I really dislike having to say this for I was a Pelosi voter and die-hard supporter of Nancy. I have egg on my face. The Speaker is a failure for two reasons. For not cutting off funding for Iraq and taking impeachment “off the table”.

We did, but then the DLCers, the Blue Dogs triangulated and now we’re fighting The Source, Billary itself.

There seems to be a tiny lull in the campaign as fought here on fdl. We had Hillaryites over and bashed ‘em pretty good, maybe enlightened a few. But, now there’s nothing going on and I feel like I’m wandering around an empty house.

Just what is next for the online campaign? I mean, neither Clinton nor Obama is just going to take their beating laying down. They’ve got all that money and they’re expected to make some gurgling noises or something they can claim is political rhetoric.

Sigh, this is just too easy. C’mon somebody, put up a fight. Hillary fights like a (deaf mute) girl and Barack just follows behind her like a puppy dog.

Add to my previous post: I’d bet that 99% of the people who work for the police agencies listed above are fine, upstanding civil servants.

But corruption is embedded in Blackwater, as are any number of bad apples in said agencies.

And Pelosi has been suspect in her ‘progressive’ credentials (as untainted by corporate donors that is) ever since the ‘evenhanded’ slap at Howard Dean.

Howard Dean made a comment about America being evenhanded in its dealings with both israel and Palestine, and Pelosi and others in the ‘house’ (refuse to capitlize it at this point) sent Dean a letter condeming his use of the forbidden word “evenhanded.” Most absurb over reaction I had ever heard. Well, republicans do it all the time, but this was absurd.

So, Pelosi has not been a ‘true leader’ of democrats for quite some time in my mind. The mind of one who will never forget her faux outrage at Dean. *grump*

This is what’s known as a dilemma. Republicans will always try to seize advantage of any issue, any issue, because they’re not animated by principle; I think we call it “jujitsu” here. Protecting Judith Miller was important to them yesterday. Tomorrow attacking some other journalist will be of more benefit. We got Libby convicted and both Novak and Miller exposed and to some degree demoted; let that be some satisfaction.

No need to feel bad. I am in the same position. I worked on her first campaign putting my life on hold and my kids on the back burner to get her elected. Well, my kids turned out fine and have surpassed me when I was their age. Nancy, well, not so much. I’d do it again for another new candidate if I thought we were making headway. Nancy is more like a child that went awry when they grew up. I just can’t dwell on my disappointment.

In summary, I think she was genuine as my representative but the longer she stayed and the higher the position, the poorer her performance. Most good sales people make terrible CEOs.

So how does congress protect the American public and National Security from journalist like Judy Miller (lied about sources and WMD’s), Robert Novak (outed a CIA agent) and the “alleged” passing of classified intelligence from journalist to officials or agents of a foreign country.

They are discussing the passing of a Shield Law on the floor. How do you keep the free flow of information open and journalist are able to protect their sources,and at the same time protect the public from journalist who have agendas that have nothing to do with shedding the light on the truth, or getting accurate information to the public? Novak disclosing Plame’s identity did not benefit the public. This disclosure undermined National Security and hurt the American public. Judy Miller hurt our country and the people of Iraq by reporting Lies about Iraq. Miller is drowning in the Iraqi peoples blood and American soldiers blood

I want to know how we make sure journalist like this suffer serious consequences for their very serious and destructive crimes. Journalist are not omnipotent
