well, I already had one today.
There should be 1 FDL post that goes on endlessly.
I am going to see Donita tomorrow night in Portland. I am still toying with the idea of making a FDL Hearts Donita sign.
Let’s get it back. Yes, Jane, let’s do. Here’s to you and all of your pups! Cheers.
Bustednuckles @ 7
oh do it!
ignore TV
seek your heart
Jonathan @ 6
How cool would that be?
Dana Milband said Bush answered the question from someone Keith can’t stand about the Betrayus ad. Sounds like the question was a plant.
Bustednuckles @ 7
What a great idea
Bustednuckles @ 7
Oh good idea, I should add her tour dates to the post.
Thanks!
Bustednuckles @ 7
Don’t forget to mention FDL at the door!
ccmask @ 11
That would be Lolo last spring?
who here wants to rebel?
Jonathan @ 6
Eternal thread
JPL @ 13
Do it, Busted. You can sign my name to it!
Did someone mention “Cherry Bomb”?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGoQNXWgopg
Jonathan @ 17
I’m sticking with being revolting, personally *g*
Eureka Springs @ 18
Yeah, my modem would love that. It gets tetchy any time a thread breaks 200.
EPU’d below: Special Comment on the President of Hypocrisy. This should be good!
EvilDrPuma @ 22
So would the FDL servers….
Thanks, Jane, what a nice thought.
Got EPU’d again, getting to be a habit.
zennurse @ 263
OKK, is your cable up?
JJ and L7!
‘throws panties at stage’
;>)
darkblack @ 27
We’ve seen your Photoshops. Ain’t no way we’re touching your panties.
Zennurse, I can get a flu shot for nothing and a pnemonia shot for $40. through work. Should I do it? I’ve never done it before. I’m 54 and in good health.
Thats right!
Mention Firepups to the T shirt stand and get a free bumper sticker and half off a sweatshirt.
OK, I’ll make the sign, Donita said it would be hilarious.
zennurse @ 25
We could start calling it getting ‘Zenned’, Ma’am!!! ;-)
Bustednuckles @ 7
Hey woah- Thanks for the heads up. I’ve got some early evening plans already, but I suspect there’s going to be an add-on. FDL convergence. Woot !
darkblack @ 27
thought that happened with Tom Jones
Bill Clinton on Daily Show tonite.
I love this song!!
Teh Runaways ruled.
KO is pissed, this should be a real stinger
ccmask @ 34
Cool!
Jane hearing about your new approach to your health was wonderful and taking a break is so important for all of us. I know you do a great deal and are so committed to Peace and Justice issues it is oh so obvious.
That seems to be the thread of commitment for all of the FDLers no matter what the differences are. As I have gotten older I have realized that the commitment to Peace and Justice are lifetime commitments.
Thank you for all you do.
TRex,
you’re one of my favorites
always, always love your comments
Hi TRex. How are you tonight?
Donita Sparks and the Donna’s;
Tomorrow night, 9 pm at the Hawthorne Theater in SE Portland.
Google the Hawthorne Theater for ticket info.
TexBetsy @ 40
Oh, fine, I guess, considering. Trying to figure out what to write about for tonight and what I’m going to play on my radio show.
As you can see, I am concentrating on this task with unparalleled fixity. Not daydreaming and surfing the web at all…
EvilDrPuma @ 28
I don’t remember mentioning whose they were…and until I see your evil doctor licence, hands off the merch.
;>)
My PBS station has a Democratic debate of the Presidential candidates on healthcare and such. It is from Iowa I think.
Alderman is saying the more Bush speaks, the better it is for
Democrats! Republicans don’t want him at the convention.
He is not doing them any favors on the SCHIP program.
Keith is showing the Clinton clip of her calling Cheney Darth Vader!
Loo Hoo. @ 29
flu yes, pneumonia no, you don’t need pneumonia unless you are elderly, immunocompromised or on dialysis. (Or work with really high risk people, like in a shelter) Some may say no to flu, but I think it’s a good idea. I moonlight giving flu shots for the VNA.
Looks like the Special Comment will be on the Betrayus ad.
Hugh @ 44
me too, is it new or a recycle?
Thanks, zennurse.
Thanks for the PBS heads up Hugh.
Bustednuckles @ 41
cool venue. Blast from the past.
CTuttle @ 31
No, I remember EPU and I firmly believe he’s lurking. He’s great and it was just the wierdest thing how that happened over and over and over, he’d comment and a new thread would be there *poof*!
But thanks for the sweet thought.
it’s so easy
being here
and singing (or preaching) to the like minded
i want a fight
I get the flu shot every year.
I’m off to Educate my son’s teachers at Back To School Nite. (On his Special Ed needs) Wish me luck.
I’ll be back…
Maybe…
Depending on Who’s Zooming Who.
Cozumel @ 36
And it’s all about the MoveOn ad! Great! Why was this issue so hard for seasoned politicians. We better find out why they act like they’re not sophisticates. Are they trying to feign outrage, or what?
Jonathan @ 53
Here ya go, have at it! LOL

