anyone explain to me why Right Wing sites are so butt ugly? Not to mention pathetically presented, poorly laid out, painfully difficult to read, and why they take forever to load? Jesus effing Christ, you bunch of pathetic boot-lickers. It’s two thousand fucking seven. Get some goddamn design chops, okay? Your writing is already a shit sandwich. Why do you feel the need to serve it up in a puddle of tepid puke?
We know that Conservatives aren’t creative thinkers, but surely you guys can outsource to some actual creative personalities, right? You folks love outsourcing, don’t you? Free markets and all that! So get on it. I can’t keep satirizing your pathetic world view and terrifically bad writing if I go blind from trying to read the shizz.
Thank you and good night.

Heweeeooo.
Well, you gotta speak to what you think is right. Pity the wingnuttia just don’t think…
Hi, T.
Happy Birthday, Cassie.
When will the fuckery end?
Not zed, but close? Yay TRex!
happy birthday cassie!
Happy Birthday, Cassie!!!
Mr. Cole can come sit next to me – I’m a republican and have been treated very well (well, for the most part) here at the lake and where I came from is not held against me.
Latenight, party time for Cassie! Hooray and Happy Birthday!! (again!)
uh-oh, I think Jules is going to be sad he is on TRex’s shit list.
Good evening everyone!
Happy birthday to the Snarky one!!
Hey WangDangDoodle, long time no see!
Jon Stewart & Rob Riggle on torture.
Happy Cassie’s Birthday, everybody! Do we all get party hats?
This is great..TRex keeps me up on wing-nut blog gossip and I don’t have to read the shit. TRex turning the GF onto Jezebel.com was bad enough.
That was gifted. I have often used the term slope-headed cousin fuckers.
eCAHNomics @ 13
What is a Rob Riggle?
hey cassie
you are exactly twice my daughter’s age
Happy Sweet 16, Cassie (hugs)
We need to start the Irony Police Force.
Suzanne @ 9
Still..The thought of Suzanne still a Republican gives me chest pains.
Hi madmommy, been missing everyone. Work is sucking my soul. But I get health and dental.
For Cassie, the original version.
mack, cassie was that until today. my oldest is 30.
marymccurnin @ 20
Really. And Rummy’s notes called snowflakes?
suzzanne/cassie
i mean EXACTLY
mine turned 8 at 6PM
Rock on, TRex!
Steve-AR @ 21
News to me. Coulda swore she was a Democrat by her posts. Why are you a Republican, Suzanne? What’s the attraction?
Happy Birthday MiniMack!
Suzanne @ 9
My name is Shadowstalker, and I was a closet Republican for many years. I voted twice for Ronald Reagan. Once, I voted for him when he wasn’t even eligible to run. Even closet Republicans can learn to read, write, and understand that “conservative” is a different animal today than it was when Daddy Ike ran things. My therapy worked, and I am now a nice, reformed DFH. And all the other DFHs treat me nice, too.
Hiya TRex! Hi y’all!
burnspbesq @ 23
Good choice, but I was thinking something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..p;index=35
Shorter Jules Crittenden: “And to think I gave him my virginity…boo hoo.”
sorry mack – and happy birthday to your little one
Evening all. Time to celebrate All Souls and Cassie’s b’day. Sweet 16, oh my!
SnarkasSixteen @ 31
Happy birthday. Park the car and stay a while.
irony is lost on the stupid
I don’t think I have ever seen so many happy-birthdays (for me!!!) all in one day. Y’all are so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mack @ 18
And slightly less than half my son’s age.
Happy Birthday, Cassie!
that was for crittendon
hackworth @ 28
You might be surprised how many principled conservatives and ex-Republicans hang out at the Lake … something about loving your country and being disgusted by what the current regime has done to it. If you can’t work from within, then you work from without.
Suzanne @ 9
Ya still haven’t cuffed me, Ma Cheri! “Don’t tase me, bro!” ;-)
Suzanne, come be a democrat. We are way more fun!
hapdaybirthday to you!
hapdaybirthday to you!
hapdaybirthday dear Caaasssie!
hapdaybirthday to you!
You might be surprised how many principled conservatives and ex-Republicans hang out at the Lake … something about loving your country and being disgusted by what the current regime has done to it. If you can’t work from within, then you work from without.
burns said it better than i could have.
Suzanne @ 9
Suz- I am confused. Based on your previous comments, I thought that you were a “recovering republican”. ?
DrDick @ 35
Happy Dia de los Bloggos, Cassie!
Enjoy the day, Cassie! We love you at the Lake!
burnspbesq @ 42
Republicans? No problem.
Radical, racist, bible-thumping, asshole hypocrites? Another thing all together.
