You know, Michelle, every time I think that you and your fellow travelers have hit rock bottom and that you can’t possibly become any more loathsome and despicable, you find another trap door and gleefully sink to new depths. Who knew that the single greatest threat to Our Way of Life in This Great Country is actually sick and injured children? I applaud your courage in taking on this vile threat to America and to all Americans, and your fearlessness in gassing up your mini-van and going to snoop around the Frost family’s property all on your own. Go, you intrepid little citizen journalist, go!
You know, I think that it will be quite the feather in your cap when someone in the Frost family becomes so overcome by the volcano of hatred and harassment you have helped to aim their way that they throw themselves off a building. You know, like your old target Denice Denton.
David Weigel of Hit and Run says that UC-Santa Cruz Chancellor Denice Denton killed herself on June 24. Last April, Denton was a target of one of Michelle Malkin’s hate campaigns. Malkin published Denton’s address in this post because Denton had failed to expel students who had ignited Malkin’s wrath. To be fair, this article indicates Denton had drawn fire from people other than Malkin.
Now, I know you like to make a lot of noise about how Denton’s suicide wasn’t your fault, but I can’t imagine that having threats of violence and death from your readers pouring in through her phone, fax, and email can have not affected her decision to plunge to her death from a 40-story building. Imagine the pressure of having all those Tim McVeigh Stormfront types calling you up 24 hours a day to whisper to you about their assault rifle with the laser scope and how they will be watching your every move and waiting for an opportunity to get a clear shot at your head.
But hey, I know, that’s how y’all roll, you and your Freeper wannabes, not to mention the unhinged intimidation campaigns of guys like Patterico, Jeff Goldstein, and Joshie Trevino, who also enjoy publishing the private contact information of their ideological opponents. What’s with you people, anyway? Why are you so eager to sic your mouth-breathing, inbred, sheet-wearing, gun-humping toadies on us, anyway? What are you so afraid that we will say that you must send your idiotic minions to harass and intimidate us into silence?
You know, nobody has your number quite like Dave Neiwert, who sees the direct connection between the kind of unhinged assaults on private citizens that your kind loves so much and the massacres that violent talk radio spawned in Rwanda:
Remember, most recently, what happened in Rwanda: the owners of talk radio stations, working in the interest of the moneyed class, used their megaphones to target individuals who were then slaughtered by mobs armed with machetes:
- “In Rwanda,” Gowing writes, “hate radio … systematically laid the groundwork for mass slaughter from the moment it was licensed in July 1993.” It also helped facilitate the genocide, as RTLM broadcast names, addresses and license plate numbers of Tutsi targets. “Killers often carried a machete in one hand and a transistor radio in the other,” according to Power.
This is exactly where your tactics and reasoning are headed, so I hope you’re proud of yourself. Clearly anyone in this country who stands up to you lowlifes and your slavish desire to lick the boots of the Republican party is fair game, up to and including children who have been gravely injured as well as their struggling families. Nice. I can’t tell you how proud that makes me to be an American.
It could be argued that turnabout is fair play and that anyone on our side who came into possession of your contact information would have a moral obligation publish it post-haste to give you a taste of your own tactics. I, however, would never publish your information because I am morally opposed to that. I would never use my position here as a means to turn out the attack dogs on a person and their family. I respect your right as an American to express your opinion (however hare-brained and ill-thought-out it may be) without fear of intimidation or violent reprisal.
It’s a pity you can’t do the same.
See you in hell, honey!
T.Rex, Esq.
P.S. Righty apostate John Cole at Balloon Juice has dredged up a blast from your past called, “When the Left Invades Our Privacy” that’s downright hi-larious given your stance on the privacy of the Frost family. Tell me, you little genocidal pinhead, does the cognitive dissonance give you headaches? Make your ears ring? Or are you comfortable with the fact that you are blessed with the moral consistency of a border collie on crystal meth?

