David Bowie (bless ‘im) has donated $10,000 to the Jena 6 Legal Defense Fund. You can help, too. I’m in for $25. Who wants to match my contribution?
President Bush is even more cracked out than even I thought. He thinks Nelson and Winnie Mandela were murdered by Saddam Hussein? WTF? I know that at this point it kind of goes without saying, but, goddamn, what an assclown.
Oh, and speaking of the Jerkwad in Chief, he claims he got a ‘B’ in Economics 101, when in truth, his Dad bought him a ‘C-minus’. Nonetheless, the Commander Guy says he “got an ‘A’ in cutting taxes…and fiscal responsibility!”, which is why Federal Reserve Chief Ben Bernanke said today that the economy is well and truly fucked, “beyond even the most pessimistic estimates” and will be for years to come. Oh, and the deficit continues to break all existing records. Mmmmm, love that fiscal responsibility!
Jezebel informs us that Stephen Meisel, the photographer who brought us Madonna’s weirdly un-sexy book, Sex, has most recently done a shoot for Italian Vogue that glamorizes rape in a war-zone. Because what could be more fashionable than war crimes and human rights abuses? (That story alone made me long for pandemic flu or some other apocalyptic catastrophe. Would you blame Mother Nature for strangling us in our crib?)
Oh, and there is no cuter Internet Pet celebrity than Winston. I know we’re partial to dogs around here, but Winston, well, just go watch the clip.
And that’s what I’ve got.
Thanks for letting me share.

TRex
I’m slowing down, too, Al. Got the early one, but probably won’t even be top 20 this time.
Great post TRex.
Zed? Consider yourself matched.
Epu’d but i wanna dance some more to War.
Trex!
My scale cleaner formula is not quite done yet, keep rolling in stupid Republicans until foamy. Rinse and repeat

Under-promise and over-deliver. A lesson that the Democrats in Congress could stand to learn.
Suzanne, how is the blue chaise?
505 consecutive posts that rock
TexBetsy @ 6
A combo platter of mixed delights…
burnspbesq @ 10
we always doubled our time estimates and budget numbers. Made is look dayam efficient. Not that anyone cared, unfortunately.
the blue chaise survived, tex, but there are sprinkles possible again tonight. we only got enough to make water spots on the deck and not anywhere near a soaking.
Bustednuckles @ 9
What about the ones stuck in his teeth? Floss that big don’t exist yet…
newdealfarmgrrrlll @ 8
Another classic War track for NDFG.
Holy Cow. KO was incindiary tonight.
And I thought folks here were pi**ed off.
Thanks to all the middle and right coasts for not slipping and pre-empting the left coasts, I can’t say ejoyment, experience of KO’s SC.
Yikes.
There’s smoke damage on the ceiling above my tv set.
David Bowie is a great artist and a beautiful human being.
And I love this song. The album, Scary Monsters, was a favorite of mine in high school. My friends thought I was nuts, but I didn’t care.
TheOtherWA @ 19
It’s my favorite, too. I bought it when I was 14, but didn’t really understand it until many, many years later.
Time and again, I tell myself
I’ll stay clean tonight…
I have a fantastic dance track in mind, but I’m not putting it up until after TRex calls it a night.
Suzanne @ 12
a math-impaired ndfg thanks you for keeping track for us (applauds energetically)
demi @ 18
Yeah, I saw that earlier at C&L. KO went nuclear on Dubya’s skanky ass.
Sorry to go all KO before I commented on TRex’s superb post.
TRex you always hit the stories of our woe’s with the correct disgusted attitude.
Good Therapod.
The Bowie song I have wanted a YouTube for all through the Iraq mess has been, “It’s No Game”.

RAAAAAHHRRRR!!!

Well, I had better head off to bed. One more chance to confuse the hell out of my students tomorrow. Take care and enjoy the snark.

that’s quite a choice you have give us: trex OR dance music
how about trex AND dance music
Great job as usual Trex.

P.S. With the introduction of re-education camps(for some of the detainees who are as young as 11) Bush is becoming more like Pol Pot than Saddam Hussein.

Great song, horrible video
MoveOn and Planned Parenthood got donations from me, so the Jena Legal Defense Fund is gonna have to wait until next month.
Speaking of PP, the court hearing this morning went ok. The city doesn’t get to revoke their permit, but the clinic is still closed until more arguments are heard. PP’s Aurora blog has more details.

