Vintage Amy.
Hopefully this will calm everybody’s nerves after that god-awful speech. Every time George Bush opens his mouth, I feel the whole world get a little dumber.

Vintage Amy.
Hopefully this will calm everybody’s nerves after that god-awful speech. Every time George Bush opens his mouth, I feel the whole world get a little dumber.
TREX!
That’s why I don’t listen to him! badabing!
zed who?
zedly wedly (not!)
Yanno, I figure I’m doin’ pretty good here. I’m trying to read the article, enough to say something sensible, and hit the zed without saying zed, these days.
And I’ve got the same time stamp here! *preen*
cinco!
ok it was seis, but who’s counting…
How is Ms. W doing these days, health-wise?
LoudounLib @ 6
Sorry, I think I got that one…;-)
I can’t look at him, he was silly, sitting there with that deer in teh headlights look for seconds before he started speaking…. OH man that was bad TeeVee…
Has he been watching Buchanan with his chopping motions… chop chop….
TRex!
katymine @ 9
Someone downstairs recommended a photo of W on the fridge to help with dieting.
Jeebus, talk about inducing instant anorexia :-/
Well, I’ve been thinking, at least now we’ve got our date certain! We definitely now have our timetable for withdrawal, and I certainly hope that’s the way the Dems frame it.
I’ve been really worried about Amy lately. Hope she’s able to face her demons.
Speaking of the Preznint, I ran across one of the best sigs ever in a dKos comment…
kirk murphy told downstairs.
peanutbutter @ 13
Or bulimia.
18?
yellowdog jim @ 18
you nailed it!
I’m worried about Amy, too. Everybody pray for her. She seems pretty intractable.
I keep flashing back to the headline in one of the London tabloids the day after the 2004 election:
“How can 63,000,000 people be so stupid?”
Ann in AZ @ 18
This isn’t entirely snarq. I literally CANNOT watch or listen to that man; if he is on at a public place i either leave or put in my slate pc headphones until it stops. I honestly believe if forced to listen to it i might attack the device providing the feed. physicall, with intent to disable or if needed, destroy.
It is literally a gut reflex with me now.
yellowdog jim @ 18
We all have our personal challenges.
TRex, I am loving this vid! A voice like hers needs to burn brightly for a long while.
“Nothing but blue skies” — Big Brother explains the fine points of the Forever War.
Ann in AZ @ 13
That’s likely exactly how they’ll frame it….”well, the President has agreed to withdrawing troops, so we have to be non-partisan and give him everything he asks for.”
ello.
my head is gonna essplode.
i thiink my fever is back.
althespook @ 22
Yeah, I hear ya. I can’t really even look at pictures of him, or read his transcripts, I get too angry.
Best Winehouse I’ve seen/heard, as a combination of both. Wonder if someone asked her to wear the jacket to cover the tatoos?
aw Cassie, sorry you’re not feeling well :-(
SnarKassandra @ 28
snarkita! you are seeck? where is yo mammacita?
Cassie esta enferma :-(
it is 400 degrees in my room and it was freezeing when i woke up. :(
SnarKassandra @ 34
are you taking anything? going to see el doctore?
I posted this a couple threads back, but there’s a whole new crowd here, so, from EPU land:
I’m very curious about the amount of influence the defense contractors are having on Iraq policy, as opposed to the oil industry, and Halliburton.

Thank you.
peanutbutter @ 28
His voice irritates me all to hell. His dad’s voice was annoying but Junya’s is just nails across a chalkboard to my ear. I gravitate to speaking and singing voices with my training and general audio obession. This just sends me running or i start swearing to drown it out. Ugh.
I didn’t like him to begin with, but those little factors for the last 8 years just made it even more reflexive in the dislike reaction.
punaise @ 19
thanks.
it was close.
dodging that ‘17′.
i’d like to thank Jesus Christ.
He could have stopped me but He was too busy.
i owe it all to me.
and kathy griffin.
SnarKassandra @ 27
Oh dear… sorry to hear :-(
The sad part is that it is a total waste of fine Ivy School Education…. hard to keep telling your kids to “stay in school” or you just might start sounding like the Prez.
What type of cracker jacks did he get his MBA?
I am taking advil and a throat thingy with tylenol in it and lots of liquids.
{{{{SnarKassandra}}}}
RonD @ 36
if you get anything please post. will be great grist for other bloggers (ahem) mills…