TRex !!
TRex!
Good Evening Fire Pups…TRex, great snark this evening!
Attack, attack, attack!
i never saw the “there are no comments” message before … left me quite stunned … glad to see someone knew what to do.
and trex, thx for warming up the snarkfest …
Thanks for remembering the crap Malkin did when the shoe was on the other foot. She — like much of the rest of the right — is just completely shameless.
It’s okay if you’re a Republican, indeed.
Anything at all.
Someone ought to make them answer to the rest of us, instead of just the voices inside their own heads, since I don’t think Howard Kurtz is up to that particular job.
Yay, TRex!!! Been missing your snark whilst I was overseas :-)
This behavior from a woman who claims to have moved in order to protect her precious babies from leftie moonbats. What utter tripe.
EPU’d: The high tech lynching of the Frost family by Right Blogistan hits the front page of the NYT .
Dressed in her finest silver diving suit, shorts and a t-shirt, Snarky walks slowly from the clubhouse to the lake. She folds her clothes and her towel neatly into her cubby and gives Suzanne an “I’m Sorry” hug and a kiss, and waves to all the firepups. She climbs slowly up the ladder, skips across the board, stops to make sure no one is right under the ladder, and then leaps in the air and does scissor kicks all the way down. She then swims over to TRex and starts a conversation that has nothing at all to do with the post. (No clue what the post is talking about.)
and on topic, these people are so strange. I mean, they piss me off and so I can relate to a quality snarky diss like trex has above, but moving beyond that to what they do. what’s wrong with them? how much is just a cynical play for money, knowing that it’ll sell to the wingnuts, and how much is just clueless evil blundering?
doesn’t really matter — it sucks …
Evening TRex! I can always count on you to take these miserable excuses for humanity to the woodshed. Would that the MSM had half the intestinal fortitude of our very own theropod.
TRex, Somehow, I just knew you were gonna tee off on Miz Malkkkin…!!!
Fuckery! Fuckery! Fuckery!
I take it back. I do know who the Frost family is, and I do know that the right wingers are bothering them and lying about them.
Evening, all.
How is everyone?
Cassie distracted me from the zed!!
;-)
peanutbutter @ 19
We finished that 15 minutes ago. Not my fault.
Snarkalicious! Tho the subject gives me a hecka case of heartburn, its worth it for the snark.
One minor quibble. TRex honey, while i sincerely hope there is a hell so that the rightards can burn in it, no way are you going there. You’ll have to let Billio or Rush Bimbo see her there.
allan_in_upstate @ 11
Yeah, I think this story may have legs. And good.
It’s about time someone called out the Brownshirts of the Right and showed how sick and sad their tactics are.
I am going to ignore this and hug and listen to my new Annie Lennox album.
Really.
Damn it, do I really have to get as pissed as this makes me want to be?
nuff said
Satan wouldn’t touch Malkin’s soul with a ten-foot pitchfork.
Eh, they will either stalk you to death or cut of funding for your medication. Either way they silence you.
SnarKassandra @ 20
Yeah I know. Hadda blame someone…hence the wink.
While I confess I never gave her crystal meth, I’m pretty confident that my border collie would have had better and more consistent morals than MM even if on drugs.
TRex @ 22
At least until we’re distracted with a kidnapped white woman.
newdealfarmgrrrlll @ 21
maybe there are day tours to hell?
TRex @ 18
I am doing well. Finished homework early and had time to write a reaction to another teen blogger’s post about government sex ed videos. Those videos use kids too. Think the right wingers will get mad at the govt for that???
Suzanne @ 6
Evening, Ma Cheri! What was the consensus of last nite’s debate over Cassie’s Board Privileges…??? *g*
…on 29.
Or lapel pins! WTF!
tw3k @ 24
Why would TRex go to hell? He is a nice therapod, and he even stopped doing drugs.
petedownunder @ 28
At least when Timmy fell down the well, Lassie didn’t harass his parents about taking state aid to pay the doctor.
lee5 @ 30
heh! wouldn’t that be a fun tour!
TRex @ 22
Ding!
maybe she can team up with Pat Buchanan’s brother….
Buchanan Kin Is to Surrender Over Threats
By DAVID STOUT
Published: May 20, 1999
A brother of Patrick J. Buchanan, the Presidential candidate and conservative commentator, will surrender to the police on charges that he threatened people with a handgun at the home of a relative of a top State Department official, the Buchanan family said today.
Mr. Shearer issued a statement today saying that he had received anonymous death threats after being identified last week on the cable-television program ”Hardball With Chris Matthews” as the man who tried to intimidate Kathleen E. Willey, a former White House volunteer who has accused President Clinton of making an unwanted sexual advance on her. Other media outlets repeated Mr. Matthews’s assertion, which Mr. Shearer has denied.
Mr. Shearer said he ”categorically denies” any intimidation of Ms. Willey, and Mr. Matthews apologized on Tuesday night for mentioning him.
TRex @ 22
The story’s a bit cautious, but they did counter every one of the “screaming points” (they certainly couldn’t be called talking points!) with the facts on the “granite counter” (has our discourse really sunk this low?) and the scholarships and such.
I’m seeing many many more pieces like this that indicate the MSM machine’s cracking. It’s quite something to see.
I’m afraid I’m going to have to insist upon an afterlife with a smoking section.
TSF, if you’re here — downstairs you were looking for info about a race here in Loudoun County. I remember the story you were referring to, but I looked all over Loudoun Extra and can’t find anything on it. And unfortunately I can’t recall exactly who the players are, sorry :-(
The intentional cluelessness just pisses me off no end. The Frost children CANNOT get private insurance for their medical problems, no matter how much money their parents have. There is not an insurance company in America that will cover them. They have the ever-so-handy pre-existing conditions that preclude their coverage. I truly try very hard to see the good in people but I just cannot seem to do it today. This is just so beyond the pale. even for these sick fucks. I probably started a family feud today by sending Christy’s post from this morning to my FOX and Bush loving step-sister, and asked how in the world she can call herself a Christian and still support these subhumans.
Evening all. Taking on the queen of the damned tonight are we. I am certain there is a very special place in hell reserved for La MalKKKin.
TRex @ 40
Can I join you there? *g*
lee5 @ 30
I like to think a corner of hell pokes out as a zoo section in heaven where if you are so inclined, you can saunter past and wave to those inside…
TRex @ 40
Heaven has one. No cancer risk even.
When I see a pic of Malkin the only thing I can think of is “Harpies in heat!”
madmommy @ 42
good for you!
SnarKassandra @ 34
go back and read little snarkly ;)
Lets see if the Dems will stand up for the Frost family or just use them and move on. If they are being harassed or receiving threats, Steny should call MD Gov. and have the State Police kick some ass. I am not optimistic.
I spotlit this post to Michelle’s buddy at the WaPo, Howie Kurtz, and his supervisors, managers, and executives.
Very nice work, Mr TRex. Rare form.
EvilDrPuma @ 25
That’s true, but then he has some class. I’m sure she sold her soul to some cut-rate junior sub-assitant demon.
DrDick @ 52
For pennies on the dollar!
DrDick @ 43
See my 25.
petedownunder @ 28
I’m pretty sure the same could be said of any creature more highly evolved than a reptile.
katherine Graham Cracker @ 38
how weird is that?
BTW, someone posted about these earlier today:
https://www.tamarackwv.com/catalog/product/product,1381.aspx
