Taxing the companies adds up to the same thing. That tax will be passed directly to the retailer. The large companies never really pay when you charge it all back to the customers.

And by the way, when you drag cigars along with the cigarettes tax wise, you will put thousands of impoverished Latin Americans out of work. Make that 100s of thousands. No pun intended but pick your poison.

I thought the purpose of a strike is to shut day to day business down to make a point. If it’s on a Saturday wouldn’t it be more of a protest?

Please hold up on the date. We’ll get a lot more people if we can pull this off on a Saturday. Union people will still be insured and hourly workers will not lose wages. I think it’s important that the first date be a Saturday. From my workplace alone, there would probably be twenty more people involved.

Let me know what day to not-write, and I will totally be all over the not-writing.

Isn’t it somewhat ironic that to fund children’s health insurance requires that another group of people MUST smoke. Well fuck then….enough of the anti-smoking laws. Let’s everybody chain smoke our lungs black so we can insure every child. The logic is way on the far side of stupid.

Geez, it’s not a work strike/stoppage if it’s on a weekend and a day off . . . what part of that am I missing?

. . . I thought a work stoppage and strike was about sacrifice, and making a point.

But if ya wanna take a weekend day to do it, I’ll bring my portable TV, we can watch the playoffs, and I’ll have lots of non union cold Coors in my cooler. A lil bbq, mesquite coals, some German Potato Salad, and Sweet Tea and lemonade for our Southern pals.
