Just as a personal question — do you guys find these types of posts helpful in terms of targeting information to the people who need to hear from you? Am always trying to make this more effective (hence my questions to the staffer folks on which means of contact is best, etc.) — and am wondering what is best for you guys in terms of contact information as well.

Any thoughts on this are much appreciated.

1) the issues weren’t all laid out for me
2) helpful comments to get my own thoughts together weren’t abundant and
3) the phone numbers were right there with no need to go searching

Also, Christy, I can get together all the fax #s for Sens. & Reps. I’ve looked up over the past few months & email a list to you. I usually fax, so list is pretty comprehensive. Bit busy today prepping for a business trip to Seattle, but can do that early next wk.

I have to say there are many people feeling this way. Like this isn’t the country we grew up in. See C&L comments for a classic rant. Many people are feeling so disenfranchised when they’ve never felt that way before (me included).

There have been times I have been displeased with government officials in my life time, but I could live with those disagreements. Now, I’m wondering what the FFs had to experience with the increased sanctions, taxes, etc from British government that did not benefit the colonies but the King, in order to rise up and say No More. It took tons of courage that I didn’t really appreciate until now.

Like many people, I’m willing to stay and fight for my country. But I will admit, that I have spent quite a bit of time looking into the people who managed to flee Nazi Germany while they still could, and I’ve tried to figure out what events would be the signal that it was time to get out.

I haven’t come up with any answers yet, but I have tried to figure out how to get out if things got that bad and how to make sure I had enough money to survive on.

It’s sad that I’ve actually had to give those kinds of things serious thought, but I don’t think we’re there yet. And hopefully we can stop it from getting that bad.
