I heard this song on the radio today and I think I love it.
TRex!!!
zed?
tres?
Dos? Trois? Vier?
TRex!!!
zd while looking for bites to my last post.
Hi Teddy! I had a dream about you last night.
Who is the Band?
Ah! I meant TRex.
g’evening
ES, I know this was a while ago, but I’m really enjoying the Mavis Staples CD.
I think this band is called Snow Job. Something with Snow in it.
Eureka Springs @ 8
Snow Patrol
oh well- instead, can I use this opportunity to request that y’all update the blogroll to include the Group News Blog website? Those folks are doing a hell of a job, and deserve some recognition for it. I loved reading Steve Gilliard’s blog, and GNB is wonderful too.
loohoo, you had a dream about teddy and trex?
Buh?!?!
Just TRex. He was pissed at me.
Suzanne @ 10
Bonne soir, Ma Cheri!!!
TRex, this is a really good song. Hadn’t heard it before.
Loo Hoo. @ 7
OK, this is going to be good.
Mommybrain @ 11
Isn’t it a classic through and through..) So far, it’s my choice for Album of the year.
newtonusr @ 19
Hey, I’m not demi!
TRex:
Yeah, these kidz ain’t bad.
Good evening everyone! Hell of a week and so glad it’s friday!!!
Oh, madmommy. No getting up early tomorrow necessary. They’ll still get you up. But so sweet…
Waving at Trex and the late-nite gang
I heard this song on the radio today and I think I love it.
It plays quite often on a radio station I listen to. I didn’t know the name of the band until now, though. Thanks for the video.
madmommy @ 23
I hope it leads to a few hellish weeks for those heinous fuckers on Capitol Hill.
madmommy @ 23
TGIF!!! Wowser, UConn toppled Louisville, 21-17!!!
SteveAudio @ 22
SteveAudio, what’s your choice for album of the year?
Oilfieldguy, how you been? I don’t think I’ve seen you around for a few months.
Oilfieldguy @ 25
How’s the grandson?
TeeeeeeeRRRRRRRRRRRRREXXXXXXXXX!!!
(in the yeeehaw! voice)
CTuttle @ 28
Woo Hoo!!!
Wish I could play the vid above. In a crappy motel with a real weak wireless connection.
TRex is unavailable tonight so ya’ll are gonna have to make do with me instead.
Güt eefening!
Eureka Springs @ 20
Mavis is my very close second to Annie Lennox new offering, IMO. There women know arrangements like few others.
Elliott @ 29
Boy, that’s a tough one. In fact, I just got my Grammy ballot today, haven’t looked at it.
But for next year, I think the new Radiohead will be a contender.
Yea Suz!!!
Loo Hoo. @ 24
Trust me when I tell you there’s not much sweet about a face 1/2 inch from yours, a little finger poking you, and a little voice asking if it is time to get up yet.
Nevertheless, tomorrow is election day, so I will be off to vote early, then we are headed to visit with mawmaw and go to a birthday party across the lake.
Cujo, I pop in and out, read nearly every post and most comments, after the fact. The Oilfield is in hyperdrive, the “martini effect” of pending Democratic controls and environmental concerns, if you catch my drift.
hey TRex.. went to hotair.com and didn’t see la stalkin malkin’s blog on their faves list. Also looked in on Anabel Althouse and she’s doing recordings instead of blogging?! Just sayin……anyway I was just bored and started wandering…..
Made me wonder if MM is being shunned like a bratty teenager by her own. Theres no loyalty among them, and I try never to go to her site;
that was some drama this week! She is something that woe-man
What was the Friday Nite News Dump this week?
Suzanne @ 35
well gee, this’ll be an ordeal SUZANNE! because we love you so.
Hope you do a doozy dive for us, I’ll stay up for that!
xo
Oilfieldguy @ 41
My Borg (that’d be the office) has banned all my blogs. So you don’t see me as much either these days.
*sniff*
Time for a new job maybe.
Suzanne @ 35
Aah, do we have to. :P
what kinda dive you want, elliott?
Suzanne @ 43
I like the “West Wing” description better-take out the trash day. Can’t think of anything specific, I’ve been running all day and only got snippets.
SteveAudio @ 38
Radiohead, eh? I wrote about how they’re selling their new album over the web, but didn’t actually check it out. Guess I ought to.
newtonusr @ 37
Haven’t heard it yet.. sounds promising if you place it next to Mavis and Ry.
SteveAudio @ 38
thanks! I appreciate that, I am way behind in music these days, so I love encountering good musical fun, particularly from the likes of you! ;)