OMG – thanks Trex, I loved this, even though I’m way late.
punaise @ 48
Careful, She’s getting mighty cheeky in her Blog-whoring…! ;-)
Steve-AR @ 21
*uploading a nitro to SteveAR*
Late to the thread as usual…hello everyone, and happy birthday Cassie, if you’re still here :-)
TRex, you handed that guy his hiney! Great post! I had a winger google me after my having made librul remarks he didn’t cotton to. Sure enough he posted my physical street address. He thought he was being kind by blocking out my phone number. Real d*ckhead stunt that seems peculiar to the righttards. Kneejerk Neanderthal reaction.
CTuttle @ 52
I am NOT!
VG, I am still registered as a party member. That way, I get all the propaganda from the RNC and I really screw the numbers when taking polls what with being a republican retired law enforcement union member living in a rural area who considers herself to be a member of an evangelical church.
Hey, who is coming to Wahoo’s on Saturday?
But you’re one of us, right suzanne????????
burnspbesq @ 57
’tis I
hackworth @ 54
It is the old “if you are not cheating or being an asshole you are not trying hard enough.”
SnarkasSixteen @ 55
I’m joshing M’dear…! *g*
Suzanne @ 9
Hey, Suzanne! You and John can have martinis together. Just watch out for Jane and Pach doing the Jell-O shots!
oh yeah, cassie, i’m a lefty now… and to be honest, i never voted a straight party line – i always voted for whom i thought would do the best job
Phoenix Woman @ 62
Any updates on Jane’s surgery? *g*
newtonusr @ 59
Excellent! We can swap photos of Sheriff Carona in handcuffs at his arraignment. I thought that was just exquisite.
Suzanne @ 56
Suz! So, clarification. The “republican” meme is mostly based on your party registration, and not where your heart is?
Suzanne @ 56
Got no problem with Republicans, if they are principled (enough to get you drummed out of the party today), or with evangelicals, as long as they remember Matthew 22:21.
Lieberman on CSPAN… always very careful to frame waterboarding only in terms of when it’s done by USG employees. Makes me think: Blackwater… …boarders.
Hmmm.
burnspbesq @ 57
I’m going to try to come, but my darling husband entered us in a chili cookoff at our son’s preschool and that starts at 11. Nevermind that we don’t really have a chili recipe.
sigh.
Jane’s surgery went well and she sent out an email to let us know.
Happy Birthday, Cassie.
Hmmm. @ 68
And vouching for Mukasey’s integrity! Hmmm…
Suzanne @ 70
((((Jane))))
Thanks Suz, for the good report.
Hmmm. @ 68
Joe Lieberman is a motherfucker. In the TRexian sense.
And vouching for Mukasey’s integrity! Hmmm…
LoudounLib @ 73
Double thanks!
Suzanne @ 70
Awesome!!! Good news indeed…! 8-)
So is Blackwater subject to the Army Field Manual?
TRex,
It’s been a while…glad I popped in to read tonight’s post. Your phraseology is especially delicious tonight. “Gun-humping, cousin-fucking, child stalking…” indeed! Ah. You sir, are the epitome of wordsmithing.
It’s a shame that even if any of them read your post, they won’t see themselves. There ain’t no sense of introspection in that crowd.
But excellent for the rest of us to read!!
It’s still early here in Seattle, but you are probably getting ready to put it away for the night. Have a good evening, my friend!
Suzanne @ 63
Be careful Suzanne. If the party officials ever find that out they’ll have you excommunicated. Anything less than blind loyalty will not be tolerated, ya know.
Sadly, there is no connection whatsoever between the GOP of today and the Republican party of Barry Goldwater or Eisenhower. Trying to “work with” the current GOP is a recipe for disaster, as has been evidenced recently.
Very Happy Birthday Cassie, from the cold land of Cleveland. I remember my darling girl’s sweet 16th, and it was very special. Many happy returns and remember, you DON’T need to drive until next year.
Chris
burnspbesq @ 57

Back to read comments from this fun post in a minute, but REMINDER:
SoCal Pups=
Meet-up on Saturday, November 3rd.
Wahoo’s Fish Tacos in Costa Mesa. Noon.
not gonna happen:
Christine Edmonson @ 80
getting my provisional license tomorrow :)
CTuttle @ 76
Ditto. Didn’t even know she was going in.
I need to bug out for a while, to go to the store and then review some docs for work. See y’all later.
Ick. Someone is mailing me propaganda from Melanoma Miscarriage’s office about how we should all be ashamed of ourselves since the Surge is working and Iraq is now a tropical paradise.
I may start printing them with my responses here.
Damn, I wish I weren’t working this weekend, and wishing I could be anywhere near the west coast/central Texas/NW firepup gatherings…
Loo Hoo. @ 82
The one on Placentia, not the one at the corner of Bristol and Baker!!!