Hey, Suzanne – I sent you a hug this morning at one of the posts.
GSD hit another one out of the park (yikes! – is Mitch here?) by comparing current Alaska politics to “the bottom of a dumpster in August.” And GSD hasn’t seen what a summer’s worth of dead fish parts can do to an Alaska dumpster.
just heard about the Toobz tapes, Suzanne. Can’t wait for the Don Young tapes.
My name is Deborah. And MoveOn.org speaks for me.
(Actually, I wondering if the Dems cut them loose to continue the attack. By joining the censure, did they actually give them a more free hand? Or am I delusional?)
Evening, all!
I clicked on the Mandela link, fully expecting some type of Onion pub. WTF? He really said that? He finally publicly losing it? I did like the correction/aside they put in there, assuring the reader Mandela is very much alive tyvm.

But not real. thus the problem. Next, he’ll order all the nuclear missiles launched to intercept the death star before it can blow us up. or order them fired on the HQ of Move on. Insanity is rather hard to predict.

Naw, just a message to the NSA.

Apartment foreclosure forces residents out
from Star-Telegram
http://www.star-telegram.com/n…..41633.html
By SUSAN SCHROCK
ARLINGTON — Residents at some central Arlington apartments are looking for new homes and answers this week after learning their complex was foreclosed and they must move out by the end of the month.
Mary Perez said Thursday that she received a letter from management on Sept. 4 giving her 30 days to move out of the Grey Stoke Apartments on Rogers Street. She said she moved into the complex with her teen-age son three months ago and did not know the apartment was in financial trouble.
Other residents, such as Misty Salas, said they never received a letter and that apartment managers are not giving tenants any information.
Salas, who has four children ages 14, 10, 6 and 2, said she has no money to move on such short notice. She said she paid $675 per month for her two-bedroom apartment.
“I’m a single mother. I have nowhere to go. We need more time and moving assistance,” Salas said.
The Grey Stroke office was locked Thursday morning and no one answered the phone. Stephen Gould of New Hampshire is listed as the owner, according to public records.
Representatives from other apartment complexes walked door to door Thursday telling residents about their move-in specials.
The Arlington Housing Authority also plans to provide information in English and Spanish about available financial programs and services, such as area emergency shelters, said agency director David Zappasodi. The housing authority already is helping five families find new apartments and has identified funding to relocate five other qualified low-income families, he said.

I just wish i could afford to give a little. I do what little things i can do here, meanwhile i’m organizing for donations from part of the Second Life Community i’m part of for Doctors Without Borders. I may not be wealthy, but i want to do anything i possibly can do.
You know, I think this whole Senate resolution thing is going to backfire. Just like demonizing al-Zarqawi in Iraq made him into a hero there, I think that the administration’s effort to tar and feather MoveOn is going to channel so much of the seething anti-war sentiment in this country straight to them.
This could be a really good thing.

I had to laugh when I read earlier about how all kinds of construction and such are stopped right now without Blackwater for protection. Wouldn’t it be rich if that were the straw that started in on the camel?
I’ve been sampling (real) newspapers today: OC register, LA times, SD Tribune, etc. and Blackwater isnt’ getting *any* good press. Plus even MSNBC got in on the anti Blackwater bandwagon. It’s interesting.
(I remember my outrage when I first heard about them, I think it was in connection with the original dustup in Falluja — but back then no one seemed to even notice these guys…)
punaise @ 129

Oh, you know, Blackwater is so far up the ass of so many super-super-wealthy Repuke assholes that they’ll never be forced to leave Iraq. Or they’ll all just fly to Halliburton headquarters in Dubai, have their contracts signed over to Bechtel or KBR and fly right back to Iraq as non-Blackwater contractors.
I wish they’d get tossed out Iraq on their mercenary asses.
Of course, that would just bring them back here to the US.
Hmmmmmm. Maybe I don’t like that idea.

Bustednuckles @ 95
“Hello Sam.”
“Hello Ralph.”
TRex @ 146
neither do we.
but i do note one point. The US troops there have a relatively low death rate because of their body armor, heavy weapons (grenades, machine guns, etc) and AFV’s (tanks, etc.) plus air support. AFAIK, blackwater’s goons mainly wear flak jackets and have automatic rifles and machine pistols (Uzis). A few seem to have RPG and such but no heavy stuff.
An angry mob could not take down a well-trained US patrol due to the advantages I list above. a BW convoy, OTOH, might be much more vulnerable.
So they may not be kicked out, but they could lose their effectiveness to the point it wasn’t worth the trouble keeping them around…
TRex @ 98
Move On themselves would be hard-pressed to come up with a better fundraiser than this resolution. MoveOn’s response is the sort of fearless defiance that we’re all yearning to see in our politicians. Maybe MoveOn can give spine-stiffening seminars for the Dems.
This is an amazing video. Looks like every important female singer in the history of country music, that’s still alive, is on stage by the end.

