Why does Timmeh love to torture us?

Gawd, most of the time listening to him IS torture.

My closest friend from high school is an Oxford PhD candidate studying immigration law. Basically she is an expert on this area of the law.

Timmeh did not researh his horrible question (or maybe he did) regarding the immigration law. The fact of the matter is that the law says the state and local governments cannot enforce those laws unless they have a memorandum of understanding with the feds.

Strangely Hillary’s answer was closest to the reality on the ground and the reality is that the law was written that way for a reason.

In ‘93 that was the right approach. But, today after the Republicans took a surplus and turned it into huge debt you can’t just continue fighting up that hill and watching them build more debt.

It’s a political fight. The Republicans keep that bright shiny object out there (debt) for Democrats to ’solve’ and like Lucy they’ll keep putting it there for Dems to kick. But, we’ve gone down that road once and they’ve shown they’ll keep spending in forever silly ways.

So, Democrats have to begin changing the economic policies to make America better and not focus as much on balancing the books. It’s the direct way Repubs can’t prevent us from using to rebuild the middle class and improve the safety net for the poor.