TRex @ 87
Sounds like a plan.
For WangDangDoodle!
madmommy @ 79
Actually, as Paul Krugman aptly demonstrates, there is a direct relationship between the party of Goldwater and the modern GOP. Eisenhower on the other hand is another matter.
TRex @ 87
Oh, do share!
TRex @ 87
she must be feeling neglected and is trying to force you to respond to her.
she is such an attention whore.
SnarkasSixteen @ 84
Did make both my kids learn to drive a standard transmission (stick shift) — how about you?
punaise @ 83
Sadly, I’ve been saying the same thing… However late, I’d still rally behind him, yet, I think it’s a mere pipe dream… 8-(
Christine Edmonson @ 80
getting my provisional license tomorrow :)
Clear the roads and make sure your insurance is paid up! 8~p
TRex @ 87
Late, Late Material? *g*
CTuttle @ 98
Nah, some would miss it then. This is Early Late Nite material.
Christine Edmonson @ 95
Yep! That is what my brother’s truck is, and his girlfriend’s car.
SnarkasSixteen @ 38
Happy Birthday, Cassie!!!
CTuttle @ 98
yes, please?
When I was a kid, I aspired to be like Alex P. Keaton. I, too, (though loathe to admit it) was duped by Reagan’s lies re: the promise of smaller, less obtrusive government, deregulation, union busting, welfare cheats, pick yourself up by the bootstraps – if I can do it – you can too, etc.
I just didn’t know they were lies and tricks and veiled racism and a way to provide a mafia style bust out of our country and permanent war – a precursor to this current fiasco (which is even more horrible than Raygun).
My attorney asked me why I was a Republican and I told him all those reasons. And he said something very simple that clicked with me.
He asked me what I thought we should do with the poor people – you know – the ones who aren’t cheating the system. That day, I changed my point of view.
Suzanne @ 94
Just so long as we get to point at her and laugh derisively. That’s still attention, right?
Here’s the first one:
To which I replied:
burnspbesq @ 57
Yo!
CTuttle @ 96
How about a massive GOTV campaign two weeks before the general to write-in gore.
hackworth @ 103
I like that question.
I gotta go wash off the
happy tearsbirthday cake. See y’all tomorrow night!SnarkasSixteen @ 109
Good night, Cassie.
OldCoastie @ 81
Coastie, I’m pleased. I’ll be there, too.
Newton, I know you work with macs, maybe you can explain to me why my wifi is so spotty, I can’t stay connected, keeps dropping out. It’s making me quite mad.
Happy Birthday, Sweet Sixteenassandra!
g’nite cassie and may all your birthday wishes come true
G’night, future president Cassie ;-)
TRex @ 105
lol, she lost me on the fifth word.
Lea (no uh) @ 69
Perhaps you can get chili at Wahoo’s? Far more important!
SnarkasSixteen @ 109
Night Cassie. Sweet 16 dreams.
Email the second:
To which I replied:
Oh, dammit. I didn’t save it.
Well, when they write back (which they inevitably will), I will print my response.
Mommybrain @ 111
Hi Mommybrain!
I’ll be in LA for the meetup – bring your laptop and we’ll fix you up.
Suzanne @ 70
Fantastic!
this made me laugh out loud…
“Why don’t you go dust your collection of Iraq War Hummel figurines and shut the fuck up, already?” INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH SNARK!
Brilliant. Thanks, TRex.
Suzanne @ 70
Thank goodness. Let’s beam all good thoughts and feelings westward to her (she’s in LA, IIRC).
Loo Hoo. @ 119
Out of surgery and already e-mailing. Does the woman ever rest? She is amazing. All good thoughts to her.
((((John))))
Huggles to John, and lots of stiff drinks that magically do not leave hangovers the next day.
Twain @ 122
yeap, she is … jane. nothing holds her down nor back for long.
TRex @ 87
Do it, do it, do it. Don’t you break my heart…
Newt, fix me up how? I don’t want to miss the book salon, I’m reading The conservatives Have No Clothes ( not a pretty mental image, I can assure you)
“Michael Yon, among the best reporters in the war zone, reports today that al Qaida is defeated. We’ve heard that the evil organization has failed in its bloody plan to cause an all-out civil war between Sunnis and Shiites. American commanders and diplomats have told us this.”
So lets declare victory and leave…!!! 8-)
Loo Hoo. @ 115
I agree completely, which is why I’m going to try to at least sneak away for a little while and join you. It’s only about 3 minutes away, so it shouldn’t be a problem!
Ugh. I have to go to the grocery store tonight and I sooooooo don’t want to.
Grumble.
Why won’t someone just bring me the groceries I want when I want them?
Life is cruelly unfair.