I say Obama should get one! ;-)
Welcome home LL!!!!!!!!!!!
We all missed you bunches.
DrDick @ 52
Hell has finally “Frosted” over.
TRex @ 22
I love what Malkkkin sez when confronted with the backing-away Mitch McConnell: “these Republicans deserve to lose their seats.” That’ll go over well when next week’s checks are cut.
Thanks madmommy! I missed all y’all too :-)
LoudounLib @ 41
Hey, LL! Back from Merry Olde? How was the trip?
SnarKassandra @ 31
Nice takedown of the “Just Say Wait” crowd. I’d love to see a hundred teens showing up at a hundred school board meetings, and saying exactly what you said about what teens really need to know.
And the right wingers will get mad about it. Not at the government for using kids in the video, but at you for rubbing their noses in the idiocy that passes for logic in their circles.
madmommy @ 58
I’m still awaiting an update…!!!
how weird is that?
It is weird and it represents the problem with stirring up hate in a population that includes a lot of unstable people with guns.
It certainly hasn’t stopped Pat Buchanan from spewing hate though, although I guess they keep a better eye on Harry -he is probably working on the Tancredo campaign this year (kidding…)
Hi DrD! Got back last night, and the trip was fab :-) Will have pics up on FB hopefully tomorrow!
LoudounLib @ 41
I can’t find it in the WaPo archives either. hmmmmm
CT, patience my friend *g*
It’s disturbing to think how much damage Tweety Matthews has done to the electorate. He’s been peddling his ass-kissing, creepy pervert schtick for over 10 years now?!?
Peterr @ 63
I have a friend who is 16 and is with a 22 yr old guy and they have two kids already and she barely comes to school. Does it matter if she has a ring and a church? It’s just stupid.
I kind of want to defend the wicked witch from comparison with MM. I liked the book Wicked.
So is there an MM legal fund like Drudge’s. If not, I’d like to see her sued so bad she has to rent a cardboard box.
mui @ 71
That would be sweeeeet.
LoudounLib @ 68
What’s that? Cool, Pix too…!!! *g*
SnarKassandra @ 31
One of the better pieces that I have read today; maybe there is some hope for the future.
welcome back LoudounLib! Hope you had an absolutely fabulous time
Is this the one LL?
DrDick @ 52
I know – who does she think she is – the Coultergeist?
Steve-AR @ 74
Thanks!
Hey DrD – get any fishing in on Sunday? I’m waiting for my sis to send the pics – they look pretty good!
tw3k @ 49
I apologize snarkly, I should have reflected more upon your comment. You made a very logical query that my reactionary reply did not merit.
Perhaps TRex could enlighten us both.
P.S went out to have a smoke so an very behind in reading the comments.
I haven’t seen any mention of this by the telejournalists yet. What gives?
Snarky, that’s a good story around here too but that’s a different one than what we were looking for — thanks for posting that though!
Stalkin Malkin…coming to a neighborhood near you – protecting the well off from sick and suffering children everywhere.
.
newdealfarmgrrrlll @ 75
I did, I did indeed…thank you!
That picture of Malkin on the thread this morning was great. Eyes bugged out. Eyes crossed. I think I saw a little saliva from the mouth for a trifecta.
Here’s some OT fuckery for everyone. We now have an Inspector General in NOLA. Except that his office is a cubicle at the library, cause the city allotted a 250K budget. For his salary, an office, staff, and lawyers. And, they want him to use the city attorneys, not independent counsel. We are so screwed.
http://wwl.com/Fielkow:-Inspec…..ns/1068406
LoudounLib @ 83
Hey! Welcome back!
SnarKassandra @ 78
I want to second Steve’s observation. Shows much more sense than most of what I see. Montana actually decided to turn down the federal money for abstinence education this year. Every day I am happier we elected Schweitzer Governor. Slowly but surely some bit of sense and rationality is creeping back in.
First openly gay man elected in Alabama:
We are fuckin everywhere, man.
If this were the U.K., the family could sue Malkkkin for libel, and win.
Of course, if this were the U.K., we’d have an Official Secrets Act.
The First Amendment is your friend, even on days when it doesn’t look that way.
P.S. Rot in hell, Michelle.
madmommy @ 85
Would it be correct to guess that this “budget” comes about because the public wanted an IG but the city government did not? And if so, how does anybody in an elected position expect to survive the next election?
A full 30 minutes before bedtime, Cassie discovers the one-dive-per-evening rule. Confused and befuddled, she recalls her previous dive in comment 12 and imagines doing it again. Instead, she gets her towel and clothing and walks aimlessly around until she remembers where she is going. She wipes feet, enters clubhouse, showers, brushes teeth, and even has time to talk with her family before falling asleep. Somehow, she’s forgotten to say good night to the firepups. Perhaps tomorrow.
Thanks tw3k — wait’ll you see my Scotland pics ;-)
Riesz Fischer @ 81
I think it has something to do with moral compass. In some cases, it’s just nothere. But I woulnd’t be surprised if O’Falafel had MM on to give her presentation of “the facts.” And the two can moo and baaa back and forth on it.Didn’t he claim some kidnapped kid was “having fun?!”
The NYT’s pickup on this story, fair and balanced as it seems, is really quite significant. If the Democrats push this tomorrow (hello???) the newsers might pick it up tomorrow nite.
TeddySanFran @ 89
Just stay away from those bathroom stalls Teddy.
bonkers @ 69
And he has been attacked by the Liberal blogs for 20 years; what a fucking idiot.
Alicia @ 79
Naw, got hung up doing housework. Still hope to go hiking up Big Creek (that’s the big ravine running up into the Bitterroots that you can see from your sister’s front window)this Saturday or Sunday afternoon. May try to do a little fishing over the weekend as well as we are supposed to have gorgeous weather for a change.
TeddySanFran @ 89
Holy shit! In Alabama, who’d a thunk it?
TeddySanFran @ 89
Literally and figuratively.
mui @ 93
You don’t think Pumpkinhead will confront his Republican guests about it on Sunday?
LoudounLib @ 92
paintings?
Riesz Fischer @ 100
Rhetorical question, right?
TeddySanFran @ 88
You always were, the homophobes just pretended otherwise.
TeddySanFran @ 88
Somewhere in Alabama tonight, a good ol’ boy is no doubt apoplectic!
tw3k @ 102
Nope, digital, a la Canon ;-)
LoudounLib @ 105
Ruff the dog is takin’ a whuppin’
DrDick @ 103
Of course, that was before half the homophobes got caught with one foot out of the closet….
LoudounLib @ 105
Isn’t that the way good ol’ boys are supposed to be, 24/7?
EvilDrPuma @ 107
That’s why they are homophobes.
LoudounLib @ 105
ah, well, still can’t wait to see :)
see any uglow while you’re there?
DrDick @ 98
It was waiting for me to leave to beautify up…
Trex, Esq., you capture my revulsion very well.
When I first came here, not knowing any better I used tghe c-word and Jane or Christy told me that was a no-no. So I don’t anymore. But that woman is just vile. It fits her.
I’d have no qualms about posting her info if I ever got it. But she wouldn’t experience the type of shit the Frosts have been putting up with because our people aren’t looney and wouldn’t waste the time harassing her.
calling michelle munchkin a bitch is an insult to dogs. I bet Senate Republicans are reeling about what she said:’if they can’t hold the line, they deserve to lose their seats’. Gag me.
EvilDrPuma @ 91
Evidently the IG position has been around for 10 years, but never filled. People started bitching after Katrina, so they hired Cerasoli, who has excellent credentials, from what I’ve heard and read. But now the city says he has to use the city attorneys which pretty much wrecks that whole independent thing. The city council wants him to get to work. Fieldkow is awesome, the guy in the article linked. Former Saints bigwig, Benson cut him loose when he said the team should stick with the city. He took a big paycut and ran for council. For the last 2 days it has been on local talk radio, but I have searched the local rag top to bottom, dead tree and online, and not one word about it. Zip, nada, zilch. Today they endorsed Jindal. We are so screwed.