We’ve had fighter planes go over our house (south of DC, just inside the Beltway) several times yesterday and today (one just went a few minutes ago.) Ms. Redshift says one of them went supersonic close enough to hear the sonic booms yesterday. She was looking them up in Jane’s to try to figure out exactly what they were, but I guess she didn’t get a good enough look to be sure. (Her father was a Marine; I’m not a particularly good plane-spotter myself.)
We’re close enough to Andrews AFB that it’s not terribly worrisome, but it’s still unsettling. We don’t normally get this.

Something may be wrong in the Air Force. Gates cannot get anwswers on the misplaced nukes deal is asking for outside investigation.
Has anyone realized how incredible that is? I just did.
It was weird that Jane had that post for the book “The Cure” the very day I found out. No maybe she knew someone needed it too…. Thank you Jane.
Al, I asked on the last thread but got epu’d. Anything new on the loose nukes investigation?
katymine @ 154
Me and mine will be thinking good thoughts about positive outcomes ma’am . . .
new post of the day: weird animals. Yuck!
Ok, that’s been answered. An outside investigation of the military, requested by the Defense Sec.?
Just when I think this situation can’t get any weirder…
TheOtherWA @ 187
lord yes. Try this. It is just unbelievable. The fucking SECRETARY OF DEFENSE asks for an OUTSIDE INVESTIGATION OF MISSING AIR FORCE NUCLEAR WEAPONS? yes i’m shouting. god fucking dammit people, have our minds all gone to sleep?!!!!
katymine @ 186
I’ll make sure she knows, katymine.
Maybe I missed something but I thought the nukes were at the base in Louisianan.
Did they go somewhere?
TheOtherWA @ 189
Oh yes it can. I am now convinced the israeli “attack on syria” was a mistake, an accidentally interrupted tactical nuclear attack on iran’s uranium facilities. And I have some pretty good evidence on my side.
First we “get lucky” on the barksdale nukes. then we “get lucky” on the israeli raid. we are going to run out of “lucky” eventually.
Oh and the money quote in the article above? “At LEAST six”. Peachy.

Our Fed Reserve Bank is printing money like crazy to cover the mortgage obligations issued and reissued by financial firms, banks, and hedge funds. Americans are $trillions in debt because the Fed bank sponsored collateral loan obligations . The Fed banks are bleeding the people white. In fact the Fed bank may well collapse, go broke, under weight of the mortgage fiasco, it is all to real.
Let’s get rid of the Federal Reserve Bank once and for all, and go back to sound banking
Where’s how we do it: Read on.
“No Congress, no President has been strong enough to stand up to the foreign-controlled Federal Reserve Bank. Yet there is a catch – one that President Kennedy recognized before he was slain – the original deal in 1913 creating the Federal Reserve Bank had a simple backout clause. The investors loaned the United States Government $1 billion. And the backout clause allows the United States to buy out the system for that $1 billion. If the Federal Reserve Bank were demolished and the Congress of the United States took control of the currency, as required in the Constitution, the National Debt would virtually end overnight, and the need for more taxes and even the income tax, itself. Thomas Jefferson was concise in his early warning to the American nation, “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”
So, all we have to do is cough up $1 billion and take back our banking system. We’ll let the Fed bankers procede to worry about the $trillions of debts left over.
Our Forefathers gave us this wonderful, written-in-law backout clause all ready to go. Let’s use it. We’ll save $trillions, have jobs, pay little or no taxes.
I bet Ron Paul could arrange it.