Point 1: I hope Teddy shows up. Because there was some speculation on an earlier thread (started by Punaise) that is was Teddy aka San Francisco who put the question to Biden at WaPo about supporting Dodd.
Point 2: from Oregon Dave on previous thread, a link: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/…..#038;tsp=1
~~~snip: Pelosi issued a statement Friday evening rapping Stark, who is in his 18th term representing the liberal East Bay. He’s California’s longest-serving House members.
“While members of Congress are passionate about their views, what Congressman Stark said during the debate was inappropriate and distracted from the seriousness of the subject at hand — providing health care for America’s children,” Pelosi said.~~~
I read his comments shortly after they appeared. He speaks for me.
And Pelosi does not.
Not too much of a newsy day, what with all of the goodies yesterday. The fav I’ve seen was the Tweety and Stephanie dust-up at C&L.
Friday news dump:
W didn’t go to war with anybody…this week….We’re still here!!!! Yeeehawwwww!!!
Suzanne @ 35
(eyebrows go up and down like Groucho) A date, perhaps, for our carnivore?
VG, that was my first thought when I saw the question – sure sounds like a TSF question :)
Pete Stark deserves the Dr. Ben Marble Award for boldly and loudly saying what needed to be said.
ifthethunderdontgetya @ 45
I guess. I never check political blogs or work on my own at work. Too much of a distraction, quite frankly, and it’s a firing offense anyway.
Suzanne @ 56
Suz, well you were not alone! Paging Teddy on the white courtesy phone!
Suzanne @ 47
triple somersault
I do think the news of Dodd planning to filibuster the FISA bill, and Feingold and Biden supporting is a ray of hope. At least it shows that not all the dems in government are a pack of spineless jellyfish cowering in the corner.
SteveAudio @ 38
What’s that one called again?…‘Steal This CD’?
Eureka Springs @ 50
I’m a Annie fan from way back, so my biases are plain. But it gets better every time I listen to it. As much as I like “We’ll Never Turn Back”, not as practiced in Mavis.
This caught my eye; Ghouliani is sad that Torre is no longer skipper…
Oilfieldguy @ 41
Nice to see you, OFG, I knew I hadn’t seen you around much.
Pete Stark: “Bush just likes to blow things up”
Stark said:
First of all, I’m just amazed they can’t figure out, the Republicans are worried we can’t pay for insuring an additional 10 million children. They sure don’t care about finding $200 billion to fight the illegal war in Iraq. Where ya gonna get that money? You going to tell us lies like you’re telling us today? Is that how you’re going to fund the war? You don’t have money to fund the war or children. But you’re going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to send to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the President’s amusement. This bill would provide healthcare for 10 million children and unlike the President’s own kids, these children can’t see a doctor or receive necessary care. […]
But President Bush’s statements about children’s health shouldn’t be taken any more seriously than his lies about the war in Iraq. The truth is that Bush just likes to blow things up. In Iraq, in the United States and in Congress.
CTuttle @ 65
Poor “Boody”. Since he spent more time at Yankee stadium than at Ground Zero I guess he feels like he needs to put his 2 cents in. As much as I despise the evil empire, Torre has always seemed a stand-up guy, anyone who can put up with Steinbrenner as long as he did has got to be on the short list for sainthood.
darkblack @ 62
CTuttle @ 65
You said the S word
;>)
I’m with Mommybrain.
This is one of those bands I just don’t get.
It’s not that I dislike them.
They are the aural equivilent of beige.
Mavis, on the other hand…
On the rock tip, the Arctic Monkeys’ Favorite Worst Nightmare is brilliant.
(Teddy Picker would be my fave)
(I still don’t get the first one tho…)
CTuttle @ 65
Well, I guess George Steinbrenner and I have this much in common: now neither one of us gives a flying fuck what Giuliani thinks.
Valley Girl @ 70
Pete Stark speaks for me.
It’s about time a dem spoke the truth, even if he gets slammed by his own party for doing so.