Homophobia, n. An irrational fear that you might end up in bed with someone of the same sex, and like it.
burnspbesq @ 109
Isn’t that the way good ol’ boys are supposed to be, 24/7?
Well, true. You’ve lived around here, so you know how they can be ;-)
EvilDrPuma @ 102
Ummm Does Mary Matalin write Timmy’s questions? Certainly seemed so last Sunday when he was “interviewing” Edwards.
I think we need to be calling our local news stations, our local newspapers, and referring to the NYTimes article, ask why this is not being covered by them.
punaise @ 106
My cat’s name is Meow-Meow…!!! ;-)
Linda G @ 113
Actually, a comparison to any life form higher than an intestinal parasite is insulting to that organism.
Now I am really going, but I think THIS is the story LL was looking for.
Heated Crossfire As Parties Angle For Power in Va.
RICHMOND, Oct. 8 — The battle for control of the Virginia General Assembly intensified Monday as top Republican and Democratic leaders traded barbs over who is responsible for the strength of the state’s economy and whether President Bush should be a factor in voters’ decisions this year.
Beerfart Liberal @ 113
We will not ACT in the same way that MMKKK does.. two wrongs does not make a right.
Anyone posting her information will have their comment removed. Period.
TRex @ 40
they have to get the clouds somehow..
TRex, you’re doing God’s Will.
Night Cassie. Sleep well.
OMG – 48hrs on OxyContin and I understand why a specific buffoon is brainless.
Anyone want the pathology report?
CTuttle @ 119
What other name would make it pay attention?
LoudounLib @ 117
Lived around there? Heck, I went to W&L for a year back when it was still all-male and you were expected to wear a coat and tie to class. You want genyoowine good ol’ boys? Just get on I-81 south and keep going.
(yes, I really am that old)
katymine @ 125
Yes!
DrDick @ 55
uh..don’t tell TRex…
Now we all have to find our bliss. As I said this morning, for many of us this can be found with things like raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens. For Michelle Malkin it is stalking gravely injured children and their families…. …..what else would you expect from “our lady of concentration camps“
tw3k @ 126
In my seriously misspent youth, I had a cat named Ratf*cker.
katymine @ 126
Good news I hope?
kirk murphy @ 128
He is a theropod which are avian, not reptilian.
katymine @ 126
Yes, please, if you’re comfortable sharing it. Good news?
DrDick @ 121
Or Plankton. Like on Spongebob.
Nite all.
Dude, the south is so much less Republican than people realize. You don’t have the kind of mass poverty we have here without making more and more Democrats.
burnspbesq @ 128
I know whereof you speak. My bro-in-law is a VMI alum!
katymine @ 126
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{katymine}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
katymine @ 125
And what makes Rush so different from someone lining up at “the store” anyway?
Suzanne @ 123
Didn’t say I’d do it here, dearie.
It was Renal Cell CA which was completely encapsulated inside the Kidney and ALL nodes were negative. It the best report that could be hoped for. In a few words…. Surgery cured me.
Thank the Lord and bless all the pups
DrDick @ 131
I’m absolutely positive, that your rosy-cheeked pupils have similar ‘pet’ names for you…!!! ;-)
katymine @ 141
Glad to hear it. Guess all the positive vibes did their work.
DrDick @ 131
707! That almost makes me want to break out goatse.
katymine @ 142
{{{{{{ katymine }}}}}} Such fantastic news, and we are so glad for you!
katymine @ 141
Wonderful – now start planning that trip!
Is this a civil war or just inter-cultural hullaballoo?
I want to call it the right thing.
-GSD
katymine @ 142
Bingo!
CTuttle @ 142
That is probably one of the nicer ones. ;~)
Katymine, fucking awesome!
great news.
LoudounLib @ 138
Maybe it’s because I’m not a native Southerner, but I just do not get VMI and The Citadel. Safety schools for guys who can’t get into a service academy? What’ll they think of next?
katymine @ 142
YES!!!!!
Thank God.
Go, Katy Go!
kirk murphy @ 151
Exactly….. SO LL where should I go when we do London & Paris in January?
TRex @ 137
Sugar pie, I live here in the very deep south and I agree with you. It’s just moving alot slower than I’d like , and I am still astounded at how many people vote against their own interests over and over because they thing that any day now they are gonna get rich and move out of the double-wide into a gate community.
katymine @ 142
Yay!!!!!!!
katymine @ 141
ah, dayum, I thought you were talk’n bout rush!!!11 Glad you did well!!
burns, I don’t get it either — in my bro-in-law’s case it runs in the family, as his dad went there too. So did his younger brother. I have higher hopes for my nephew (his son).
Great news Katymine. (())
Oy. The eyes cannot stay open. Love you guys! Night.
katymine – awesome news!
katymine @ 141
And bless you, too.
katymine @ 142
WOO HOO!!!!
A toast to katymine with your beverage of choice.
‘night, Loo Hoo!
g’night Loo Hoo, sleep well.
GSD @ 147
Some serious fuckery is afoot, and they do have the Bomb, and, it’s the Taliban…!!! 8-(
GSD @ 148
I’m not sure you can call it a civil war when the central government never exercised more than nominal control over the region. It does, however, have the earmarks of a secession movement. Bear in mind that most of the people in the area are ethnic Pashtuns (same as most Afghanis), along with a variety of other tribal peoples (many also heavily represented in Afghanistan), while Pakistan is dominated by ethnic Punjabis.
katymine @ 142
Thank Jeebus.
We love you, katymine!
g’nite. LooHoo – sleep well.
madmommy @ 99
Like he said they are everywhere.:)
katymine @ 142
W00t! Take your time healing and get ready to enjoy life all over again. :D
katymine, I can only speak for London, haven’t been to Paris (yet) — my fave place so far in London is Westminster Abbey, because I’m such a history freak. It’s just an awesome place. The Tower is cool, too ;-)
TRex @ 136
I once read Lorretta Lynn’s biography. I recommend it. At any rate, she credits FDRs administration for saving lives in Butchers Hollar and bringing work there when the coal mines had shut down and people were grinding glass to feed to the chickens. And her first “storeboughten ” dress was given to her by a gov agent who probably felt bad she was running around in gunny sacks. At any rate, How on earth can Loretta Lynn sit and praise G.W. when he is the anti*FDR.
katymine @ 142
YES!!!!!
Night Loo Hoo!
mui @ 173
The mind boggles.
mui @ 172
Not to mention all the great WPA art.
mui @ 173
Antonio Gramsci explains it quite well (though at great length and often in completely opaque prose).
LoudounLib @ 172
I liked the Tower more than Westminster Abbey. I think for cathedrals? Winchester Cathedral was the church that stole my heart. I mean to visit it again someday. Absolutely gorgeous and the monks make excellent honey mead. *grin*
Doin the snoopy happy dance for ya katymine – woohoo
am I th e only one talking about tonight’s topic?
well Dalykos Hunter calls Ms M…an anchobaby ahahahahahahaha…….thats got to be way low (but I love it)
Hunter:
No words will do. Eternal assboil Limbaugh, Canadian carpetbagger Steyn, obliviously self-unaware anchor baby Malkin — yep, they’re right. The twelve year old is “fair game”, because he’s a political opponent. So send the entire right-wing hate machine after him. Internet, hate radio, “pundits” — the whole movement. That’s all any of them are good for anyway. That’s all they ever are good for.
katymine @ 142
I am so damn glad to hear this, katymine.