OJ, green tea, pomegranate juice… Stay away from milk products for a bit…
Hello all,
I’m just dropping by to check in. I missed the speech…I just couldn’t do it, but did read some great rebuttals. that’s nice.
I noticed some of you dumping on Lantos a little bit. Yeah, yeah, I”m no big fan, but he stepped up this week and I just heard his office took quite a beating for it.
Professional goopers came out of the woodwork to verbally abuse his staff all week. If any of you live in his district you might want to send a little TLC their direction…I can only imagine what went on at Dem offices all across the country this week now that they are (finally) speaking out.
Nasty stuff. One might say, vituperous.
Peace, (now!)
SnarKassandra @ 41
I’m not sure it is a good idea to mix advil and tylenol. any nurse/emm dee still up to comment?
hey burns, epu’ed from somewhere last thread — have you had a chance to check out Fine Tunings on XM?
RonD @ 43
ditto.
I have blogtreats…
althespook @ 49
paging surgeon general Kirk…
RonD @ 36
I just know that Arizona has received over 91 Billion dollars in defense contract work since the start of the war. Ya McCain & Kyl really bring home the bacon.
althespook @ 50
Those are not chocolate.
SnarKassandra @ 40
Be sure to take a bath and get your hair wet if the fever gets to 103.
althespook @ 48
Aunt Betsy said it is OK.
LoudounLib @ 49
Only briefly. So far, I like. I still miss HFS, though.
althespook @ 48
Is the tylenol a throat spray or lozenge, Cassie? cause it’s good to alternate tylenol and advil, but i’m not sure about taking them together. I’d have to check up on that myself. I know that i don’t do that at all when i’m sick out of habit. Both anti inflammatories but advil’s a NSAID where tylenol is an analgesic with the same properties.
Shadowstalker @ 27
Oh, no, that’s not what I meant at all, although I also fear they’ll do what you say. I mean they need to say loud and clear so the public can hear that the Prez long term relationship will not last longer than the remainder of his term, and a lot less if we have anything to say about. Even if they do give in and give him some of the money he’s asking for (and I think they should make him come back and ask for more every three months until the end of his term, just on general principals,) I find it unconscionable if they do not extract a pound of flesh from the President before they do. If they can’t take the upper hand with a weak president and the peoples on their side, they may very well lose the next election. They will lose because they have proved themselves sheeple, and they will deserve the loss under those circumstances. When are they ever gonna win one?
SnarKassandra @ 56
we shall accede to her wisdom. And no, my shiny new blogs are not chocolate. But do you have any IDEA of how much work it is to make a blog out of chocolate? getting to stuff onto the server without screwing up the hard drive is bad enough; usually the sysops eat it before you can do anything with it.
:)
SnarKassandra @ 28
Do you have flu? Gonna see a doctor?
burnspbesq @ 56
We’ll never see the likes of HFS around here again, sadly. Fine Tunings, The Loft, and Cafe will do me though :-)
Tylenol/throat thingy is two teaspoons. Advil is one pill. Not all at the same time cause I just started with the advil and didn’t add the throt thing till tonight.
Ann in AZ @ 58
How about this pound of flesh:
Ask his fucking base for their tax cut back.
al, where’s the animal pic?
TRex sayeth:
it is like he sucks so bad that it vacuums the intelligence out of the population.
(claps hand to forehead)
IT’S HIS SECRET SUPERVILLAIN SUPER POWER!
should i go to the doctor? really? i have been sick for like 12 hrs.
althespook @ 48
No need for both. Over medicating won’t help. *I am not a medical professional*
aliasofwestgate @ 57
Tylenol has acetaminophen. I hate acetaminophen. But mixing them is probably okay. They will attack the pain from different directions.
This info on tylenol and advil interactions from ivillage:
Sounds like Aunt Betsy is right.
Loo Hoo. @ 65
Right here. Been blogging on my own stuff and forgot. Won’t happen again.
Cassie, I would not recommend staring at a computer screen when you have a fever and your skin is all creepy-crawly and your head hurts. The constant flashing will hurt your eyes and give you a nasty headache. Go lie down and get Aunt B to read you something from a book or magazine.
Or she could read you the comments here, I guess, I just don’t recommend looking at a computer right now. Last time I was online with a fever I got a headache like my whole head was one big throbbing rotten tooth. It was awful.
Feel better.
*pats your head gently*
Cassie, if I missed it I’m sorry — what was your latest temp?
SnarKassandra @ 66
Aunt Betsy will know what to do.
Hi all! Listening to Amy now TRex but haven’t read the comments…
What’s newz?
katymine @ 10
I was at Drinking Liberally (with Pach!), and everyone seemed to think that other people would want to watch it (we had Countdown on), but when it was about to start, there was a near-unanimous “turn it off!”
Nice of MSNBC to provide a countdown timer so we knew when to bail out. *g*
SnarKassandra @ 67
it is a matter of how high your fever gets, i suspect. If you have a cold, fine. If you have some nasty variant of the flu (and just starting school is a FINE time to get that, as I know all too well from my own kids) you need to see your emm dee asap. modern flu can be very dangerous to younger people these days, as in fatally dangerous.
Ann in AZ @ 58
It does seem that they are determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Dems leadership’s lack of courage has become so very annoying.
katymine @ 52
Thanks, katymine. Exactly the kind of stuff I’m looking for.
SnarKassandra @ 66
Depends on your temps. If it spikes, go in.
Aunt Betsy outranks everyone here in Cassie care. Hope you feel better soon!
I saw this picture today TRex and all I could think of was you yelling, “Fight… Fight!!! FIGHT!
Just stopped by to see what was going on…. I am heading to bed….
Since I had to experience the American health care system in person Tuesday evening….. the joy of being a widget being processed through the ER. Just wait until I get the bill!
TheOtherWA @ 81
FDL Surgeon General Betsy. Salute!
TheOtherWA @ 80
Exactly. She’ll know what to do.
SnarKassandra @ 62
Ah a throat coating. That’ll work fine then. Aunt Betsy’s got it right. *grins*
althespook @ 70
So sweet!
aliasofwestgate @ 86
Aunt Betsy hangs out with disadvantaged, displaced school kids in her paying job. I suspect a lot of “under the table” nursing goes with that….
peanutbutter @ 47
Chicken soup, and does Advil take down a fever like aspirin does? Or you might consider some rubbing alcohol, that is, to put on some material or a towel and rub on your arms and legs and body. Sort of a sponge bath with rubbing alcohol.
Feel better soon, SnarKassandra.
And with that, Lake-izens, it’s to bed for me. The best of all possible tomorrows to you all.
RonD @ 79
It was an article in the Arizona Republic(ian) but cannot remember when. AZ has Honeywell, Allied Signal, Rathyon, Boeing which make the Apache helecopters, the list goes on and on..
really beat here, good night all
Cassie, feel better!
yellowdog jim @ 37
you didn’t thank the little people who made all this possible.
katymine @ 39
Well, they have to pay attention, not just stay in the school building. Maybe you could tell them “if you don’t study hard and learn well, you could end up like Bush!” *g*
(One of my personal grudges against W is what he’s done to the reputation of my fine school…)
Or among friends and family of pharmacy techs that help out when asked questions about OTC stuff. I had to scold my dad a few months ago about not taking his painkillers after he’d severely broken his foot. He wouldn’t have to abuse it, but dammit. The stuff is meant to take down the post surgery swelling. So..minor daughter takedown to get dad to do so. And this was after my OWN surgery in may! *laughs*
Mom still asks me about questions for stuff like that, as do my friends.
Al, dude. She’s a perfectly healthy 14 year old girl with a cold. Don’t tell her she’s gonna freakin’ die. She has to fall asleep tonight at some point, ya know. You’re gonna give her nightmares.
I still remember some of the fever dreams I had when I was a teenager. Whatever you do right now, Cassie, don’t read “Lord of the Flies”.
And you’re going to be fine, dear, althespook is being a big alarmist. I may be forced to thwack him with my tail.
I have 101. I am going to listen to music in bed. Good night.