Loo Hoo. @ 26
nope.
Loo Hoo. @ 49
any old time, sweetie, happy to help.
TRex @ 42
Hey, TRex. Hang in there.
But I object! Hanging out with our FDL friends doesn’t seem like either daydreaming or web surfing to me–just good sense!
Best,

With reference to MoveOn ad flap, should note that apparently it is OK for wingnuts to smear gen Abizaid merely for suggesting the GWOT language be toned down.

Jessie Jackson stated that he saw Micheal and he was in handcuffs and his legs were shackled.
Amazing to think that a Judge told these young black men that he could ruin their lives “with a stroke of a pen” for beating up a young white man. There is/was a possibility of life sentences for these young men.
Hells bells President Bush commuted Scooter Libby sentence “with a stroke of a pen” And the only thing that Libby did was commit perjury and obstruction of justice in the Federal investigation of the outing of a CIA agent who was involved with National Security.
Why is there any confusion about our justice system?
Cozumel @ 57
I’ll hate it every day.
But if we attack Iran, I’ll know the end of the current U.S. government is near.

Kucinich & Gravel should be on the stage.
em>The Washington Post’s Dan Froomkin reported that Bush told a blogger in Iraq that he’d like to be carrying a 50-pound pack and an M-16, but, “One, I’m too old to be out there. And, two, they’d notice me.”
If I’m not mistaken there are National Guard members in their 50s serving in Iraq.
Besides, Fiji might allow foreigners to enlist.
yes they all said no
All of the Democratic candidates at the debate (Obama, Gravel, and Kucinich are not there) just said they were against single payer healthcare.
The impression here is that we are very close to seeing nuclear conflict.

Hugh @ 83
Where’s the debate???
Just getting home from after-work obligations. Immediately donated to Pete Stark. Hope his comments about the MoveOn ad earn him big bucks.
Progressives, liberals, ordinary people, need to go all out to elect new members of congress in next year. Get good candidates into the primaries before the establishment Dems can get there and put in the fix, and then support them.
We can’t get rid of some of these very complacent establishment Dems who do nothing (at best), but we can start swamping them with new people, and injecting new blood.
Mrs K8!
“I too suffer from insomnia something fierce (pain doesn’t help either) ” Exactly.
It’s intermittent, thank goodness, but soooo annoying and limiting. Pain has been a bear this summer, but I bought a spa and am in it twice daily, heat or snow (actually snow is fun) and that helps a whole lot.
I had to take a break myself, about 6 months, but am deeply grateful to have been welcomed back with characteristic FDL warmth and snark!
I have your email around here somewhere, I’ll write more next week after my work weekend.
xo
Sorry folks
Bustednuckles @ 73
Oh dear. I missed the story about this. I’m hoping it’s nothing serious that’s being considered, but in any event all prayers and good wishes and best vibes possible being sent across the Valley of the Sun for Katymine now!
[If there are more details Firedogs know about, I’d be grateful to be brought up to date. Thx in advance!]
It’s important to shut Kuchinich up whenever and wherever possible. In fact it’s one of the most honourable objectives of this current election cycle. The man just doesn’t think like a Utah mine owner. Something is wrong with him.
Eureka Springs @ 77
Is there a debate???

In the back of his mind, did Bush wonder if Laura sent the Mandela family flowers? What an outrageous statement that was.
Keith,
Four documentaries on war. Ken Burns, the producer of four documentaries on war.
Looks like Ken is finding various people (600) who would be willing to tell real stories about what happened in the second world war. Not celebrity generals, just ordinary soldiers. Real stories. The experience of war is essentially the same.
yes solai, on PBS without Kucinich :(
The debate is on PBS.
Keith used T-Ball and Bush’s blurring the line between politics and the military that were featured on FDL today! Rock On, Keith. Keith (or his writers at least) are FDL fans.