I’ve always wanted to see London, I such a history dork. Hubby won’t fly though, so it likely won’t happen. Sigh.
Evening, everyone. . . it’s 10:45 in my part of Texas, and I hope it’s not too late to get this comment in. I’ve been reading (I guess you call it lurking) but not commenting – just learning and enjoying your back and forth with one another.
I watched a bit of Hardball tonight – I heard Tweety’s “hoot” and I think I heard Nora Whora’s “cackle” = wonder if anyone will call her on that. Couldn’t bring myself to watch the Repug’s debate. Did anyone see it? And did Matthews make as big a fool of himself as Russett in the Democratic debate?
I Had a bit of outrage overload and had to stop worrying about all the going to hell in a handbasket for awhile. I have been doing my duty, however = called Cornyn’s office after the Betrayus dustup. What is most disturbing is the potential for a terrible “restoring” of the FISA wiretapping omnibus law. I’m ready for a big dose of gridlock with no laws revised or passed until Bush is out of office.
TRex, Cassie, TexBetsy, Kirk, Selise (am I leaving anyone out?) keep writing; I can’t wait to read the next installment.
Marilyn in Texas
PS I even find the arguments interesting!
Katy,
Some of the obvious choices in Paris are absolutely worth it: the Louvre, Notre-Dame, Sacre-Coeur. Save an afternoon to just hang out in Montmartre, and save an afternoon to window-shop and people-watch on Boulevard St. Germain.
If you and boyfriend are sports fans, and Paris Saint-German are home while you are there, go to the match. You may think you’ve seen lunatic crowds, but the mob at Parc des Princes is in a whole other category.
aliasofwestgate @ 179
Oooh yes, I’ve been there too. On my first trip there in ‘05, we happened upon it while we were out walking around one evening. We dropped in and listened to a choir practice, and just sat and enjoyed it all for a while :-)
Katymine, That is wonderful news! Please take bitty steps, recuperate first, then, leap for the stars…!!! *g*
katymine, I liked St. Pauls Cathedral in London.
It has a web site, you might like to check out.
I also, liked Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Of course, only if you like plants and flowers.
Wonderful news, about your surgery.