Speaking of Chris Dodd! And Joe Biden!
I was so excited I put a piece up at HuffPo about Dodd.
Rush Limpballs sudden hearing loss a few years ago has finally been explained.
A low down, dirty loser.
-GSD
Valley Girl @ 70
Sounds like the truth to me. No wonder it’s too hot for Pelosi to handle.
SteveAudio @ 72
Suzanne @ 68
thank you beautiful one
DB, dayam, I thought I was the S word.
GSD @ 78
I always figured one of his “dates” whacked him upside the head and burst his ear drum. But this is a good theory, too.
Hey SteveAudio!
How soon will you be rewiring the darkness within Shrub (aka the guy just likes blowing things up)? Because his track lighting definitely needs your expert advice.
Ya know, I am not a Radiohead fan
(they are another band that i ‘don’t get’)
but i plunked down 2#45 for an inrainbows download because i think it is a perfect marketing approach
and for the bigtime fans who want an object, they can shell out 40 quid for the coffee table edition, which i understand is stunning
Suzanne @ 82
You’re more of a sentence.
GSD @ 78
What can explain Harry Reid’s inability to hear?
madmommy @ 83
I thought Limbaugh’s hearing loss predated the release of V*agra. Or was he onboard early for the animal testing?
Yeah, I’m sure Capitol execs are pretty pissed off, but when your cash cow says jump, it’s a good idea to jump, in fact.
I do have a minor blogfight going on over at my place. The guy is so obnoxious and, well, nuts.
I do not want to drive any traffic to this guy’s site, because that is clearly his goal. He throws grenades like this:
Like I said, nuts. So I pull the pin on the grenade, and throw it back:
Why do I wrestle with pigs? You both get dirty and the pig likes it. Insanity.
OFG, first and foremost, it’s not factual! Maybe, a couple hundred die in performance of their duties during peacetime… Usually, during manuevers, to attain those numbers you’d have to expand it to GI’s killed off-duty due to DUI, or something similar.
SteveAudio @ 101
I was lucky to have worked with Billy in the studio several times. Great balls of fire, what a musician. He freaked out really seasoned studio players, he was that good. And a nice man, too.
Dodd is our modern day Don Quixote, tilting at a forest of telephone poles that he sees as giants, staining the reputation of his chaste Dulcinea.
A strange view of something so very serious, nevertheless it is how I see it.
hecklers dragged out of Maher’s show….
Edwards sounding great [is my bias showing? ya think?]….
Maher asking whether the Ellen outburst is well timed when America’s asking whether we should have a woman president….
Chris Matthews commenting after Maher talks to Kasparov, ever get the feeling they’re playin’ chess and we’re playin’ checkers–observation on the dumbing down of American politics.
Tiddlywinks, Chris. Tiddlywinks…
Just another wacky Friday in Bush’s America.
CTuttle,
Facts!?!? Pshaw! A kernel of stunted factoids lie at the root of all rightard spin, which resembles nothing to the fruit they bear.
T-I remember that post. You are too kind. Many, many heartfelt comments were sent Janes way that day. This is a great crowd of people.
It’s late here and I am just about to go to bed. As far as music goes, I actually studied it in college and now the only music I make an effort to listen to is my own. I know, kind of sad. But there is of course so much that I like and also so much I consider to be anti-art. And my tastes run from Beethoven to Hank Williams to Ornette Coleman. (by the way, in case you didn’t know, Miles Davis is a god)
Concerning my music, I’m reminded of what Floyd the bass player with Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem (on the Muppet Show) said to Kermit when he told Kermit he wanted to write a new theme song for the show:
“You won’t like it.” Floyd said. “If I didn’t know I was a genius, I wouldn’t like it.”
Just kidding of course. But I really don’t expect people to like the music I compose. In fact I would question their sanity if they do. But it speaks to me and I feel the need to write it.
70 punished in accidental B-52 flight
By PAULINE JELINEK, Associated Press Writer Fri Oct 19, 7:58 PM ET
WASHINGTON – The Air Force said Friday it would punish 70 airmen involved in the accidental, cross-country flight of a nuclear-armed B-52 bomber following an investigation that found widespread disregard for the rules on handling such munitions.
