But they are scurrying about to say it was “lower ranking officials”…NOT CONDI, if she was in charge she would have done things differently…

Maybe this is why they are trying to put into the FISA bill that phrase that not only the Attorney General, but Asst. and Associate AG’s and State officials and those of sub-jurisdictions will be able to issue “executive subpoenas” without having a judge involved….and the Telecoms will have immunity if they listen to them.

Immunity is now given out “free”!

I always thought those veteran poppies were odd. A girl I knew in high school said we should collect them on 11/12 and melt them down; I pointed out they were made of crepe papier nowadays.

I’m guessing that Arnold sampled in a variety of alternative lifestyles while living in Venice Beach in the 1970’s.

Living in Illinois, I always considered Arnold to be a nasty Repug who stole his seat (all the while conspiring with Enron, Milt Friedman, et.al.). But talking to a couple of my left-leaning friends in California, they say that he isn’t that bad. Weird…

Well, the Central Valley is a bit red about Ahnold, too . . . but then most of MY friends are coastal dirty effin hippies, too . . . . not a buddy of Ahnold in the bunch . . .

Arnold is a very corporate Republican. What’s good for Big Money is great as far as Arnold is concerned. He doesn’t buy into the the whole GOP “cultural agenda”, is not categorically anti-environment (although isn’t all that good). So some folk say he’s “moderate”.

But the corporate people are the “people behind the curtain in both cases. Just because he isn’t crazy wrong does mean he ain’t just… wrong.

To be truly moderate, you have to be right about at least something. On economic issues, Arnold just isn’t left enough to be right.