Setting aside the sheer shamelessness of Michele’s little field trip, I STILL can’t figure out what her point is. If the parents own a house, then their brain-damaged children don’t deserve health care? Is that really what she’s saying? Because I really can’t figure out her point.
DrDick @ 177
Marxist theory always explains a lot. Just never have the time or energy to go digging.
Marilyn In Texas @ 184
Welcome Marilyn! I lurked a while too, till I figured out the lay of the land. Jump on in, it’s fun, and always a learning experience, at least for me.
Right, then. I’m headed out. I have something to take care of, so I may or may not make it back in time for Late Late Nite.
Hope I’ll see you then.
Marilyn in Tex, once you have de-lurked, it is very very hard to go back to just reading and not commenting.
London was fun, though loud. *grins* I’m not so much of a history dork as just plain fascinated with the culture. ‘ve the dubious honor of being both an anglophile AND a nipponphile. I watch a lot of tv from both those island nations. And i’ve got some background on both the cultures, though my family actually HAS british roots. The thing for japan? Just fell in by accident. I’ve seen england twice, now i eventually want to visit japan. Likely will never live in either place, but i’m all set to visit. I love the people in england, i had a grand time both times there. I also got spoiled rotten by the train systems. we NEED light rail here in the US, seriously! I’d be taking it anywhere in a heartbeat, dammit. I despite long distance driving with a passion.

