Kathleen, thank you for bringing this subject up and please know that my response is directed toward far more commenters than just yourself.

IMVHO, the pattern is not Israel, or Palestine, or Iranian nuclear programs, or sports updates.

It is the repetitious raising of these, and other, topics when the subject of the post is something completely different…with no effort made to engage in conversation with other commenters about the subject of the post.

Our front pagers invest a great deal of time and energy crafting what they present on the front page. The least we can do is acknowledge their efforts before heading down whatever road the muse moves us.

Exiting soapbox, stage left.

Again I say people go OT all of the time, and the “only” “only” time I witness “some” people get upset with the OT is when the I/P issue comes up and facts and links get posted. This persistent response here at FDL is an example of the Micro to the Macro response to this critical issue to attacks out there in the bigger world when this issue is brought up.

PW, I note that Doug Schoen is not included in the list of bios for Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates. Link.
And check this out.

oops sorry..
I thought this was about Feingold amendment and the sell-out Dems…
What the F**K does beer or Israel have to do with this?
Oh..what is that shiny thing?

People go off topic all of the time, funny how the only time people get upset about OT is when the I/P issue comes up. There seems to be a pattern here.

BMitch I would like to extend the olive branch to you for the fourth time. As I have explained to you several times I fully acknowledge and support that “Israel exists” the “right” is another issue. I do not believe in the “god” of the Bible and do not believe that if there is a “god” that “god” would act as a real estate agent for the middle east.

I want to witness a Palestine based on the Internationally recognized boundary and an International Jerusalem or a shared Jerusalem. I am Pro Palestine Pro Israel Pro Peace again based on the Internatioanally recognized border.

I have extended this olive branch to you several times, I have never attacked you personally, but you have done so on numerous occasions. Especially when I link articles, UN resolutions, and information from the International Atomic Energy Agency about the weapons situation in the middle east.

I hope you stop attacking me personally saying things that are simply not true

The Republicans maybe down in the polls at the moment, but if they thought that their chances in ‘08 were that bad, they would end this war a long time ago.
When the Dems did not cut funding for the war shortly after ‘06 elections, it was a mistake and now they are confused as to what approach should be taken. I believe, the president is working towards a complete withdrawal by Oct. of ‘08. The
celebartions of the troops coming home before the elections is going to be good for Repbulicans and people will start to forget about the war.
The Dems blew it and they know it. Their only strength is on the economy and Brenanke will make sure that it does not fall too much apart by then, ‘08 maybe a distant memory.

sorry folks, #282 got garbled - I am tired - my comment was in the first paragraph in response to BM’s:
“There are many reasons for disagreeing with Kathleen and her happy band of Israel haters. Cowardice is not among them.

It takes courage to face the truth; courage that Kathleen lacks. Instead, she prefers hit and run attacks on Israel, divorced from reality.”

I usually agree with Kathleen.

BM - I do not agree with Israeli right wing idiocy and I am a Jew - does this make me anti semite?

Stewart will rip into many issues but I have never seen him touch the I-lobby
A bit of poking fun at Lieberman, but not the Lobby. Sacred cow on his show. He even takes part in mis-interpreting Iranian President’s Ahmenijads words and has often inferred on his program that Iran has a nuclear “weapons” program.

Stewart is brave but not that brave

NO!

Regarding the concept of ‘moderate’ Republicans.
I think it would be much more effective to refer to the less moonbatty of them as ‘Rational Republicans’, a term that says so much more than just ‘moderate’ at a time when so many of them are totally losing it. This indicates that while we all may have differences of opinions, they are well adjusted human beings, and not to be confused with those of them who are ‘Irrational Republicans’. The American people know (and for the most part accept) that everyone has differences of opinion. Remind them that Democrats are the people who are eager to work with all rational people to improve your country, and therefore, the world.