Russia yesterday intensified the international scramble for control of the Arctic as scientists said that samples from a vast mountain range under the ocean show that it is part of Russia’s continental shelf.
Keith.
What is the value of seeing WW11 during the Iraq war.
All of the differences and similarities. It was shared sacrifice then, we have been asked nothing. We are not participating. We could be free of the causes of the Iraq war now-oil. Nothing has been done.
News was carefully censored during WW11, but soon the truth was told wiht caskets coming back. Now we do not have a media that tells what is happening. We have to search for the truth the same way a pornographer has to search for pornography.
They’re not showing it on my PBS channel. hmmm

Jonathan @ 95
I guess I’d have to put habeas first because it affects all the others; sadly, average america hardly knows what it is much less why it’s important. To me, that’s one difference between progressives and the average repug: I think we think for ourselves more after learning about an issue, like on a previous thread where a commenter said they were not so up to speed on the I/P issue, but was interested to read links and comments. In Freeperland, it’s shoot your mouth as long as it’s in the general direction of that day’s list of talking points.
I had never heard of free republic when I came here, and had to ask what a freeper was. I still remember cruising through that site with my mouth open. It astounds me that people can be so stupid and think they are making sense.

Jonathan, I have never ever been a TV watcher. Except during JHS- Topper, Little Miss Margie, etc.
But, at the same time, I actually enjoy the reports from folks here at FDL who do watch TV. So that I don’t have to.
I figure that their distillation of what’s out there in terms of popular culture, and accompanying comments, is well worth reading.
Sure has been in the past. And, even once or twice gotten me to watch TV online. I would have never tuned into the Colbert commentary at the Press Club dinner w/o a heads up from FDL folk. AND that was well worth watching!!!!
You go, KO!
Kathy/Fozzetti @ 130
That could very well be. One thing I’ve noticed about the wingnuts in my life is they don’t like dissent at all and they don’t like the idea of images of the war being played every night on our televisions, because they know this will lead to dissent.
The fascists want no opposing opinion to be heard. The End.
I want my country back!
KO on fire…careful Keith, you just had surgery!
Loo Hoo. @ 151

LoudounLib @ 156
Hi LL
“pissy juvenile attack on the democrats . . . ” KO on W.
Eureka Springs @ 77
I thought so too, and I’m pissed because single payer is what I’m looking for. Of course, it has to be better run than section D of Medicare, the Prescription Drug deal. That was poorly done. I couldn’t possibly ever come out of pocket over $3,000/yr (mostly in the last 4 months); I’d be dead from lack of drugs before I could come up with that much money to pay for them.

Special Comment:
Bush on the MoveOn ad.
Pissed that Bush said democrat party.
A plant to ask him the question.
Putting a military man in the hot seat.
Blinding explosion on the ad to win in 2004. Slamming Kerry and Cleland okay.
Line between military and civilian is not to be crossed.
McCarthy analogies, time to do this now. Plot to remove FDR thwarted.
Line between civilian and military not to be crossed. Betrayus has ruined his career.
No rules for the republicans in this regard. PIMPING pETREAUS.
It is a line that should never be crossed, history will show this is a thought toward a military junta.!!!
“Get back behind that line, Mr. Bush!”
Nice one. ;-)
I would have added, “You little weasel!”.
Mr. LS says Kucinich was on Lionel (AirAmerica) this morning, and he says he was great. One can go to their website to listen to past shows. Seems that’s the only way now to hear him, since the Dems are so afraid of him and Gravel that they have dissed them. That really makes me sick. Some democracy…well..we learned about that today..again…didn’t we.
We are checking, and it appears that Blackwater is off the MSM radar. It is important to point out that Blackwater’s actions have paralyzed Bush’s war. The State Department people, the CIA, and civilians, are basically imprisoned in the Green Zone, or operating at extreme risk. No wonder they are focusing on Moveon. The “contractor” problem is not going to just smooth over with the Iraqis. They are on it, and they are on it big time. They aren’t going to say, oh…fine…keep killing our innocent citizens at random. No sirree, Bob.
Wow, Keith was brutal.
Wow, great Special Comment from KO!

