Mr. President, also, let me say it is my intent–and I talked to Senator McConnell at some length about this–we will do these tomorrow. I talked to Senator Leahy. I am sure he has spoken with Senator Specter. It is time we did some of these, and we are going to do them tomorrow, the exact time of which I do not know, but they will be done tomorrow.

OK I guess I’ll say it here first. STATISTICAL FACT: 1/2 of US population is of less than average intelligence. Remember that the brain challenged have to have something to believe in too. It might be victory in Iraq, the imminent return of Jesus or a flat earth but you can rest assured they will not be pulling for anything that requires more intelligence than they have. Approach these “dims” with pity not anger – they literally don’t have the brains to come in out of the reign.

I just listened to the Rush audio. He was definitely talking about the soldiers that were faking news stories, etc. Sheesh, you guys are one step away from advocating censorship.

Soldiers? He claimed it was one soldier. Can’t even get your alibis straight, eh?

Kevin, that’s a really minor detail, and I think you know it. The stories about Jesse Macbeth and Scott Beauchamp were common knowledge among the VRWC – for crying out loud, ABCNews did a report on Macbeth!

Added to which, while I haven’t been able to listen to Rush as often as I have in the past, I do recall hearing him acknowledge that there are going to be members of the military who disagree with current military policy. If memory serves, he expressed his appreciation for their service, even if he disagreed with their point of view. Never, ever have I heard him denigrate a member of the military speaking in good faith.

I am speaking on behalf of my daughter who is in Iraq right now (third time), who is a liberal Democrat, who opposes the war, yet does her job regardless of hardships and hazards, who has earned two bronze stars and seven distinguished service citations for her performance. “Phoney soldier,” indeed!

Since 9/11, my daughter has missed every family milestone – every holiday, every birth, and every death. I call it “Family Interrupted.” With each passing year, there is always the empty place at the family dinner table. I watch the evening news and note the losses of other families, hoping my daughter’s name will never appear on a casualty list. “Phoney soldier,” indeed!

I think you can well understand my rage over Limbaugh’s remark, but I do not understand your grandstanding and pandering over him. Frankly it offends me.

Neither you nor Limbaugh support the troops unless you supports ALL the troops, including Democrats and liberals and those holding an opinion different than yours. There are liberals and Democrats who also serve in the military, and suffer hardships, and bleed and die when their country calls. Limbaugh’s remarks are disrespectful and hypocritical.

Know this: If you continue this bombast in Congress, I will do everything in my power to have you tossed out of office and disgraced in public.

So it remains to be seen if Jack Kingston’s minions decide to keep my comment or delete it. I wouldn’t be surprised to find it missing by morning. Damn, these neo-cons. What a bunch of low-lifes.

What is your opinion of Jesse Macbeth and Scott Beauchamp? And with Rush Limbaugh’s long history of strong support for the troops, why do you find it so hard to believe that it was individuals such as these about whom he was speaking when he used the expression, “phony soldiers”?

He didn’t last too long on ESPN, did he? One thing advertisers don’t like is controversy.

Yeah — other than the fact that he’s got about 10 million listeners, and makes gadzillions of dollars for the stations he’s on and the advertisers, I think you’ve really got him on the ropes.

He now has about 13.5 million listeners. About 10 years ago, he had 20. If we apply the sort of constant pressure that the VRWC does, we can pare him down even further.