Fortunately for me that is (in part at least) what I do for a living. Imagine the looks on the students’ faces (remember that this is Montana) when they find out the professor is a Marxist (only tell the upper division and graduate students, however). 8~)
Now, I was trying to avoid the TMI file tonight.
Frank Probst @ 189
The parents are accused of investing in real estate instead of healthcare. I kid you not, this is their entire point.
And Hi Marilyn!
katymine @ 142
I haven’t finished catching up yet, but had to break out in a big smile at katymine’s news. These will be much easier phone calls to make!

That is exactly what she’s saying — that SCHIP should have both asset and income tests for eligibility. It is mind-bogglingly stupid — the implicit assumption that a moderate-income family can somehow instantly monetize an asset in order to pay for health care is simply ridiculous.
But I think we have long since stopped expecting anything that comes out of that particular pie-hole to make sense.

Are you serious? Is that really what they’re trying to say? Their mortgage has to be less than they’d be paying in rent. And I’d be willing to bet you that any sort of private insurance that the family could have afforded would have screwed them over the minute those kids went to the hospital.

The craziest thing was when I worked for this publisher, we’d hear from these poor professors who were getting *shit* because of some of the things in our Cell Biology text books. (I am trying to be vague as possible but it was in the deep south.)
In the office, we’d wonder why the f*ck some fundamentalist students would go into cell bio in the first place. But there you have it.
DrDick @ 249
And any insurance they get isn’t going to cover the kids anyway.

Those, too. Rumor is Rove is back in Texas to groom Perry for President later on; Perry qualifies: good hair, dumb as a stick.

That is my question about fundie students in Intro to Anth where we devote most of the first third of the class to human evolution, which they have to know. Didn’t get it this fall, but usually I get one or two students complaining about how tough it is because they do not believe in evolution.

Hey TRex, great post!
I wrote about this today, too. My little soapbox doesn’t get nearly as many hits, but if we all do a little, hopefully, nobody else will have to endure what the Frost family is right now from wastes of human skin like Michelle Malkin.
One thing’s for sure — I wouldn’t want to have her karma.

CTuttle @ 260
If there’s a heaven, such as we fancy, she’s there.
TeddySanFran @ 269
Still?
An equivalent to what happened in pre-genocide Rwanda concerning the use of the airwaves in a coordinated hate campaign of the Hutus against the Tutsis also happened in pre-World War II Germany.
Before World War II in 1930s Germany, German Jews were shut out of the media as the Nazis ramped up their hate rhetoric against Jews. German Jewish families were threatened. German Jewish homes and businesses were targeted by the Nazis and their roving bands of cutthroat brown-shirts. All a precursor to the Jews being herded into death camps to be slaughtered by the millions.
Michele Malkin would have fit right in, joining the gangs of hate-filled brown-shirts, spreading her venom. Just as Ann Coulter would have fit in, too. And Michael Savage. As would so many right-wing talking heads with hate filling their hearts and shrivelled up souls.
This is why in the late 1970s and early 1980s, certain radical Republicans made one of their top priorities the usurption of our Free Press, our Fourth Estate. Deep-pocket radical Republicans started gobbling up as much of the U.S. media as possible, with the goal of controlling the “message” that people hear on television or over the radio or read in print. And their “message”? Hate. Hate. Hate.
This is why I view all the neo-con Republican media frauds and their lapdog listeners and viewers as being “born again” neo-Nazis. So no one should be surprised that these neo-con Republicans continually resort to tactics used by the Nazis in pre-World War II Germany.
marilyn, you do not need to bold your responses when quoting a comment.