TRex- I finally sorted out my confusion by using teh google:
“American Mourning” by Melanie Morgan and Catherine Moy
At first I thought you were talking about the OTHER MM.
CTuttle @ 127
Somebody far more pedantic than I am could get hours of fun fact-checking that spiel.
Suzanne @ 124
A great lesson for all of us, IMO.
Mommybrain @ 126
If your issue is system-related, we’ll reinstall or upgrade you. If it’s hardware, I carry airport cards and a few other wireless goodies, like the Wi-Fire booster.
CTuttle @ 127
You know, if things in Iraq are so great, how come Condi is having to force diplomats to serve there?
TRex, before i moved up on the mt, i used to do my shopping online. you could sign up at the store’s site and make your purchases and they deliver. buncha stores do it, safeway, albertsons, iirc.
TRex @ 129
Uh, T, I believe Raven offered you his services…!
TRex @ 129
Been there, done that. Today is payday (yeah!) and so I did my monthly stock up. A necessary strategy when you only get paid once a month.
i hear that, dr dick… the first is always crowded at the store so one more night of making do and i hit the grocery store for the month’s stock up.
TRex @ 134
Remember, wingnuts never lets pesky facts get in the way of a good hissy fit.
EvilDrPuma @ 131
Not to mention that, according to most military experts, al Qaida is largely irrelevant in Iraq and that in fact we already have a full blown sectarian civil war. The only reason violence is declining anywhere is because they have already “ethnically cleansed” most areas.
Suzanne @ 138
Heh, I went early this morning…
Good night all, the B-Days squad is back in the trenches tomorrow.
TRex in the hizzau!!! I must admit I don’t know anyone you are talking about because I only come to the Lake to blog, but isn’t the blogosphere, according to the Bushies, supposed to be where the “crazies” go? And yet, here come they come by the boat loads.
DrDick @ 140
Ain’t that the tragic truth…
DrDick @ 140
And our guys have stopped dying in such large numbers cause we are striking from the air.
Hi everyone….
Night LL. Good luck protecting the citizenry from themselves.
Lea (no uh) @ 128
Excellent! I’ll have a get well card for everyone to sign. (Handwriting vs. text should be nice for her!)
Hi Katymine. How are you feeling lately?
Aloha, LL!
Goodnight LL!
And good evening katymine, how’s things?
DrDick @ 147
Thanks DrD — fortunately (or not?) I have a trainee now — I’ll leave it in his hands, and pick up the pieces when necessary *g*
marymccurnin @ 145
Also they are focusing on killing each other, especially since we have generally been deploying larger forces when we move into an area. It really is whack-a-mole. We move in, violence subsides here and pops up somewhere else.
Hey, katymine.
g’night CT and madmommy :-)
*poof*
Good night, all.
Night EDP.
marymccurnin @ 145
I think the Dems can use this. We finally are getting somewhere. It’s good to see that things are improving; it only took us 6 years to do it. Now, as for the PKK up north, the Druze in Israel, Hezbollah in the West, Iran and the Quds east of us, and oh, yeah, those pesky Taliban in Afganistan, the attacks unrest in Pakistan….
(waving to the leaving sleepy pups)
Thanks, Newt. I will be ever so grateful if you can fix it.
LooHoo, does Wahoo have wifi, do you know?
Hi katymine!
OT, but I must wish a Happy Birthday to Cassie.
To all the other November arrivals, Happy Birthday to each of you too.
Now to read.
marymccurnin @ 145
Why send our boys in when superior Air Power can do it instead…
DrDick @ 137
I lived with payday once a month for years — good god how do people live like this? We were students, just lowly graduate students and me with my first full time job and going to graduate school at night. My husband was a Ph.D. student with a Fullbright and we lived in almost poverty for seven years. But, we lived everyday for travel.
Chris
CTuttle @ 163
And massively slaughter civilians, thus further endearing us to the long suffering and fed up Iraqi people.
CTuttle @ 163
Because you kill more innocents.
Suzanne @ 70
I’m so glad!
Mommybrain @ 160
Don’t know. I was thinking about that this afternoon. I’ll call to check.
Bush’s latest “thoughts” on SCHIP:
No snark intended..are there degrees of “insanity” for a psychopath. Bush’s behavior and statements are getting more “deranged” and out of touch with even Republican reality.
Christine Edmonson @ 164
Travel, in itself, is life long educational experience… The further the better!
Steve-AR @ 169
Good God he is such an ass.
Loo Hoo. @ 168
thank you loo hoo!
Alright, gang. I’m outta here. I think it’s going to be a bare provisions run to be followed by a monthly stock-up on Saturday.
I think I have been sitting far too long at this computer thingie. (You know over time your butt will get bigger and bigger if you spend too much time in front of a monitor. Really) Good night.
