Just like the FISA bill, it was all a charade. And then today, they join with the Republicans in their little moment of mock outrage over MoveOn so we all just don’t talk about how badly the war is going. The Democrats have the majority, and THIS is what they let happen?

I think they voted as individuals and forgot they are Senators who represent states and the interests of all America, not just Americans.

In doing so they showed their feelings and forgot to uphold the Constitutionally mentioned Right of Free Speech. They were weak.

Not much new in that, unfortunately.

Hillary is the only Dem running for Pres. who isn’t afraid of the “vast right wing conspiracy”. The rest of the front runners are wimps. If she becomes President, I am counting on the Dem Congress to push the social agenda and Hillary to gut the Republicans. Both she and Bill have long memories and carry grudges.

She’s my senator and I can tell you that Hillary has a whole closet full of “greenstamps” that she has been saving. She is NOT nice …and I bet she has a very big set of teeth to bite with — but I really do feel that “not nice” with “big teeth” is what we need right now. Hillary has not gotten where she is today by trusting to the goodwill of the GOP.

Considering her policy positions and speeches I have to wonder just what’s in it for us if we help elect her. She doesn’t seem to stand for much that I want.

Getting elected is important and one way to do it is to promise to do things your electorate want. She isn’t doing that. Bye Hill.

I can’t imagine Elizabeth Edwards, military brat, NOT saying something. But, remember, she isn’t a senator, so hers is just another free speech voice like yours or mine. Hers is just hers and doesn’t represent hundreds of thousands or millions of voters.

Dunno the story on Obama.

I know it’s heresy to say on a political blog, but I’m ready to start checking out of politics altogether. For my own sanity. Day after humiliating day of watching our ‘leaders’ behave like clowns (Dems) and thugs (Rethugs). Dems took over Congress nine months ago and nothing has changed, except they’ve held a few hearings, all of which resulted in NOTHING. No accountability. There’s a dictator in the white house, and all they can do is bow and scrape to him while making a few noises to suggest their displeasure. I’m losing it really.

We have managed to get rid of some administration people and some have left for other reasons. There’s a list (somewhere) of something like 400 of the pugs who’ve been convicted, evicted, and otherwise diminished.

All is not lost…yet.

Obama released a statement:

This amendment was a stunt designed only to score cheap political points while what we should be doing is focusing on the deadly serious challenge we face in Iraq. By not casting a vote, I registered my protest against this empty politics. I registered my views on the ad itself the day it appeared.”

Is is just me or is everybody depressed?

I think things have been somewhat confusing and at times depressing since the August break. It appears DLCers have been triangulating again and minimizing the effect of Spkr. Pelosi and now they’re showing their colors in the Senate, joining with Repubs to end free speech along with some other Constitutional unalienable rights.

This is, I suppose, what we can expect from another Clinton presidency.