The critical point for global warming is 2.0 degrees C of increase.
How likely are we to reach it?
91-99%.
And then…
….our planet heats up faster and faster….
Why is 2.0 critical?
That’s the point of positive feedback – where the warming begets more warming (melting permafrost’s methane comes into play here).
And we’re coming on it far, far faster than anyone expected:
That speed-up? Unimaginable two years ago.
That’s how fast the warming is accelerating – and how late we are in admitting it.
Oh – two Australia announced this year’s wheat and barley harvest is down from drought.
Thirty percent down – from what was expected in June…just three months ago.
Almost one-third less wheat this harvest than last.
Global grain reserves are at record lows – grain prices are rising (We burn our food for Hummer fuel! Clever primates…)
What comes after 2 C?

actually the post was supposed to be saved as a draft only cause the quotes and links weren’t done; comes of blogging at 4 am in teh morning. but when ArmsControlWonk said he had SOLID PROOF of a raid on a scud transfer from NK, i was worried I was wrong. But after analyzing the data and studying the smuggling routes for NK, feel the “solid proof” is israeli intelligence spoof instead. i feel my natanz attack analysis holds.
yes the attack is related to barksdale. note when it took place: September 7, a week after the failure to sneak the nukes out to barksdale. If cheney was behind that, he knows he is mortal danger and may have told the IDF to go for it. If the mainline military (especially fallon) find out that cheney tried to have his own little nuclear war for fun and profit, he won’t live to be impeached; i can’t predict how it would be done but cheney would die and he knows it. so that is what may be driving the urgency.
but again, it fucked up. our “luck” is holding. but “luck” doesn’t last forever…

I DO believe in global warming. I DON’T believe the doom and gloom. why? I know how the simulators they use to do those predictions work. they aren’t worth the CRT’s they display on. amen. ever noticed that LNG tankers don’t get within twenty miles of shore? they had to build fricking special ports for the dayam things and most are retired now. Some bright boy did a study on a LNG tanker crash at NYC harbor after one almost happened. turns out it would be WORSE than a nuke? why? LNG is heavier than air, would flow like water through the city, exploding as it went. yuck.
so industrial accidents are still the major threat we all face, IMHO.

I thought this was covered in the wiki article. Ah it is. read the part about ‘accident and death’. a) the speed of the accident combined with the fact patton was drunk off his ass made the injury he sustained very unlikely. b) he died of an embolism which is the easiest way to kill someone in a hospital (you can fake it with air in a feed link in an artery or with clotting drugs).
Patton wanted to start a war with russia to finish what ww 2 began. he was apparently supported by a number of his officers, though this is less certain. i have suspected that he was killed once it was clear he was going ahead with the attack regarless of orders to the contrary.
Of course, IMHO. YMMV. etc.

Many of us feel that way. We are contributing to MoveOn exclusively (check out the notoneredcent movement in the comments) and many are flatly going to not give to mainline democrats until they get some sense.
In the long run, we are going to have to create a new Progessive Party and replace either the dems or the rethugs. that’s why I’m here to contribute to that process.
I say it is time to change the Red House back to the White House.
The MSM continue to spread the NK nuclear FUD on the israeli air strike.
Problem is, this is even more transparent BS than the previous stories.
Here’s why. If the Syrians were going to build a nuclear facility (and ArmsControlWonk shows why this is a very unlikely thing CAUSE THEY ALREADY HAVE A WHOLE BUNCH LEGIT WITH THE IAEA) they would not, repeat not, put it up next to the Turkis border where the “attack” took place. NATO ELINT is all over that area, and you want to build a super secret nuke plant up there when you have thousands of square miles of lovely desert far far away from ELINT or even a dayam bird? I don’t think so.
My analysis stands. Failed nuclear attack on Natanz. Let’s see how long it takes them to admit it.