“There has been an erosion of adherence to weapons-handling standards at Minot Air Force Base and Barksdale Air Force Base,” said Maj. Gen. Richard Newton, the Air Force deputy chief of staff for operations.link
VINCENT
The miracle you witnessed. I
JULES
Do you know that a miracle is?
VINCENT
An act of God.
JULES
What’s an act of God?
VINCENT
I guess it’s when God makes the
impossible possible. And I’m sorry
Jules, but I don’t think what
happened this morning qualifies.
JULES
Don’t you see, Vince, that shit
don’t matter. You’re judging this
thing the wrong way. It’s not
about what. It could be God
stopped the bullets, he changed
Coke into Pepsi, he found my
fuckin’ car keys. You don’t judge
shit like this based on merit.
Whether or not what we experienced
was an according-to-Hoyle miracle
is insignificant. What is
significant is I felt God’s touch,
God got involved.
VINCENT
But why?
JULES
That’s what’s fuckin’ wit’ me! I
don’t know why. But I can’t go
Alex Ross, the New Yorker music critic – he’s brilliant – comments in his new article there, that –
Like many people, I started blogging out of an urgent need to procrastinate.
Great line, even better article, titled The Well-Tempered Web. The NYer is starting to give more HTML links in their articles, and Ross’s compendium of classical music resources on the web, is worth bookmarking for those alone.
These are the arguments that oilfieldguy’s poster presented:
1- Political progress (as you should know) can only be achieved once stability is accomplished, the surge is a military operation undertaken by the military not a political action by politicians.
* Right, the surge is a military operation undertaken by the military, not a political action by politicians…D’uh….that is why there is no political progress.
2- You are ignoring the primary statistic (of course) which is civilian casualties caused primarily by Al Qaeda in a failed effort to start “civil war”.
* There is a civil war. It is between civilian Iraqis. Al-Qaeda, whoever they are, are not part of it. They are not Iraqis, therefore, they are not part of the “civil” war.
3- The US military loses over 1,000 men and women per year (average)…DURING PEACETIME… so bringing them home only changes the cause of death and their location when it happens.(but I suppose you would rather our troops get run over by a jeep in Arkansas than actually fighting against our enemy in an act of heroism)
* So, it is better to die, if you are gonna die anyway, in Iraq…than in Arkansas, but dying in Iraq is okay…it is better. This guy is saying, you are gonna die anyway, and dying in war is somehow…what…a better..experience. If you are dead, you are dead. Dead is not okay!!!!!!! What part of that don’t these people understand? Death by war is never okay, it is never alright, it is never deserved, or undeserved. How can you define a justification for death, when no one, has ever survived death to tell you whether it is justified? How insane is that? This is what people think. This is how people live their lives…it is insanity.
SteveAudio and others- something that I learned as a result of FDL comments about Dodd is that his father Thomas Dodd was the #2 prosecutor at the Nuremburg trials.
from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_J._Dodd
~~Both Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, chief prosecutor for the U.S., and Dodd insisted upon a fair and legal trial to prosecute the Nazi war criminals. Dodd accepted Justice Jackson’s offer to join him in Germany. Dodd expected the position to last only several months, but he wound up spending 15 months there.~~~
Comment/ editorial from Chris Dodd’s gov site: Senator Dodd: What My Father Saw at Nuremberg
~~~snip: Today, we debate secret prisons, suspension of habeas corpus, warrant-less searches and wiretaps. The president even asks us to reinterpret the Geneva accords to sanction the torture of enemy prisoners.
Just as the word “Nuremberg” once defined the United States’ moral authority and commitment to justice, what we risk today is that, one day, the loss of that moral authority and a commitment to injustice may also be defined by a single word: “Guantanamo.”~~~

