I tried to find Lonesome LA Cowboy by New Riders of the Purple Sage. Unfortunately, the best I culd do was the lyrics:

Rough cut! That’s cool I hadn’t heard that copy before.

This is actually from a video they did in 1984 that had a UK release only. I had a friend who moved here in 1985 whose dad was in the military and was based in England who moved his family to Indianapolis where he was from after he retired. My friend John had a whole collection of PAL format videotapes and a PAL format VCR and TV that we would watch all these great videos I had no idea existed. Sex Pistols, Depeche Mode, Pink Floyd material never seen here, Yes, and a bunch of one hit wonders he recorded off the telly. I wish I knew where John was these days, he had great taste in tunes.

OK, here is a perfect example of the things I saw/heard in the 80s that made me go HUH?!WHA?!? This song has been heard a million times in clubs and decent radio, but its this video with the imperfections and audio baubles and live stuff going on that truly influenced me. I blame New Order, The Terminator, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails and Blade Runner for turning me into the oddball I am today musically.
