dday: we will put putting out press releases regularly as the campaign progresses, but doing so hasn’t been a priority yet, even for utter dunderheadedness such as this decision to pre-fire Chemerinsky. (If there were a coordinated response by local Democratic candidates, we’d be there, of course. In fact, that may be a tack to take.) The only exception we’ve made on a state/local issue so far is Ron’s endorsement of the Courage Campaign, with which you’re involved, because it’s simply so incredibly important.

Well, the donation recipient (us) and hat provider (Howie) are not the same entity, and it wasn’t our idea or initiative to provide this extremely cool caps, so I don’t think it’s buying a hat. It’s Howie’s party, and I will just say that the man sure knows how to throw one!

Ron, I think you should speak out about the firing of legal scholar Erwin Chemerinsky to be the Dean of UC Irvine’s new law school, solely because the right started shrieking about his “liberal views.” It’s not quite in your district, but it’s a resonant issue that has a lot of decent people in the OC very angry. The right has gone too far, overplayed their hand, and it would be great for you to join that chorus and challenge Gary Miller to defend it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Miller’s predecessor also the first sitting member of Congress to wear one of those radio signal ankle bracelets so his probabtion officers could keep track of him after he was convicted of very similar crimes to the ones Miller is accused of.

Yes, that’s true. Kim was convicted of campaign finance law violations. I don’t think those are part of Miller’s concerns, are they?

The season is young, Badwater. Did I mention that one way people can help from wherever they are is with … research? ;7) Miller knows what his concerns should be; it is for us to find out.
