Horseshit. The Democrats who voted for the 2002 war resolution should take full responsibility for their votes, apologize(as Edwards has done) and explain the detailed reasoning for their vote and then move to the next step.

You cannot completely moveon with a person, candidate or community until the mistake is fully acknowledged. (otherwise always an undercurrent). Edwards has dealt with that undercurrent by acknowledging his very serious mistake.

Be careful about givin’ the Democratic leadership in the Senate too many kudos for stoppin’ Gruppenfuehrer Olson’s nomination for AG…it appears that the fix is in and Schumer has givin his blessing to a wingnut corporatist district judge from the Manhattan district. What the fuck is THAT all about…the corporate media reports that Chuck Schumer approves of a New York judge, so that means that the Democrats will approve??!! The Clinton-A*P*C machine controls the House thru Rahm Emmanuel and the Senate thru Chuck Schumer. In the end,these two folks (and their main girl on the street, Mrs. Clinton)have no real differences with the corporate fascists in the White House and the balance of the federal judiciary…Chuck Schumer is in a huge battle with Elliot Spitzer to control the New York party and establish his credentials with the Wall Street moguls…this is, for Schumer, the ticket to ride the political corporate money train.

This election cycle and the specific issues addressed (or not) in the Congress during this election cycle have nothing to do with ideology, principle or values and EVERYTHING to do with politics which is nuthin’ more than the relationship of people to corporate power. I would like to see TalkLeft,FDL and some a the other progressive legal beagles dig around in the garbage left behind in this process of gettin’ a new AG…I think it wouldn’t take much to uncover the direct line Schumer has to the fascists.

I hear you – 36 at my house at 7 a.m. – lots of fog. Nothing like one of those Canadian highs…

Too early for that sort of thing! When I lived in Calgary, it was OK, but now I have finally made the transition (after only 20 some odd years) to living in a subtropical climate, I couldn’t bear it. My biggest problem right now is getting my new greenhouse built before our first killing frost in November or December to protect the 250 orchids that I now grow. (The crazy wet summer made all my plants very very happy and very very big!)

Gnome – I have a couple of orchids that I have to keep indoors – the summers are just too crazy. Usually, our “first frost” is the end of September, with the first killing frost at toward the end of October(which turns the Hallowe’en pumpkins on the stoops into much). At this rate, we’ll have our first killing frost at the end of September, which will make people very very unhappy indeed.

CC- my glasses did the same thing most of the summer! This morning our low was 68, but the humidity was 95%. Of course, by time I got up the temp was 73 . . . We are supposed to only hit 90 as a high today. Fall is here.