hi Thers
Thanks TRex for reminding me why I blog under a pseudonym.
Everyone is fair game for them, is there anyone that they haven’t attacked? Widows of 9/11 dead. Check. War vets with only one limb. Check. Sick kids. Check.
Is it because they think it is a game? Dave’s piece about Malkin is very insightful. The “they do it to me!” bit is especially familiar as that is one that Melanie Morgan is using as of late. And for the record, if anyone is sending death treats to Morgan or Malkin, stop it. I strongly condemn that kind of action. I don’t know anyone on the left who does that and I’ll bet you don’t either.
Does Malkin see the discrepancy of power between someone emailing her and the reach of her words? Is there no one in authority to say, “Knock it off, stop harassing the kids.” Of course not, because they WANT her to do that dirty work for them.
What’s next? They want to hurt someone on the anti-war left.
Right now Malkin and Move America Forward are going after Code Pink in Berkeley. They are ginning up a counter protest at the recruiting office in Berkeley. They want to fight their battle here rather than in Iraq.
“We are harassing liberals here so we don’t have to go to war there.”
Hey Thers – nice to see ya here on a non-Saturday
*waving to all the leaving sleepy pups*
Ooh, Larry Johnson posted on Booman Tribune…
“The third time can be a charm or an out. When it comes to the Bush Administration’s mishandling of security information the jury is in–throw the bums in jail. Today’s news detailed in Leslie’s post below describes how the Bush Administration’s eagerness to brief Faux News resulted in blowing a private sector operation to track Al Qaeda. But this ain’t the first time. And on what basis can any reasonable person believe that Bush and company actually give a rat’s ass about protecting classified info or punishing those who compromise secrets?”

It won’t be for at least five years. Man-Cub is in eighth grade, and we have a perfect school situation here in OC. The day he leaves for college, all sorts of things become possible.
That must be a misquote. Surely she meant she’s fighting the war on Terra in Berkeley so she wouldn’t have to go to Iraq again. Someone might want revenge for that Iraqi cop.

I know that Code Pink can “handle themselves” but I just want to point out what is happening here.
The right is using the broadcast air waves to gather a group of pissed off people together and NOT for a peaceful protest. They are planning an attack on individuals and groups on the left. You listen to their word and you see their actions, it’s not as if what is going to happen next is a mystery. They want a rumble, because all that can see is that it will make for good TV. (Of course I’m sure that nothing will go wrong.)
If it isn’t this time, it will be the next. We are the ones that needs to show restraint, but they are the ones who are ratcheting up the violence. (They also love to point out that they have the guns.” From Malkin’s link on this topic:
They talk about what they are going to do. We have videos of what they have done. Just how far does it have to go until someone is hurt?
And then, “We had NO idea that people would ACT on what we said!”

PLEASE, friends … don’t keep playing ‘aint it awful!”
That makes it seem as if there is nothing we can do to change things.
Can we see some suggestions for what we, as concerned citizens, can do in response to this vendetta against an innocent American family?
Can we come up with a “visual action” to support this family?
*Remember the northwestern town that put menorahs in every window after a Jewish family’s home was defaced during Chanukah?
*Remember the Swedish (Danish?) Royal Family that wore yellow stars and asked their subjects to do so, when the Nazi’s forced Jews to do so?

support them in a slander and defamation case against Malkin, who may alas be exempt from a harrassement charge under the law that I posted yesterday.
Now what would that in-the-window/in-their-face visual be? The coffee’s on in EDT land. This is site is brilliantly visual and its posters all around brilliant. Let the ideas flow….
We did so well on the Republican conventin elephant?
What can we do for the Frosts (Frosty the snow man is presumably out}?
If this is the truth about Michele Malkin she is a woman filled with poison. She is rotting from the inside out. That poison will finally take its toll.
Although sometimes the only time people filled with this type of poison get it (although most people who do such evil will never get it because they are really ill) is to have their own ugly strategies pushed back in their faces.
Tell me: have you condemned the people who are camping outside Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s home in San Fran? If you haven’t, then you should really stop blogging about Malkin now – you hypocrite.
Fascinating how reporting can be spun to look like stalking.
Oh wait, reporting is what it would have been called if it was someone on the LEFT researched information about the Frosts and the sCHIP issue.
But since it’s MM, it’s gotta be ’stalking’.
Katymine: get a train out to Oxford–only takes an hour. What a
wonderful place. We spent half an afternoon in the company of the Gamekeeper at Magdalen (’maudlin’) College, strolling around with him learning all about his deer and odd bits about life in Oxford. We just ran into him by a fence corner, and we hit it off. We met lots of really sweet and hospitable people. Stayed in a B & B run by a falconer. Now, THAT was fun.
The people protesting Rep. Pelosi’s political inaction regarding impeachment and the Iraq invasion are excercising their Constitutional right to assemble.I don’t believe there is a Constitutional right to threaten and intimidate. I’m not a lawyer but the term for that activity is assault.
Sorry TRex, but this
is unfair. Even on crystal meth, a border collie would have far superior moral consistency than these lower than whale shit scumbags.
