I guess I’m not really surprised that DiFi voted for it, and I’m glad that Boxer voted against it, instead of skipping out on the vote again, like she did on FISA. I dunno what’s wrong with DiFi… maybe she needs an extended sabbitical.

Her husband is a goddamned weapons mogul, that’s what’s wrong with this simpering insider. She’s a goddamned war profiteer and used her position on MilCon to make sure the man she screwed for the past 30 years to get a mansion and an easy lifestyle got plenty of DoD contracts.

That’s why all of this “new and better Democrat” garbage is a waste of breath. Once your inside you don’t want to come out. Washington is a money-maker for these people, and that’s why they crap all over those who support them, we were too stupid to get a real goddamned job.

Mr. Mukasey has attributes that could make him a good attorney general. He has been a lawyer and federal district court judge in New York, where he enjoys a good reputation. Although he is not divorced from politics (he is on an advisory committee to Rudolph Giuliani’s campaign), it is unlikely that he would run the Justice Department as an adjunct of the White House, or a booster of the Republican Party, as Alberto Gonzales did.

Aspects of his record, however, are troubling. As a judge, he was too deferential to the government. In the case of Jose Padilla, who was accused of participating in a dirty bomb plot, he ruled that the president may detain American citizens indefinitely as “enemy combatants.” His dangerously narrow reading of the Constitution was rightly reversed by a federal appeals court.

I don’t do Windows or PCs of any stripes. But the Macs of the past couple of years with dual processors can do windows as well as Mac OS.

Personally, my laptop is a Microsoft free zone.

From what I’ve heard about Vista I am glad I bought a new ‘puter right before the roll-out.

Everything new Gates puts out is in the beta version.

I’ve had Basic for a month now and so far, no issues. Very pleased with it.

However, this has not stopped me from seriously considering making our other machine dual-boot, with Ubuntu as the other OS. I don’t like being tied to one product.