Steve-AR @ 169
Bush does seem to be losing it in a really big way. Not sure what is going on here, but it is pretty scary when you think he has his finger on the nuclear trigger.
Goodnight marymc!
Night MaryM.
CTuttle @ 170
Thanks — it is really amazing. And I love being here.
DrDick @ 140
And more to the point, al-Qaeda always was a pretty minor factor in the violence in Iraq. You have to be especially skilled in wingnut logic to believe both the administration spin for the past year that everyone we are fighting is al-Qaeda or just “the terrorists,” and believe that they have been defeated, and still have no problem with the idea that the war isn’t over.
marymccurnin @ 166
I agree whole-heartedly! Yet, Room to room is not conducive to our boys health too! I abhor this entire travesty to begin with, I do not endorse it one iota… I’ve experienced and seen close air-support, however, I never had to fire a shot in anger, and, I count my blessings everyday!
DrDick @ 140
I always thought al Qaida in Iraq was an invention trotted out shortly after someone pointed out that al Qaida was not in Iraq. Perhaps all the attention contractors are getting now has made al Qaida inconvenient.
DrDick @ 175
You are right, he is surrounded by true believers…when Nixon was cracking up and drinking to excess, Henry had the good sense to tell the military to ignore any nuclear strike order coming from Dick.
alright, puppies! after Halloween week and a bunch of sugared up kids, I have no brains left…at all…
if I don’t catch any SoCal pups before Saturday, I’ll see you at Wahoo’s.
‘night all…
Aloha, Mary and OC!
Steve-AR @ 182
was this during the period when henry the k talked about the dickster getting down on his knees praying and crying, insisting that henry the k do likewise?
DrDick @ 165
Lots of families in the wrong place at the wrong time – their own homes. Women and children and babies. Its horrible. When I go to church, they always pray for the troops, but they never pray for the Iraqis. And they hand out Congressional Candidate questionaires that are thinly-veiled propaganda pieces for Republican warmongers who pretend to love American fetuses.
Blue Friday.
The Bush vortex is sucking harder and harder and harder.
-GSD
tw3k @ 181
Actually, there apparently is a group in Iraq which refers to themselves as al Qaeda in Iraq, but they have always been a very minor player and their actual ties to al Qaeda are dubious (mostly a PR stunt to adopt the name). The real players are the various Sunni and Shia militias, as well as a number of foreign jihadis (mostly Saudis). At present we are busily arming both groups of militias, so when the gloves finally come off there is going to be an unparalleled blood bath.
The guy I just spoke with at Wahoo’s said he didn’t know what wifi was, and to check in the morning with the manager at 9:00. I’ll be at work, so if someone else can check before I do, that would be great. I’m guessing that the answer is no wifi.
Night OC.
Pray with me Henry.
-Tricky Dick
GSD @ 191
that’s what i was thinking of GSD – i wonder if boosh is at this tipping point emotionally?
Loo Hoo. @ 189
Wahoo’s in Costa Mesa? 1700 miles; if I left now I might make it.
Suzanne @ 192
The live TV melt down is comming, I can feel it in my bones.
Suzanne @ 192
Actually, I think he is long past it.
Suzanne @ 192
Like my sister says, “No brains, no headaches.”
Steve-AR @ 169
Looks like classic transferance. “…Its really a trick on the American People.”
He’s the trick.
boosh is not looking well in his public appearances. all grey with red spots.
hackworth @ 186
What really galls me is Dod’s reporting, every male is a terrorist, period, and oops were there some civilians, I didn’t see any…
CTuttle @ 199
Iraqi criminals is the new catch phrase. The village that they blasted with an AC-130 killed thirty criminals.
It’s sleepy time for me. Goodnight all!
OldCoastie @ 183
Looking forward to meeting you, OC!
Steve-AR @ 200
Definition of an Iraqi criminal: anyone who gets in the way of an American bullet.
tw3k @ 181
Well, the idea that “al Qaida in Iraq” is “al Qaida” is certainly an invention. They were an insurgent group who adopted the “brand name” (in part because they could piggyback on all the Bush Administration fearmongering about how scary al-Qaida was), but apparently they never had much operational connection.
(And actually, my previous comment should have referred to “al Qaida in Iraq” rather than just “al Qaida.”)
Night MM.
CTuttle @ 163
The only thing superior about air power is its superior ability to indiscriminately kill and maim civilians, thereby making the locals hate us even more and further undermining our ability to accomplish anything constructive.
I mean, jeez, I know they teach about the British experience in Malaya at Leavenworth. Was every flag-level officer in the entire U.S. military too hung over to pay attention that day?
Steve-AR @ 200
Ooh, mahalo! I hadn’t caught that orwellian shift, hmmm… I need to recalibrate my antenna! ;-)
i’m worried that the definition of ‘criminal’ will soon include those who do not agree with the boosh administration.