ah no, my dad was a patton buff. i grew up with this stuff. sorry should have said that sooner. And of course it isn’t provable, few such things are. But my dad believed that Patton was killed, and he’s a pretty smart cookie…
al, I’m quoting the IPCC report conclusions about the probablility of global temperature change.
Your misstatement that the IPCC’s conclusions are “Kirk’s opinions” is a transparent rhetorical trick.
If your scientific crtique of the IPCC’s work is so powerful, why use deceptive the readers here at the Lake?
When will you publish your major findings on one of those nine blogs your boss pays to create?
The descriptions of the consequnces of global warming were abstracted by the author fromthe descriptions in the IPCC report.
The person quoted on events happening in our lifetime, al?
He’s the co-chair of the IPCC working group that wrote the report.
Big Energy’s strategy to deny global climate change and the lethal consequnces thereof is Big Tobacco’s old strategy – so doubt and confusion at every single step. Delay public comprehension of consensus scientific opinion.
Al, you have an opinion regarding the simulators and models used by the IPCC.
You are welcome to them.
Tonight I read from you about the frozen methane and ammonia deposits kicked up by the Peruvian meteorite.
Except al, the deposits don’t exist (at surface temperatures/pressures) on our planet.
Previously I read from you that Pavarotti’s pancreatic cancer proceeded too rapidly for him to have time for a transplant, but the rapid progress minimized suffering.
Except al, the fact is that Pavarotti’s pancreatic cancer had been diagnosed in 2006 on his farewell tour.
Enough time for a transplant – except al – transplants aren’t possible in pancreatic cancer patients.
By the time of diagnosis, pancreatic cancer has almost always metastasized. And al – the immunosuppression required for solid organ transplant would only make the cancer spread faster – and the patient die faster.
And al – metastatic pancreatic cancer is a slow protracted death – over months.
[And al - just FYI - without a pancreas people don’t require tranplants to survive.
They require insulin - the condition is known as diabetes.]
Al, the facts about pancreatic cancer and transplantation are facts available to anyone. I came upon them serving as a tranplantation psychiatrist and a psychiatric cosultant for several cancer programs.
Experience which requires mastery of fact (objective information) and respect for subjective experience.
So al – why I respect your right to hold whatever opinion your minder impresses upon you or you may convince yourself of:
1) In areas where the basic science is quite clear, your assertions are often afactual.
2) Though you are entititled to whatever beliefs you choose to profess:
Whatever your purpose here is, obscuring the IPCC’s work as “Kirk’s opinion” won’t succeed.
Nor will afactual assertions.
Now go tell the minder – unless that’s all afactual, also.

kirk murphy @ 304
Kirk, I knew you had issues with me from your email of a few days ago, and I commented to some of the mods and others about them in very general terms. It is clear these issues go far beyond what I had hoped they might.
First, let me make it clear that I don’t regard you as an enemy in any way. I think you are going through a bad patch in your life, I don’t know what, and you have somehow transferred that to me. While I am not a trained psychologist, nor a trained MD, nor anything but a competent computer programmer and games theorist, I am a people person and you to me are showing signs of a very deep crisis of some sort. I’m sorry I won’t be around to help you with it.
Now as to my “afactual” stuff, Kirk, this is a late night chat room, dude! We aren’t doing for publication stuff here, no peer reviews involved. Lots of us, including me, are trying to pull together lots of stuff from many fields to try and contribute meaningfully to the wonderful flow of ideas and discourse here. Do we get it wrong sometimes? sure! does that mean we are all liars, pretenders to knowledge we do not have? I would not see that as a strong correlation at all.
I am a very opinionated and forceful person and that comes through in my comments here. But please note i try to always temper them with some uncertainty and always am eager to learn if I am wrong. I believe this is one of my strengths. I really think it is one of yours too.
Finally, of course, few of us can verify our “lake profiles.” I could be a fifteen year old boy making everything up, now couldn’t I? You might be a 89 year old grandmother who was well read in medicine and psychology. This “internet anonymity” is a problem and a strength, and sometimes it is hard to say which is more prevalent in a given situation. Certainly I don’t think it wise to offer “bona fides” on my career in this setting; on the other hand I think the quality of my comments, verifiable in all cases by links and other materials, should be sufficient for a reasonable person to conclude I’m not a total fabrication. And I have made i clear there are aspects of my life I haven’t clarified or may have only covered lightly. That, of course, is called Privacy, and you have as much right to it as I.
And this is neither the time nor the place to try and debate the intricacies of the global warming debate. You do seem to have missed that i really believe it is happening. I just disagree about what the effects will be.
But one thing is clear. The time has come for me to leave. I’m sorry, lakers, but this is goodbye. If Dr. Murphy wants to feel he has “run me off” that’s okay with me. But I cannot function knowing that anything I say may meet with a response such as the one I’m reacting to right now. And you lakers must not be sujected to this either. And Dr. Murphy has a fine connection to this blog which it would be most disrepectful of me to challenge. So it is i that must cede this field of battle, sadly but firmly.
You all know where I hang out. Feel free to drop by and read and leave comments. Even Dr. Murphy.

