i didn’t expect to be lied to (at least not so dramatically) by speaker pelosi. i’m having trouble getting past that.

It’s frustrating..but frustration = Thugs win.
We need to keep our eyes on our goals:
1)Dem President and retake the govt
2)Defeat as many thugs at all levels as possible
3)More and better Dems

John Dean is right; if we don’t accomplish #1 and a lot of #2, this country is in for long night and will need a new Constitutional Convention in order to return to daylight

Why can we raise the money and use it to pick our candidates? The dems are thuggish as the repugs. So wht reward them. Personally I think Pelosi, Emmanuel, Hoyner and the rest of the blue dogs are no better than Liebermann. They should be defeated.

Jeebus!!! No debate, no nothing. A corporation is a person under the Constitution.

Now I know which SCOTUS shyster Judge to blame on the takeover of the US by the Corporatists.

Which is absurd, the Constitution speaks of “persons” as human beings that are born, reach ages, and have all the other characteristics of human beings.

If corporations are “persons” then they could, theoretically, be entitled to vote, hold political office, be imprisoned (would that mean all the board of directors, stockholders, and employees as a “corporate entity”?), and other ridiculous notions. How could individuals within that “person” then sue itself? And how can one person be several others? That really throws into the slammer the concept of the counting of “persons” for the purpose of Representation? If people in a State start creating tens of thousands of small corporations, then does that State get more Representatives in Congress?

Corporations are PROPERTY. Property that is owned collectively. And the founders were not unaware of such entities. In fact they considered the collective unification of factions influencing the political process as insidious and dangerous to the Republic. Just look at what they said about political parties.

For that reason I think that restricting campaign contributions to “citizens” (i.e. persons eligible to vote) would be the first important step to cleansing our political process of the poison of this bribery. After all, it’s well recognized that foreign corporations cannot make contributions to US politicians. But why then would a corporation with substantial foreign ownership, headquartered in the US, be allowed to do so, simply because of the location of their headquarters? These absurdities are only “created” by this absurd extension of “personhood” to corporations.

In her reply to my ADAMANT request that she DENY the confirmation, she tells me she’s in support of my viewpoint and is solid and right with THIS Larue!!!

And then comes this from her statement to The Rules Committee:

“Faced with the likelihood that the Rules Committee would vote to support the nomination of von Spakovsky, Senator Feinstein agreed to report the four nominees to the Senate without recommendation.”

So if I get this right, Sci Fi MOVED IT FORWARD, but opposed Spakovsky, as to, say, NOT PHREAKIN MOVING IT FORWARD!!!!

i think the big message is: why isn’t the house dem leadership supporting the holt bill? do they care about the 4th amendment? basket warrants?

but what it really takes is someone who can tell a story and/or make a point in 15 seconds or less. i’d still be explaining some potentially irrelevant detail.
