I sent my idea to her via her e-mail address, which has bounced in the past. still waiting to see if it bounces this time. If you know a way to bring it directly to her attention, I would be very grateful.

It just breaks my heart to know of the sacrifices of certain people in the fdl community, of their work which is not always visible to others, and then to have our efforts snubbed as ‘ineffectual’ when they absolutely are not, I guess I just lost my temper.

Thanks for your words of encouragement. It always motivates us to have armchair critics in other countries tell us that we are being ineffectual. Your insights are inspiring. Anything else we might be missing?

hey egr – to cut GGwizz some slack here… haven’t we also been frustated by the lack of results for our efforts? i think we’re all feeling the pressure… but that doesn’t mean we’re not all on the same side.

I think we are at “then they fight you”. A good thing.

GGwizz, wow that’s a pretty harsh indictment of the community. You might be comforted to know there is a lot more going on than can be put onthread.

We can come and gripe here, regain our courage, and head back out into the world to fight another day. Why would those necessarily be mutually exclusive? We are one of the most politically active communities among progressive blogs. My point is that not all of this is highly visible.

Your points are well taken, and the whole reason for my comments is based on my respect (if not shock’n’awe) for the fundamental principles and people of FDL. So, tonight (NZ-time) I guess I must’ve come to gripe. You all still shock and awe me.
