Cooper: wouldn’t it be nice that you only work for US approved entities. Redundancy is small objection to say that you’re a loyal company. What if a company hired you to break a strike? It would be permissible under current charter.

Blackwater has already been used for “police work” inside the United States. It isn’t much of a stretch to presume that Blackwater would have no trouble at all contracting out to some right-wing nutjob similarly-Republican company to “crush” any employees daring to challenge the corporatist thugs.

Erik “Prince” has let his name go to his head, and when combined with his Christian fanaticism, it is obvious who really represents a “clear and present danger” to our democracy.

Since all the contracts are cost plus, any mistakes they make or penalties they incure, get paid by us anyway. I bet crashing the plane into the Afgan mountain returned a profit in the end. Nothing we do right now provides any deturent from wrongdoing. In fact, just the opposite!

OT:

struck with deep pang of brotherly concern last night tuning in to watch democracy now. something has happened to our dear sister, amy goodman, causing her some kind of facial paralysis. the right side of her face is unmoving — her right eye unblinking. caught her interview with seymour hersh this morning — same situation.

this might sound facil or overblown, but, truly, one of the very high points of my life in the last decade was hearing the radiant delight and exuberance in amy’s voice as she reported the protests around the world that preceeded the invasion of Iraq. like, if amy is happy, wowwie-wow-wow-wow, we can all be happy! eh?

that broadcast is immortalized in a song by a group called le tigre: Peace Now! — a song that can still crack through my cynicism and despair, and break my heart open!

have been googling this morning, trying to learn what’s happened to amy, but, so far, find nothing. any news out there?

send her some love!

Saw it. Most likely Bell’s Palsy. She has full use of her right arm, so I doubt it is a stroke or something like that. JMHO