Can’t wait till Keith’s transcripts come out.
George Bush said that the Moveon ad was an attack on the US military. Gee…isn’t Bush the Commander of the military at the moment, so any attack we do is really an attack on him?
Sorry. Lousy work.
KayInMaine @ 175

Ann in AZ @ 162
If Kucinich were there we sure would be hearing about single payer. Who decided he would not participate
George Bush should be tried for crimes against humanity. And if convicted, spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Bush is getting his message through his hearing aid when he says that the ad is attacking Betrayus!! That’s why he is talking so slow!! Check it out. (I don’t have a link–it was on tv again!)
Twice earlier I said that Hillary made the smart choice in voting against condemning MoveOn.org.
Now I am more convinced than ever. Even Abrams is taking the yes voters on. Why? These guys make their living on the First Ammendment. Duh.
Abrahms.
It’s a political ad. Will congress be called upon to decide on which political speech is acceptable?
When the Swift Boaters had an agenda, that was A-OK!
GOP Sycophants = Goddamn bastards

Dan Abrams keepin’ it going…

Jonathan, used to paint. No time for it with my day job. But, I am plenty good at looking inward. Trust me on that. Seriously. To a fault, sometimes. But, I come to FDL too look outward as well, something much needed for balance in my life. The posts here, and the comments, are smart, astute, and often very funny. I would guess that a high percentage of folks who comment here have done their fair share of looking inward. I am hugely an introvert. But, sometimes it helps me to “get out of the house”.
Kathleen@190 AARP I have their number if you want to complain. You can get it from K’s people, they wouldn’t relent & allow him to participate.

And miss this stuff? Are you kidding:))
The Dems fell for it big time today and showed their true colors. Notice Buchanon–how the story is about the 22 Dems and not any of the Gop who voted along with it.
Bush and the Texas Air National Guard, a story that will never go away … it has a life of its own.
Why? Because Bush’s time in the TANG perfectly defines the man who is its subject, and in that, it rings with historical truth. Bush thinks his legacy will be that of a great statesman. Maybe so. But along with that he will have to bear the burden of being a lying coward. Yes, he was not only a coward during the Vietnam war, but he lied about it.
But speaking of which, why is Rather suing CBS for a mere $60 mil? Shouldn’t it be more like $600 million? He is selling himself too short.

did anyone mention the boxer amendment? the one that also condemned moveon? the one that only senator feingold voted against (of the Ds)?
clinton did vote FOR condemning moveon when she voted for the boxer amendment.
ccmask,
you know more, in your heart, than anyone in congress
trust yourself
Jonathan @ 214
I think so too. Just stop bashing those folks here who watch TV, so that we don’t have to, k? ;)
Please? Pretty please? I really enjoy the TV comments. I love being a voyeur.
What kinds of things do you paint/ draw? Medium, subjects, etc?
ccmask @ 219
That’s how it always works in a fascist nation. See? The GOP is never condemned for spitting on America and we all know they do it all the time.
Can someone reassure me that the last seven years has just been a bad nightmare and I’m talking to all of you right now in my head right before I wake up to my son saying, “Mom! Look! Winnie the Pooh is on!”? Thank you.
this is a disappointing partial debate.
No donations without representation. Period.

Wow, from what I’ve seen recently, I’m actually beginning to think that some elements of the MSM are actually getting it. Imagine, they actually realize we’re speaking about free speech here. And free political speech. At free political speech when it’s spoken by liberal democrats, at that! That’s a big WOW.
I would think it’s only MSNBC, but I think I’ve noticed the same from CNN recently, too. Doing a better job actually getting to the root of the problem. And getting there faster. And not trying to triangulate it or force a “clear and balanced” viewpoint when it can only be read one way. I hope this is real improvement, but I’m afraid to consider that it could be so.
Jonathan @ 226
Of course she does! But, knowing something in your heart does F-all in terms of speaking and impacting the outside world as far as current politics are concerned. My heart has always been in the right place, but before I discovered FDL, I did not have the political education I needed to take my heart to the wider world.
I hope Moveon.org next week takes out billboards across this country condemning the Congress’ spitting on the 1st Amendment and for being the Orwellian Thought Control Police Bastards they are!
LS @ 223
more coming up (i know waxman is planning one). this is just the first… jayt caught it this morning while listening to washington journal.
i called c-span today to request they cover tomorrow’s hearing. fingers crossed.
I’m glad to see my 2 senators from NJ stood up for the right thing.
Dan Abrams, I am shocked, shocked to hear you flaming our gutless poiticians.
To repeat once again, Petraeus failed in his mission to train Iraqis in 2004-5. Petraeus lost 190,000 weapons, many to insurgents. This should be enough for a court martial. Gen. Betray-us also seems to have failed with his “surge”.
His real failure is to the troops he commands. He is a coward because he only does what Kommander Guy tells him. Every top military commander in Iraq has failed since the Occupation began. The Genocide is proof of failure. This continuing attack on MoveOn, that generals are immune to review and criticism is hilarious.
selise @ 225
Any idea why there is no record of the Boxer vote on the senate vote page?

yay!