Aloha, MM!
Steve-AR @ 193
Well, come on down! John Wayne Airport.
Steve-AR @ 193
You’re expected, y’know. Better git movin.’
Suzanne @ 208
The Gooper critters will be out front on this one for sure.
Redshift @ 204
Kinda jives with rummies snowflakes of wisdom.
Good evening dear friends. Evening TRex. Y’ll ready for some birthday cake?
I want to know when I am going to get my brain back…. went into my bedroom three times today to get something and by the time I got there…. poof no idea….. forgot to get my car registered which was due by the 31st…..
TexBetsy @ 214
All right! Now it’s officially a party.
Suzanne @ 208
Already does.
TexBetsy @ 214
Absolutely! Thank you.
Suzanne @ 208
Quite.
Suzanne @ 208
Or those within the Bush administration, more appropriately.
katymine @ 215
it took a solid 30 days for me to shake the chemical soup from the TKR surgery. it will clear soon, katy. :( about the car reg.

He’s looking weary, frantic and haggard(Ted). He’s ending his Whitehouse stay the way he’s ended everything else. Fucking it all up and knowing it and blaming everyone else for his shitpile.

Meanwhile ignoring the mothership, al Qaeda in Pakistan.
Steve-AR @ 169
If they override his veto, then the terrorists win! Or something…
burnspbesq @ 206
Having worked with many Field Grades during Clinton’s era, they are aware of the circumstances, I’ve participated in joint live-fires at a brigade level that pulverize the objective…! I haven’t seen a pyrotechnic display that would compete!
sorry for the weird comment – it wouldn’t load properly.
Alicia @ 222
or Al-Qaeda in Iran so the necons can just generalize it to AQI. meh, goes with AEI.
Alicia, we’ve already been given previews of Al-Qaeda Spain and Al-Qaeda London.
We need to grab the remote back and change the channel.
Suzanne @ 221
At least I remembered before I left for Oregon… cops tag cars here that are sitting with expired tags even in driveways.
katymine @ 215
Send your registration along with paperwork for your medical issues. If they’re coldhearted enough to charge you the late fee, f*ck em.
I’ll bet you won’t have to pay it, seeing as how most of us work for a living…
DrDick @ 224
but they have nukes so they don’t count!
DrDick @ 224
The ratings are in the toilet for that one. Not so zexy!
tw3k @ 232
And he is our insane, brutal despot.
Loo Hoo. @ 210
Can I still fly?? Do I want to know. I used to commute from Jackson WY to LR AR..1550miles door to door..26 hrs with a couple of naps.
dang, that is harsh, katymine. in ca, a car has to registered to be on a public street but if on private property (like the driveway), the vehicle code does not apply (with certain exceptions)
The pics of DrDick’s and my ‘meetup’ last month are on my Facebook page, if anyone is so inclined.
You know I find this publishing of the addresses and home info very troubling. How much more HutuPower Radio do they need to get?
“Here is where they live. Go get ‘em. Crush the cockroaches. Not our fault if anything happens, it’s not like we suggested people do bad things to them or anything, and even if we did, we have our free speech!”
GSD @ 223
But we really -don’t- want him removed from office on account of illness, now do we? President Darth would -not- be an improvement, Addington’s-hand-on-the-helm-wise.
Have to get the car smogged first…. Yahoo that is a barrel of fun…
Anyway… I give $100 bucks to sleep 8hrs without waking up…. otherwise I am feeling fine and looking forward to meetup in Portland… and there might be one in Seattle next weekend…
spocko – i heard on my local news tonight that imus has been signed to abc radio… imus now has the disney seal of approval.
Suzanne @ 208
They must be worried by Hillary; they are starting preemptive strikes..

spocko @ 238
Kinda makes me wonder how the stats on death threats has risen over the dubya years.
Suzanne @ 241
And this somehow surprised you?
I wonder if Malkin is hiding in Cole’s carport yet?
spocko @ 238
Our radio Hutu has bleached blonde hair and collagen stuffed lips…….. Melanie Morgan, Who called for Votevets John Soltz to be “crushed” because he’s a “cockroach”.
The Nazi babble on the far right is reaching fever pitch too. Witness Norm Pudhoretz or Giuliani’s latest Hillary/Obama rant.

ccmask @ 245
Probably under his bed already.
Suzanne @ 241
I wonder if disney will let him talk about the war criminals.
Disney sold off the radio portion of ABC.
TexBetsy @ 249
To who?
ccmask @ 245
lol!
TexBetsy @ 249
That may be, but they are still reprehensible fascists (and I mean that literally).
Suzanne @ 241
Makes perfect sense. After all, he does look a little bit like Cruella de Vil. Sadly, Disney probably has research that says that Imus can still draw an audience that advertisers want to reach. One more data point that supports the hypothesis that Mencken was right when he said that “Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.”
