I suppose, because I’m an empathy-sick, bleeding-heart liberal, I can’t help but wonder what happened to Michelle Malkin to turn her from a beautiful little girl of Filipino descent into the vicious, racist, class warrior & hate-filled ideologue she has become? As posted upthread, in one of her many declarations of victimhood, she claims she’s been called many racist names & told to “go back where you come from”. I believe her, but I also wonder how someone who has undergone such mindless, bigoted, vilification then becomes a perpetrator of exactly the same behaviour, aligning herself, ethically, socially & politically, with precisely those who victimized her earlier? Did she internalize the slurs, aspire to the power & seek the approval of those who had bullied her? Did she subconsciously decide, if you can’t beat ‘em become ‘em?

As much as I find her opinions repulsive, I can’t help but find Malkin herself terribly sad. And knowing that my pity would doubtless enrage her, makes me find her even sadder.

Malkins greatest problem with regards to her TV appearances is that she comes across as exactly what she is in real life: a Lhasa Apso who sees herself as a Rottweiler.

I agree. Gore would be foolish to run again when there’s so much he can do in his current role, and so much respect that will accrue to him as a result. Why submit himself to the slimebags?

An honest and committed anti-global warming president can do more on this issiue than a private citizen. The president has the ‘bully-pulpit’. And arm twisting abilities and other resources.

Malkin was bombing in the ratings; the last time I checked, the show dropped by a couple hundred points from the night before when she was hosting.

The picture of the house is plain old reporting; asking for the tax returns is jumping to the beat of wingnut sliming on the basis of no evidence whatsoever, Howie. If you were an actual journalist rather than a hack apologist, that would be obvious to you.

What disturbs me is the quality of the reporting. For example, reporting that the children go to expensive schools without bothering to note that they’re on scholarships. While it’s not lying, it could be taken of a piece toward harrassment. IANAL, etc.

It’s the selectiveness of the reporting, really. Just choosing the bits and pieces that you think will paint the picture that YOU want.
