Free Market™ solution!

to perpetuating the war… we can justify our continued presence in Iraq by prolonging the insurgency by providing them with weapons, all while benefiting the bottom-line of shrub’s very own private army/theocon buddy campaign contributors. Free Market™ treason. I do not know how a government can possibly get more obscene than this.

This maladministration keeps surpassing itself. Just when you think they can’t “possibly get more obscene than this,” they plunge ever lower. Among the horrors that await us in the near future is vetoing SCHIP, that is, if they don’t manage to sabotage it before it gets to the veto stage. Our president cares most tenderly for embryos and fetuses and believes that government must protect them. No others need apply for help or protection. Babies, children, the poor, the sick, the old, the disabled, our troops, the foreign civilians caught in the crossfire of our pre-emptive warring–let ‘em fend for themselves.

One thing this week taught me: FDL will not be closing its doors on 1/20/2009, no matter what Democrat is elected President.

Lots to do. Lots to do.

Was anyone planning to? Just changing Presidents isn’t going to be enough. Too much has gone bad for too long for any one person to get everything fixed. So while we relax about having a President who isn’t a nut, there will still be lots of stuff to work on.

“70% of the people want to end the war you MSM hacks! We are the center Heck we are the majority. Its the right wing 30%ers and Bush who are pushing the GOP not to comprimise! [Mod:snip]

Simple fact is, they don’t want to, as long as the war goes on, americans die, the public wants it to end and they elect more Democrats, that’s the democrat goal, they could care less about actually stopping the war. let alone defeating the enemy.

How many more years to win? How much money will it cost? Look up thread for my comments on how much it will cost each and every American.
As far as tearing people down and calling them names hmm Swiftboat Vetrans smeared Kerry’s war record, but they had no connection to Bush. That story about John McCain fathering a black child that was spread around before a state primary vote no connection to Bush. General Shinski having to retire because he said we needed more troops in Iraq well ok that directly had Bush’s finger prints.
General Petraeus lying look at Perris’s comment @ 418
Now about the Left’s logic well I think we have a slight problem wining a war if if we are fighting in Iraq when Ossama is in Pakistan?
I also think we could cut off all Al Quieda funding by buying everyone a hybrid car and creating a demand driven drop in the price of oil. Oil profits go down Ossama loses funding and Iran can’t afford to buy anymore nuclear technology.
The left has no logic you and Bush can fight for 100 years in Iraq and never defeat al Quieda because Ossama is in Pakistan all we are doing in Iraq is making more enemies.

Do you know what got me this week? Bush asked the UN World Heritage Committee to take our River of Grass (The Everglades) off of the endangered list. No one knows why. (Oil??)

Everglades uproar brings change

A Senate hearing looks at how a U.N. list was altered.

WASHINGTON - The Bush administration has changed its procedures for trying to remove U.S. sites from a United Nations list of endangered special places after the Everglades was struck from the list this summer, a State Department official said.

Gerald Anderson, a deputy assistant secretary at the State Department, made the statement at a hearing held Wednesday by Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., into how and why the Bush administration asked the U.N. World Heritage Committee to remove the Everglades from its list of endangered environmental sites.

“We’ve assessed the reaction to the decision, and we understand there are some concerns that need to be addressed,” said Anderson, who admitted to being surprised that the Everglades was removed.

At a meeting in New Zealand in July, Todd Willens, a deputy assistant secretary at the Interior Department, persuaded the World Heritage Committee to take the Everglades off the list, despite recommendations to the contrary by the National Park Service and the committee’s science advisers.

Nelson said he wants Willens fired, something the Interior Depatment is unlikely to do. He fretted that any false suggestion that the Everglades is healthy, such as its removal from the U.N. endangered list, could sap political support for continuing the cleanup.