It’s here (2nd page):

Eureka Springs @ 240
the page you’re looking at only shows the last 2 roll call votes. the boxer amendment was three votes ago. see this page.
Loo Hoo. @ 244
Schultz is not on AA Hes on the Jones network
Did the Senate vote today wrt the ad reveal the true Democrats in office?
Jonathan @ 233
ah! light! Edward Hopper? And, as for abstract? Mark Rothko. Both very profound artists.
Bustednuckles @ 203
First he needs to be impeached.
ccmask @ 248
yes. in the senate there is exactly one. senator russ feingold.
VG at 249
I try to dig deep into myself.
Thank you Kay and selise.
ccmask @ 248
‘fraid so. IIRC, there’s only ONE who voted against both the Cornyn and Boxer amendments.
Feh!

Written by John Gibson, Fox News:
A fresh outrage from Iranian President Ahmadinejad today.
He has ordered his diplomatic mission at the U.N. — where he is attending the opening of the General Assembly next week — to request security assistance for the Iranian president to visit Ground Zero.
The answer should be an unequivocal no.
The New York Chief of Police Ray Kelly said even though foreign leaders visiting the U.N. are free to travel in the city, it depends on what he wants to do and see because construction for the new Freedom Tower is already underway, and he would only be able to go where the tourists go.
We wouldn’t want anything happening to him among all those tourists, would we?
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney jumped on the issue. “This would deeply offend the sensibilities of Americans from all corners of our nation,” Romney said.
Face it, Mr. “I’m-a-Jihad” just wants to tick you off, and rub your nose in his taunts. I don’t have to go through the list of his offenses, do I?
Does he want to giggle in pleasure at the sight? Does he want to condescendingly offer Americans his phony sympathies? Does he want to pick up on bin Laden’s recent tape message and urge Americans to elect anti-war Democrats? Is he going to wave around his membership card in MoveOn.org?

Jonathan @ 252
I’m sure. But I thought that there might be some artists, gone before, who have done the same, and whose work you might admire.
KayInMaine @ 236
Actually, I hope Moveon decides this is a side circus and that the real issue is the thousands of lives (Iraqi and “coalition”) and Billions of dollars being thrown away every month for no fucking reason. The criminals promoting this war overtly or implicitly would love nothing more than for Moveon to help keep this bullshit alive.

Valley Girl –
Your expression of this sentiment is beautiful and eloquent. I think I would have stumbled around and created numerous excess paragraphs in attempting to say the same thing.
Thank you!
[p.s. Please forgive me for not responding to youe thoughtful email a few weeks back — we were preparing for a trip, and in the course of all that I discovered a new medical problem which puts a kink in my efforts to freakin’ WALK, grrrr…. But I want you to know I appreciate your thoughtfulness a whole lot. I don’t know when I’m going to be able to respond to Lew or the other publisher, though. We have to travel again, for work, and try to find appropriate medical speci*li*ts, etc. Much love to you and appreciation for your comments here.]
Valley Girl @ 259
i admire lots of artists
Leonardo, Matisse, Brueghel(sp?), for exampel
As an OT,
Right this minute there is a three star general having a town meeting in the very same place Brian Baird got his ass handed to him a week or so ago taking him back to the woodshed.
He even took out a full page ad , much like the Move-on ad, laying out his opposition to Baird’s new found revival.
I will scan the local news tomorrow and relate the current beat down.
BTW: Leahy voted for the Cornyn Amdt. Another one with clay feet.
Valley Girl @ 249
OMG. My two favorites! I paint also..oils. My paintings are similar to both Hopper and Rothko! Campadres!!

