typo alert:

S.Amend.2202 should read S.Amdt.2022

(the link is to the correct bill)

Please fix this. I just called Kit Bond (my GOP Senator in MO) and ended up sounding like an idiot referring to “S.Amend.2202″ and got corrected by a smarmy (and accurate) Bond operative that it was really “2022.” A small point but please fix ASAP.

Me: If you do not know what’s been happening in our government, you probably should not be working for Senator Lieberman.

Office Flunky: Maam, as a US Citizen, your right has never been affected.

Me: Padilla is a US citizen, and he was tortured for 5 years without seeing a lawyer, without seeing a judge, do you call that “never been affected?

Office Flunky: Maam, as a US Citizen, you have the rights of habeus, and that right has never been affected.

Me: “Thats BULLSHIT!” Slams down the phone.

Yep…. if you do research on Kyl, he has wanted to distroy Habeas for years.

He wants direct from apprehension to conviction to death row to the execution to be within months.

Ok… now I have my next action against Kyl… have everyone send him a copy of the Constitution with the section on Habeas highlighted. YEP…. hundreds of copies… na it will not change his mind, he just will put a new section on his webpage about how he supports the Constitution just like he did when we challanged him on his votes for Vets.

To that end, Katymine, I have been trying to find copies of the Constitution that are typed and ready to be copied or sent. The best one I found so far was this.

Section 9 contains the following statement:

The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.

I intend to send his office a copy, hopefully by e-mail so that I can just highlight the appropriate words, and just put a brief not at the end saying: ’nuff said.

He’s a yes vote however for Larry Craig.

Aaarrrggghhhh Me Hearties!

hee hee. MAN we needed a good guffaw about now! I passed that TLAP day link on to a bunch, and it ignited & spread like crazy.

Then I annoyed Sen. Voin’s office agin. There’s just no telling what he’ll do. He’s the sort that, after 3-4 months, will get back to me with a 3-page single-space letter with an appropriate title, but no content other than repugnant jibberish - picture refrigerator-magnet pug talking points all strung together in random order.

I tried to poke harder this time, but with barely enough proper respect.
Righteous anger doesn’t do it any more.