DrDick @ 247
Better there than *in* his bed.
Disney’s ABC sold ABC Radio Networks to Citadel Broadcasting
tw3k @ 243
I wonder how many Hillary has gotten with the jeebus-cracker preachers and the wingnut radio shows saying that she a commie, pinko, socialist, baby killing lesbian agent of satan and a funny looking DFH.
BTW, there were high-fives around the Redshift house when Keith showed this Shrub excerpt tonight:
(Both of us are MoveOn members, and Ms. Redshift is active in CodePink DC.) I mean, yeah, it would be much better if Congress actually was responding to our demands, but hearing Bush cite us by name as being his opposition is kinda cool.
I am going to do a blatant blog whore here.
I spend at least an hour a day hunting down news stories and blog posts for the radio network, and everything I find interesting goes here. About a third goes to my blog on the network page or to the hosts. The problem? I am averaging SIX readers a day. So go read and tell me how I can improve content or presentation.
Thank you.
burnspbesq @ 254
Jeeeez! Thanks a lot for that image. Now where did I put that barrel of industrial strength brain bleach?
GSD @ 223
Only this time, nobody can save his ass. He ownes it.
Redshift @ 256
congrats! It is an honor.
DrDick @ 258
My work is done here, folks. Guess I’ll be movin’ on.
TexBetsy @ 257
Insistent aren’t we, Ma’am! *g*
I’m sure Malkin will hav a full report on Cole’s counter tops and vehicles by tomorrow.
Night Burns.
YES CT. Feel like it’s wasted effort if no one even knows it’s there.
TexBetsy @ 214
Ooh, pretty. Think I’ll look at it a while before digging in all messy like ;-)
TexBetsy @ 257
I saved it to my favorites Betsy. Maybe a cute kitty in the corner :)) I never knew you had it.
Suzanne @ 236
What can I tell you… I live in the land of Sheriff Joe….
tw3k @ 260
Yeah. I know the feeling. Made me mighty proud when the Friendly Family Fascists named academics the second most dangerous group in America. 8~)
burnspbesq @ 254
Uuuuuggggghhhhh…BRAINBLEACH! Stat!!
Steve-AR @ 235
No way. What airport in Arizona is closest to you?
TexBetsy @ 258
Also takes time to build up readers. Just keep mentioning it everywhere you go. Tag line it in your email. That kind of thing ;-)
DrDick @ 268
You mean you’re not? Who was the first?
burnspbesq @ 253
Publicly traded corporations are in business for one thing, money — it’s not the main thing; it’s the only thing. Even if he loses or drives away advertising dollars, he could be a good investment say for assisting in the deregulation of other markets.
Wigwam, are you still planning to come?
Catch you later. Nice post T.

DrDick @ 268
lol! yeah, that damn Illuminati.
tw3k @ 278
Actually I almost wish I had the power and influence they think I do. If I did this would currently be the People’s Republic of Missoula. Of course the Rethugs in eastern Montana already think it is (and did so before I moved here).
i got leftovers.
TexBetsy @ 264
Very eclectic! A nice mash of posts/reports! I missed that new post by Marcy, Whitehouse is a crafty one… ;-)
TexBetsy @ 281
honey, we all gots leftovers – no pawning yours off here (laughing)
TexBetsy @ 258
Bookmarked it..I likes the Dennis and Liz picture. The GF is now for Dennis after she calculated the “delta” age for Liz and Dennis and it is the same as ours.
TexBetsy @ 280
I think I just went into a diabetic comma just looking at that.
Loo Hoo. @ 275
I’m still trying, but it’s not looking real good. Long story.
Late to the party, but Happy Birthday, Cassie!
tex, it takes time. i’ve been blogging for over a year and a half and have had a grand total of 4,000 hits. total.
ya just gotta keep blogging as if ya had a large regular readership. if the content is there, remind yourself – they will come and often.
DrDick @ 285
o.O yeah, ditto here. AUGH.
Loo Hoo. @ 271
Ummm..That would be Arkansas; often confused with AZ and AK. Even if I drove the “Red Head” and wasn’t arrested; and if I made it on time, I would fall asleep in my fish taco.
Disney sold ABC Radio to Citadel Broadcasting in a deal that closed in the summer. The interesting thing is that Disney now owns 57 percent of Citadel, but they get to have another layer of distance from the nastiness of talk radio.
Citadel/ABC Radio hires Imus even though the majority shareholder is Disney. Nobody in the media will comment on that because of the unspoken rule that you don’t go after the parent company because supposedly the Citadel management team is in charge. Did Disney have any say in okaying the hiring of Imus?