Ummm….What???? Ummm…say, what???
“The missiles were supposed to be taken to Louisiana, but the warheads were supposed to have been removed beforehand.
A main reason for the error was that crews had decided not to follow a complex schedule under which the status of the missiles is tracked while they are disarmed, loaded, moved and so on, one official said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak on the record.
The airmen replaced the schedule with their own “informal” system, he said, though he didn’t say why they did that nor how long they had been doing it their own way.”
Well, now…I feel better now, knowing everything is under
Cheney’scontrol.The kind of truck I drive is called a winch truck.
That link is to a low-fat version of what I drive. Throw in another axle behind and beef-up the whole damn thing and you have a close idea.
The “winch” is below the back window–we call it a yo-yo. Note in the picture their is no cable (we call it twine) on the yo-yo.
My “twine” is one-inch cable with 108,000lbs breaking strength. It is used to drag stuff up onto the trailer. If the load is real heavy, I double my twine.
Right now I have a 116,000 lb gas compressor on my trailer. I have 38 tires on the ground.

katymine @ 199
Madmommy, I’ll get the details for you and post them here in a sec — I’m not in SoCal, but I read about it in passing earlier today — stand by ;-)
Edit — I meant “Mommybrain” — sorry!
Suzanne @ 192
None of them eat oysters in a month with ‘R’ in it.
;>)
Before the NYT switches over to Saturday op-ed columns, this, from Krugman:
Couple that with the news of Chinese laboring class coming up with thousand dollar donations to the Hillary campaign and there could be real trouble a-brewin’ re Hillary’s campaign financing.
Something to sleep on….
Suzanne @ 198
That is the name of a town???? Ewww! That’s the bloody stuff that feeds a baby.
Can I get in on this meetup? Where in Placentia (I’ve always called it placenta, of course)?
VG is a former mod.
Suzanne @ 203
At least that institution can be proud of 3 out of 4.
oh double crap, maybe placentia is the street and it is in costa mesa…
where’s burns, loohoo or demi when a gal needs them!
Suzanne @ 192
Err.. All born in CT…?!!!
Suzanne @ 198
Due to some bad information fed to Suzanne from the Lurking Mod… Costa Mesa is the correct answer.
my bad
LoudounLib @ 204
I’d love to go, but SoCal is a bit of a drive for me. Mommybrain can represent the mommy guild of FDL quite proudly, I’m sure.
from burns’ post at Late Nite FDL firepups on FB:
We’re planning a meetup of Orange County/San Diego/Greater SoCal firepups.
Saturday, November 3, starting around noon, at Wahoo’s Fish Taco, 1862 Placentia Avenue in Costa Mesa.
Hope you can make it!
darkblack @ 169
db- I like that! I really like that! Maybe shortstop emeritus!
As a former baseball fan (1994 strike and steroids ruined it for me)…. I was fascinated by the role of the shortstop. I was thinking about this just the other eve. It’s the most random, jack-of-all trades, never know what to expect slot on the field.
Suzanne— I kind of cheated….. had a lovely dinner and evening at Yearlykos with redshift & Mrs redshift …. already know the other three are Yale grads
Placentia is the town. Is it at someone’s house? YooHOo, LooHoo!
madmommy @ 214
I boo-booed and edited my original ;-)
What are the names of Jane’s dogs?
Mommybrain, see me at #215
Suzanne @ 220

