Edwards isn’t in the Senate or the House. He needs to let the person who can lead the charge lead it without sucking the limelight. I think he knows that.

Dodd should get the chance here to take the spotlight he has earned without Edwards nipping in and shifting the focus from the Senate.

The dance card right now leads with Dodd and Obama and Clinton are going to have to step up to the plate. They “have” in the sense of mouthing words, but neither seems very enthusiastic so far and neither seems to be exercising or wielding any actual power in the Senate or with Reid.

Indeed, it ought to be interesting to see what Obama and Clinton do without Edwards speaking up first. What happens when the ventriloquist takes a break?

I wonder, will they give speeches in the Senate with Southern accents?

solai — Actually, Edwards made several good points recently in Iowa on corporate responsibility. AP covered it, but I’m not certain it made it past the Iowa press. You can read coverage of it here.

Those are fine points, but the problem is that Edwards isn’t properly focused on the critical FISA fight that is going on right in front of him, right now. It shows incredibly poor judgment on Edwards’ part.

Edwards needs to address FISA and rally his supporters to support Dodd’s efforts. And he needs to do it soon.

Edwards isn’t in the senate and probably is VERY focused on winning over the voters of early election states. Still, it wouldn’t hurt if he put out a statement, so people know how he feels about the FISA debate and Bush’s spying.

I have no idea why we haven’t heard anything and don’t follow his campaign events daily. Perhaps he’s been sick or something. Dunno.

There’s quite a bit of Dodd vs Edwards going on in these comments, but the truth of the matter is, any Democrat we could put into office (as well as Ron Paul, if he gets the opportunity) will turn the direction of this nation around. I cried, literally tears down my face crying, when Bush won in 2004. I look forward to crying in 2008, but hopefully because our country will become one that I’m proud of again.

It’s a scary thought that I’m afraid to even hit this “Submit Comment” button because I’ve expressed dismay with the Bush Administration. What kind of world are we living in?

I haven’t switched to Dodd from Edwards. Let’s see how Doddio does when the going gets really tough and he has to get out there and filibuster with half the country jeering at him and foaming at the mouth.
