That is a really good idea. I live south of SF but I work for SFGH. I wonder about the permit thing and there are lots of places to gather signatures. There’s a big farmers mkt on Weds near City Hall. There’s another one on Alemany on Sat. morning. You could get local signatures and tourist signatures if you sat in GGpark. If you went to the Castro on the weekend you could get sooo many signatures

Bobby G

I’m not here a whole hell of alot but i tink all the people are great and kinda family. Sorry about your sudden loss. Like somebody said - ya never know what’s gonna happen when you get up in the morning. Events like this can help you appreciate life more, but myself, it usually wears off and I get back in the routine and take too much for granted.

Hang in.

Here’s how we get to Pelosi: write to her and let her know you will be supporting Cindy Sheehan’s independent run for her seat, and that you just can’t wait to see the look on her face when Cindy boots her useless ass down the Capitol steps.

…
How about we invite Cindy Sheehan,… for a fund-raising chat? Cindy probably has no chance, …

As you say Cindy probably has zero chance.

If Pelosi isn’t going to allow impeachment proceedings and if she were to step down her replacement wouldn’t either, then this Congress is hopeless.

The thing to do is focus on House races. We can fill the House with better Democrats!

Don’t fight incumbents, just replace ‘em where you can.

What do you true SF-ers think? Kirk? TSF?

looseheadprop at #29, well that sounds promising, and I hope it works out well. I’m just so very worried that everything the Rethugs do is geared toward stealing another election.

Having Von Spakovshy get in the FEC with full Senate Approval will allow him to do nay dirty deed he chooses without press scrutitny.

It is only the controversy of a recess appointment that will get a spotlight on the FEC–I’m for it.

Maybe that’s why Obama is doing this? he doesn’t want to be the victim of a stolen elecion?

My thoughts exactly–at least the part of Obama not wanting to be robbed of a victory.

And on the subject of Good News for Dems, there is even more:

The ill-smelling Giulianai-inspired plan to split the California electoral votes by district—robbing the Dems of their near-certain victory of the state—is now history, thanks to tough organizing at the grassroots state level:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/.....ESIOTG.DTL

They called themselves “The Lincoln Brigade.”

Even as Democrats feared having to spend as much as $40 million for a bruising, bloody fight expected to drag on for months, this makeshift group of California Democratic operatives needed just weeks to pummel a Republican-funded push for a ballot measure that threatened to change the outcome of the 2008 presidential election.

The ruthlessly effective battle plan of the California Democrats’ group raises the specter that, as the 2008 election looms, Republicans may have to confront a far more aggressive Democratic ground game that has revived the old “Clinton war room” philosophy.

“We need to fight back and not be reluctant - that if they come after you with a knife, to pull out a gun,” said California Democratic strategist Chris Lehane, former spokesman for President Bill Clinton’s White House and Vice President Al Gore’s 2000 presidential campaign.