SnarKassandra @ 222

My apologies to VG.
Dear Suzanne, please do not use Valley Girl and positions in the same sentence.
Now I must was my mind out with soap.

Unlike the tragic clowns of 3rd base, and the alienated hermits of deep left field
;>)
Mommybrain!!! Didn’t know you were SoCal.
Saturday for lunch on 11/3.
Wahoo’s Fish Taco, 1862 Placentia Ave., Costa Mesa. Noonish. I’ll be the chubby guy wearing a 2005 ACC Tournament hat.
Take the 55 south to where it turns into Newport Boulevard. Turn right on 19th Street, then left on Placentia. It’s about two blocks down on the left.

I played shortstop for about fifteen minutes in little league. Way yonder too much action over there for me. I’m a second base man myself.

What car did Suz drive in her impetuous youth, and how did she fund gas money?
almost too sad to post tonite. I love all my kittehs, but my favorite guy probably has cancer (biopsy results next wed or thurs) and at the rate it seems to be progressing, probably weeks left. Maybe a few months. Give all your fuzzies extra skritches n snuggles.
Like an idiot, almost mentioned it on facebook, but cat is college-age daughter’s special baby, she doesn’t know yet (she checks my page to superpoke me etc). Gonna be hard to tell her.
Suzanne @ 244
Wow — a Late Late Nite with only 57 comments?
Mommybrain @ 218
You saw the restaurant? I’d love to have it at my house, but I’m too far south. (North San Diego County)
Please everyone, spread the word. I’m certainly hoping that two people from out of the area (one from Phoenix and one from the Bay area will be joining us) Everyone welcome! As Burnspbesq suggested, people can fly into John Wayne Airport and we can pick you up.
Oilfieldguy @ 242
Huh, both those spots are occasional.
The BACKSTOP is in on every pitch . . . and he calls the shots, too, if he’s any good.
Hard work, too . . . MUCH harder than any other, 162 times a season . . . my knees ache just thinking about it.
GO BEANTOWN!!! KICK TRIBE ASS!!!!
I’m gonna break out my bloody sock on Saturday . . . . and WAVE IT HIGH AND WIDE!
*G*
What kinda dog does CHS have?

Suzanne @ 35
There he was, then he wasn’t?
*POOF*
He’s gettin laid, finally, isn’t he . . . (hi mod’s)
An fdl meet and greet is a great idea. Sounds like this one is fairly well set. Perhaps some future one could be set where a lake is involved, and a campfire, and some dogs.
VG, I didn’t drive it – it was my best friend’s car – i was just in charge of the gas tank
I just thought of a great bumpersticker:

I’m hoping it goes the full 7 games. For the extra baseball, natch, but also to have the AL teams beat the tar out of each other thereby softening them up for the NL to prevail. Thereby assuming their rightful place as the senior circuit.
darkblack @ 263
Nope.
Oilfieldguy @ 265
That’s the Texas one! Camping too.
Suzanne @ 252
One that likes little kids.
punaise @ 262
{{{{{{ late nite firepups}}}}}}} Thanks for sympathy, everyone, but esp to Louis le chat. I have seen pictures of him and he is a very handsome gentleman.
Suzanne @ 266
Oh, sorry Suz. I misread your earlier comments on the subject. Somehow, forgive me for misreading, it just seemed so “you”. hehe
What is The Lurking Mod’s favorite food?
Loo Hoo. @ 209
And I trashed TRex’s pad more than a couple of times while she was on shift….

Getting set up over the weekend to blog theAlaska GOP big oil corruption-based USA vs. Victor Kohring trial through next week – at least. Doing lotsa research.