John Gibson has to be the biggest racist and liar in the world. If you click on any of his stories–they are all the same.
Loo Hoo. @ 262
he wrote the book on blackwater (really). he’s an amazing investigative reporter, Democracy Now! correspondent, Nation fellow and he won his george polk award in 1998 with amy goodman for their documentary, “Drilling and Killing: Chevron and Nigeria’s Oil Dictatorship”
here’s an interview he did yesterday on Democracy Now! – Can Iraq (or Anyone) Hold Blackwater Accountable for Killing Iraqi Civilians? A Debate on the Role of Private Contractors in Iraq
realworld @ 266
His vote is the most puzzling when you think about it. I don’t think Webb or Tester’s votes are that much of a suprise, as much as we might like dislike it.
BTW: I don’t know if anyone caught Richard Durbin raising reThug swiftboating in the debate and the rejection of his amendment to include it in Cornyn amendment but I have heard nothing of it in the media. I’m so surprised.
KayInMaine @ 273

[This is my second attempt to write this comment; hope I’m not repeating myself on everybody else’s screens — it’s not showing up on mine.]
Thank you for this eloquently written sentiment. I would have thrashed around for several paragraphs and still not have nailed what you express so perfectly.
[p.s. I hope you forgive me for not responding to your email several wks ago. We were preparing for a strenuous trip, and I was discovering a new medical problem which is throwing a monkey wrench into my efforts to just freakin’ WALK. Don’t know when I’ll get to write to Lew or the other publisher, since we have another trip, for work, to prepare for, plus the search for the relevant medical specialists to help me. But I want you to know how much I appreciate your thoughtfulness, and your comments here. Much love to you!]

I would love to see that.
The President sure went silent today when David Gregory asked about Israel’s bombing of Syria. “no comment” twice.
Can you imagine if Syria, Iran or any other country consistently flew into Israel’s airspace. All hell would break lose.

I haven’t heard boo about the Boxer Resolution. I knew that what happen. That’s why Reid is such a schmuck.
LS @ 266
Wow! Years ago I got to see a Rothko retrospective in DC. Had not seen so many of his paintings in the same place before. Only a few, here and there, and they mesmerised me. Seeing the paintings in the flesh was a totally different experience than seeing reproductions in books. So, you can imagine that I was totally overwhelmed by the DC exhibit. An “abstract” painting can move one to tears? Oh yes.
And, Hopper. Well I’ve gone on a bit about Rothko, so I will keep this part brief. But, as far as I can see, “light” is an important part of his paintings. Gather there is a touring exhibit of his paintings- retrospective- at present. I hope I get to see it.
Bustednuckles @ 265
Busted do let us know.
Donta Rocks! Great Tube!
And Cheer Up Guys! We are winning despite what happened in the Senate. Where are the poll numbers?! They ain’t with the Repugs or Boosh. Time is on our side. The Shift is n our favor.

I’ve tried twice now to send a comment your way, in response to something I found brilliant in your remarks. And now twice it’s not showing up.
Not even in the “held for moderation” way. I give up, and will send you an email later tonight.

FYI, new post
Damn shame we don’t get to veto when a state’s citizens elect a complete fool for Senators. If we had veto rights, most of the Rethugs would be gone. But then they’d have some sort of veto rights too, so I guess we’d have an empty Senate. I doubt you could do much worse than the current crop. I tend to agree, most of them are just a bunch of WATB with no spines.
LS @ 282
I get an idea. Work on it.
Then paint from feeling.

Oops.
My “refresh comments” button was not working, I needed to refresh the whole page the old-fashioned way, I guess.
And now I see I used one of those normal English words that hides a pharmaceutical spam item within it. Sigh. I wish my monitor had shown that my comment was in moderation. Don’t know why it didn’t.
But I’ll try to be better in future. My first comment to you came through, showing now as number 263 on my screen. Sorry for any confusion. I’ll retreat now and call it a day.

Jonathan @ 293
I like that too. I try not to have the idea. I fight the “idea” even. I fight all the “rules”. It is there, but I find out later, as it develops. I am usually surprised. I just detach and go for it.
Mrs. K8 @ 288
Mrs. K8- your comment is up- do a hard refresh.

Well, that is a huge compliment, because you are so much more eloquent than I am.

LS @ 267
And Comadres!
Loo Hoo. @ 299
Yes!!
For those interested:
1/3rd each: Linseed oil, turpentine, and sun-thickened Linseed oil.
Takes awhile to dry, but wow. Given to me by a someone who was a portrait-painter with Met connections. Goes back to Velasquez origins, although they liked to use olive oil.
LS @ 301
Thanks. I’ve been using Venice Turpentine a lot as a medium lately (it’s really a resin), with a spot of Pale Drying Oil. Do love how it dries quickly and holds the hues and values so well. I’ll have a poke at your combo, though, as I love Velasquez, Rubens, Van Dyck, et al.
