I read or heard somewhere earlier today that the GOP will censure Larry, but won’t kick him out. And as for Rove’s pal Novak? Well… he ought to know all about deception (keeping things quiet) and Republican chicanery.

Speaking of proper targets for the Ethics Committe, how about Richard Shelby ?
Or has the World’s Greatest Deliberative Body decided that
going around to CIA stations trying to foment a “revolution” in the agency
is acceptable behavior?

I actually interpreted this “leak” as being a warning to Craig from the GOP about what information they have on him.

“They knew about it.”

Of course, they did! Anybody who has worked for a living knows that if someone’s got this kind of secret, someone, and possibly many someones, knows about it or has a “feeling” about it, or it’s the worst kept secret. I would venture to say, there are very few members of Congress that don’t have some people within their inner sactums knowing more about them than others thought they knew. It’s not that big a town and the people involved are way too well connected!

Hmmm. I’m going to disagree with the thesis here. I think that Larry Craig has a penchant for restroom sex, and I think that a LOT of people knew about it. But I don’t think Larry Craig will use this to his advantage. I don’t think he even can. I think this man is so far in denial that it wouldn’t even occur to him. I don’t think he can even admit–even to himself–that he has sex with other men.

As for the coming ethics probe, I’m not expecting much. I suspect that they’ll just bury it. The Dems don’t need to push the issue, and the Repubs don’t want to.

And once they learned, did they corral him into voting in a certain fashion, and on what votes? This is a guy whose constituency is very distrustful of government, lots of libertarians; did he vote Repug more often than he would have serving that constituency because he was pressured to do so?

And the next question that follows…

His central point is that the democratic plans seem needlessly complicated, and keep insurance companies in the loop (as atrios has repeatedly noted) but that all the democratic plans include a government plan option.

I think he’s right about this–that it will just be a matter of time before most consumers ditch the insurance companies. They know that too, so this will be a huge fight.

It’d be good if we were all on the same page when the battle starts…..

The notion of a threat to the US is 100% complete nonsense.

It’s nothing new in the village. Our own Howie Klein has been writing about Craig, the Senate Minority Leader, Mini-Me(Lindsey Graham), and Patrick McHenry for a while now. Yes, that’s right, there are rumors that have been floating for a long time now that the three mentioned might be into the “Wide Stance” thing too. Go figure.

Yikes! What happened?

The tumor in my kidney decided it was going to make its presence known by nearly killing me. Bleeding, passing clots like a kidney stones, nearly being sent to ICU, emergency surgery at 6am on Thursday and trying not to give me transfusions because they are very hard on my remaining kidney.

I am home and there is a nice pot roast in the oven… dinner will be in an hour.

Yikes! What happened?

The tumor in my kidney decided it was going to make its presence known by nearly killing me. Bleeding, passing clots like a kidney stones, nearly being sent to ICU, emergency surgery at 6am on Thursday and trying not to give me transfusions because they are very hard on my remaining kidney.

I am home and there is a nice pot roast in the oven… dinner will be in an hour.

The very last audience question came from a woman with a noticeable (what I am sure some of the panel took to be) “hick” accent. She said something to the effect of, “In the secret? dark? middle of the heartland? country, you are not loved.” I thought, “Oh, bells, she’s going to end all this bs with a ‘liberal’ rant.”

No, dear pups……….not so. She went on to tell them that we the people think the WH media are not doing their jobs; they are not digging to get the full story. Oooooo, touched a nerve with several of the sanctimonious twits, she did. *g*

The game is on WTBS, FOX gets the ALCS and the WS. But as soon as I read Jane’s comment about the booing, my first thought was Fox adjusted the audio. There is a certain amount of cross-polination with the game, TBS promoting the ALCS on FOX, etc. Nothing would surprise me anymore.

last nite, we had a little messiness left at the lake when cassie made her sudden departure. tonight, i got the following email from her:

Dear Suzanne,

I am very sorry I left things messy at the lake last night but I did not want to be late getting to bed. :-[ I should have been more careful with watching the clock.

This morning, I woke up early and went back to the lake to clean up after the whole late night crowd and not just after myself. I swept the deck and washed the railings and threw out the candy wrappers and recycled the coke cans. I also carried all the wet towels up to the club house and started the wash.

If I promise to get to the diving board more than 20 minutes before bedtime, and I promise to not run any more, can I please use the diving board again?

The footage accompanying this video clearly points towards their concerns, and oddly enough seems to be condoned by their current system (Putin)…intriguing to say the least.