Perhaps I should have rephrased that.. what is TLM’s favorite hurry up and release a moderated comment treat?
Anyone want to see a Scouse cat?
Michael Scott @ 271
love it!
wrong, db – and the lids were held in my bra but i didn’t deal
SnarKassandra @ 267
Most all of us at 17 were like that, whether we admitted it to anyone or ourselves . . . anyone who would talk to us or pay us attention were attractive . . .
Once IN a situation involving adult behavioirs, it was always a different thing.
Once into our mid 20’s our own identities took shape, and we knew what we really wanted to be.
Don’t be fooled easily Mizz Snarky . . . your identity is YOURS to find and discover . . . and yer too smart for anything less, as others have pointed out.
LoudounLib @ 291
Very pretty kitty but I have never heard of such a breed.

Did I link to my blog since I posted about lying to kids?
Ed*ard Teller @ 276
ET, as I have said before, I don’t even remember that. Sorry. That is not to say that you are not a MEMORABLE fdl commenter. And, I do have a pretty good memory.
Back when I was a mod, I read every comment. Course, fdl did not have nearly the number of comments that it does not. Not at all.
But, as a result, I pretty much knew where everyone was coming from with whatever comments they made, and knew the good guys from the trouble makers.
If I gave you grief, it was bec. I thought you might need a slap upside the head. I have been known to do that. But, I never ever thought that you were anything other than a “good guy”. A gem, actually.
Suzanne @ 303
good times
SnarKassandra @ 267
I’ve not heard of pansexual, either. New term?
Ed*ard Teller @ 280
love your reports. Are you live blogging it at your site? I’ll read it, however you present it. Will it be at this blog?
Christine Edmonson @ 307
it takes a lot of skill, it.
Loo Hoo. @ 303
As much as I would love to, a trip from Louisiana to SoCal is a bit much. Throw the kiddos in the mix and it becomes nearly psychotic on my part. If only my check from Soros would arrive I might have a few extra bucks in the cookie jar.
Mommybrain @ 284
Hey! You are a woman with seriously excellent taste!
tw3k @ 246
double dang!
i have done all of youtubes’ help centers’ instructions for this, but
“Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe’s Flash Player.” still comes up with all these newer “Beta” youtubes:
javascript IS enabled; i have uninstalled flash per adobe instructions and re-installed freshly downloaded flash.
many times.
yet my XP Pro sp2 machine will not play them in either Firefox2.0.0.7 nor the latest IE.
Whereas the same videos play fine on my iMac, in Both Firefox and Safari.
iMac and dell both feed from the same router.
notes to youTube were not encouraging:
i don’t think i like their tone.

no, we’re setting up a new blogspot for the trial, because my co-blogger and I are in total disagreemant about the guilt or not guilt of ex-Rep. Kohring. Neither of us want the coverage to be anything but unique. It will be. It will be something like usavsvictorkohring dot whatever….
SnarKassandra @ 301
My comment wasn’t about boys, or anything you like.
It was about YOU, your growth, at your age. And being shaped by others.
It would appear, despite your post, you are in good shape for being shaped by your OWN beliefs, thoughts, and desires. That’s solid.
Thass all I was tryin to get thru to, U . . . Yer Aunt Betsy, and yer self, seem to be well in charge of yer self growth . . . that’s a good thing. Live large, and love and laugh loudly!

And if the claim was true (which it isn’t – ven for the raw numbers) then why are we paying these soldiers in Iraq all these bonuses for combat tours? If they were simple at the smae risk as if they stayed at home then the shouldn’t deserve higher pay…or be treated as heros any more than the guys sitting in Korea or Arkansas.
BTW the rates of accidental death are much higher in Iraq because of the efforts used to avoid attacks (driving fast, or simply having so many “live weapons” and munitions around).
In addition, the raw numbers are irrelevant. There are millions of US Dept. of Defense employees based in the US while there are only about 170,000 in Iraq. To calculate the RATE of accidental deaths in both areas one has to scale it to the sample population.
This is the same sort of bulldada that they try to use when they claim that the fatalities are less than what police face in a major American city…and that total Iraq deaths are no worse than Philadelphia.
larue @ 347
i think robert fripp et al, are (also) still alive.
or, as is likely, have i missed your intent here?
is the frickin’ “I’m not dead yet!” thread?