H3ll yeah, KO kicked it! And I’m sure the Mandela thing perfect sense to dubya :)
MR. Bill @ 334
Sounds like a tear to me. Tell your boss Dr. tw3k said u need rest!
Ooo, let me throw another log of cheer on the fire. Courtesy of Juan Cole’s blog for today, confirmation that 1) WHO has identified a cholera case in Baghdad; and 2) the U.S. military is holding up a shipment of chlorine at the Jordanian border, that would be used to purify water supplies and very likely tamp down water-borne epidemics before they start. Remember those chlorine truck attacks that were all the rage a few months ago? Can’t run any risks, now can we?
I hesitate to go here, but don’t forget what’s standing on your throat: I wonder how long the most improbably-named Dr. Gasseer has been the chief WHO officer in Iraq, and what she has to deal with to try to get her job done.
twȝk @ 338
Ok then Dr! Now about that vi*gra prescription…

Any idea when Rummy’s continued presence was last reliably confirmed? Given the will to do so, *presumably* Gates has the power to cast him out on his ass. Hard to discount the Cheney-Rumsfeld relationship.
Good morning, pups. Today Paul Krugman’s in the NYT, writing about Hillary’s health care plan. He says it’s basically John Edwards’ plan…

The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got a selection of bagels with cream cheese. LOTS of cream cheese.
As long as prostratedragon is spreading cheer I’ll chime in with this, courtesy of TruthOut. The Saudis are getting skittish about the dollar. The UK Telegraph has the story. Do you think we’ll read about it in our papers?
Fears of dollar collapse as Saudis take fright
Have a great Friday. I’m looking forward to digging in the dirt over the weekend.
Good morning Marion!
It’s a bran muffin and advil for me.
Got to take the scaffold back to the yard and then I’m gonna call it a rest day.
Y’all take it easy, I’m going to the Boyfriend’s early as the kids are at a Game/anime convention…
See you’un Monday.
MR. Bill @ 338
No need for that, just exercise and no booze!
twȝk @ 343
We’re clearly not thinking of the same sort of exercise.
Later…

Since we are looking on the cheery side I suppose it would be a good way to marshal in the new year!

The Cohen piece goes well with Vogue piece in the post above.
Wait. Did I read correctly?
Hillary’s health care plan is actually Winston the Cat’s health care plan?
Good morning
prostratedragon @ 339
wow. the attack on iraqui water continues. even as the blue dress was spotted with the presidential seal (of approval) water filtration equipment was being denied and it’s just continued.

Morning everyone. I didn’t read every word of Hillary’s health plan but in the summary I never saw anything about the responsibility of the ins. companies to, you know, actually pay the bills. I want one-payer health care but I would consider others if it guaranteed me that the freeking insurance would actually pay the bills.
When I had my first child (nearly 30 yrs ago), I had ins. and so did my husband. Never saw a bill. Everything was automatically pd. When I returned to work 15yrs later everything had changed. Hubby told me not to take out the ins. because his would only pay so much and the balance would not be pd by the second ins. So, then, when we would see mail from his ins. company we knew it was an explanation of why the latest claim was denied. We’ve changed things now. I carry the ins. (a better coverage) but we still have the occasional bill. Luckily we’re still healthy.

Earlier Morning Cuppa Reminders
Good Morning, firepups!
It’s cool with a light haze this morning in central Jersey, with another lovely day in the forecast. Many thanks for the happy birthday wishes from Egregious and other early morning Pups [yes, it was very happy]. I can only make a brief stop by the ‘Lake this morning–I’m off to deliver two more reports this morning, and draft a third, and get started on a fourth. Mr. NJP goes to visit his parents this morning [both are in the hospital–it’s the boomer life, looking after aging parents].
I’ve made a big pot of coffee, and there is some homemade cornbread on the counter [I use a little honey and brown sugar in my recipe–it’s delicious!].
Keep fighting the good fight, everyone. Justice and peace are our goals. Speak truth to all.
Work for peace, every day.
TRex,
You were right pointing out that bush-daddy bought his son a C-. Many have called bush*’s C’s gentleman’s C’s. bush*’s C’s were Legacy C’s and that is an important distinction to make. A gentleman’s C is still and Earned C.
Think about that C- for a second. An important Legacy student who was almost guaranteed a C for any class he took performed so poorly that the professor could not even abide giving him a C and gave a C-? You have to wonder if he even made it to class, turned in any homework or even took the exams. That C- is very revealing.
Well this maybe EPU’d but I hope you see it.
Best to you TRex,
JB
I’m eating homemade raisin bread now and the coffee is brewing. And we are waiting for a cold rain in Los Angeles, rather unusual…taking the 8th graders to LA City Council chambers today. I want to model a speaking to power for them with a two minute speech to the Mayor and council about lack of youth opportunities (excepting prison and the army of course!) Wonder if they will let me speak–I am not on the agenda.
But what can you say when the bastard thinks the Mandelas are dead, killed by Saddam. Can anyone under the Bush hypnotoad spell even glimpse reality?