Who knows? But here’s the deal. Imus is still seen as an asset. Even though he cost CBS and MSNBC money in several way. ABC Radio/Disney thinks they are much smarter because they have figured out a way to profit from the racist speech with out taking the corporate hit to their brand.
The Disney brand protected and helped sell the violent rhetoric of KSFO. And the Disney deep pockets will help protect Imus.
Disney air dropped lawyers into KSFO to protect the KSFO people from themselves in January but now the don’t have the same team to help them (at least I don’t think so.)
This development also tells me that any appeal to upper management at Citadel for a sense of decency will fall on deaf ears. I knew that Disney wouldn’t do anything because they didn’t want to admit they were profiting from the noise that came out of KSFO.
DrDick @ 279
My parents were academics. It is a culture and lifestyle. In all honesty you do have the power to teach critical thinking to individuals and with enough free thinkers in academia that is a power that threatens the Family values sect.
tw3k @ 260
It is indeed. Code Pink may have been on his mind because they were protesting his speech at the Heritage Foundation. And he actually saw them and waved — “free speech zone” breakdown, for once.
for Dr D and PB
And another Happy Birthday, Cassie! You and I apparently share a birthday…or one day apart. Difference is, I was born in 1942
TexBetsy @ 280
Hah! I ended up dispensing all 80 Boo bags and my cretins, err… children refuse to share, being teenyboppers it’s hard to confiscate the loot…!
TexBetsy @ 293
Thanks. Feeling better now.
Redshift @ 293
Somebody needs to tell the White House that this is the United States of America — the whole fucking country is a free-speech zone, you fools.
Well, I had better head off to bed. More young minds to warp. This week has been sex and gender. Always good for twisting their minds.
Somebody needs to tell the White House that this is the United States of America — the whole fucking country is a free-speech zone, you fools.

What she said!

Be gentle, now! Aloha!

I dunno why but that image strikes me a really funny.
I’m sure conni mentioned, by-the-by, Desiree.
Gun-humpers, baby!
Suzanne @ 299
Randi Rhodes talked that she knew that BushCo had perverted her values when she would “self incarcerate” herself in the “free speech” zones…
Think of it as self incarceration to express a right granted in the Bill of Rights
Late, Late up!

The control of the image box at Bush and Republican events is one of their biggest achievements.
Not only do they control the audience, but the backgrounds and the TV sight lines as well.
For Bush they use the personal security angle as a way to keep any opposing views out of the line of the TV cameras. But the same techniques are used by lesser lights to keep people from disrupting events. And they don’t have the same legit reason, but they will use it anyway.
I also know that some government agencies use media control techniques to keep the press from asking tough questions. Some subtle some blatant. I’m thinking especially about FDA during the pet food tainting crisis that killed over 4,000 dogs and cats. (Bet you didn’t know that the number was over 4,000 did you? That was intentional on their part.)
I tried to help the journalists working on a story, but they didn’t want to appear to be banding together to get answers.
And of course that lack of cooperation among the press is used by the Government to keep them from getting the real story.
Steve-AR @ 290
Okay. Understood. All this time I was thinking Arizona. My stupid. Maybe sometime (summer of ‘08?0 there will be a serious FDL meet-up or two!
Very, very late to the party. Happy Birthday Cassie, and drive safe. 2032 is waiting!!!
tw3k @ 107
The up side to this disappointment is everyone knows he was elected fair & square and will no longer be constrained to speak out and up with either party. His presidential endorsement will have enormous weight and stature. I hope he supports former vice-president John Edwards courageous presidential campaign.
Suzanne @ 9
He can sit with me too. I’m another Republican and I’ve also been treated very well.
May I say that I am ashamed of these knuckle-draggers that belong to my party?
wangdangdoodle @ 16
Hey. Stop talking about my cousins. They can’t help that the new road didn’t go through until the early 1950s.
TRex @ 105
Oooh! So mean! I love you!
good morning, 44 and mostly cloudy in an autumnal Blue Ridge GA.

I had to chuckle. Internet-speak is so charming.
Happy Birthday, Cassie.
And wishes for many, many more…in a world we’re working to make better for all.
Trex,
You rock! When I grow up, someday, I want to be able to rant just like you.
Ron Charest @ 318
Just testing.
Those nutwingers. Embracing Christian values like charity. Not.
I know this thread is old, but FTR, I found this part particularly hilarious. I’ve been snickering and giggling for 15 minutes over it. Thanks!
Yep! Penultimate paragraph is Teh Ultimate!
Why don’t you go dust your collection of Iraq War Hummel figurines and shut the fuck up, already?
Cats in a handbag! Fire-breathing TRex, torching the wingnuts again!
Burn, baby, burn …
Happy Birthday, Cassie! Enjoy and ‘live long and prosper.’