It’s official. I am in a strange mood tonight. I’m listening to REO Speedwagon, and Blue Oyster Cult may be next.
Aloha punaise.
althespook?
re bent spear.
i’m confused.
a general was used for authorisation.
but the general had been dead for a year.killed in iraq.
someone said no general had died in iraq.
i’ve missed a lot of comments.
has the discrepancy been resolved?
HOW MANY TIMES HAVE I TOLD YOU NOT TO BRING THAT KIND OF FILTH INTO THIS HOUSE??!!
TRex @ 94
Or “The Handmaid’s Tale.”
EPU from last thread:
Thing is, I get Matthews on this.
Laura Ingraham is someone who the proper response is, “You’re really pretty, why are you so fucking dumb>”
TRex @ 97
And it would be deserved. I thought of that RIGHT AFTER i hit post. and then the dayam site glitched and I couldn’t kill it.
BTW, you got a double posting on this one. are our gremlins back?
punaise @ 92
and i’d like to thank all the little people.

really little.

thanks you guys!

he was a captain when he was killed. he got a posthumous and quite fake promotion. (i must make clear this is all *rumor* from my friends in the military who are still “connected” to the gossip networks. I personally have no way to verify ANY of it.)
Gee althespook, I thought I was having ER flash backs seeing double posts over and over again…
Listening to Amy singing “Teach Me Tonight” reminded me very much of Etta James. Etta has her demons, too..but what a talent!!
SnarKassandra @ 95
Sounds like a good plan. Get lots of sleep!
burnspbesq @ 108
or “A Maze of Death” by Phillip K Dick
Bummer. Apparently I’m not “cool” anymore.
I wanna be in the late night gang again so what sort of initiation/humiliation must I endure to re-gain my O.G. status?
burnspbesq @ 105
TRex @ 98
I recommend original Star Trek, if it’s on anywhere you can see it. As Ms. Redshift and I discovered a few years ago when we both had a bad flu, if you have a high enough fever, any original Star Trek episode is really funny.
TRex @ 107
Teh droll. Just for that …
althespook @ 112
hokay,ta.
may @ 116
Geez you guys! Now *I’m* going to have nightmares!
Nate @ 118
Ten rounds in a cage with TRex for starters, then cure cassie’s cold. Then we’ll talk.
Redshift @ 120
Oh yes. You can yell lines like “He’s dead Jim!” and “Fascinating” at all the appropriate moments. Like Rocky Horror with redshirts and naked alien chicks.
alright
anything by Terry Pratchett.
it’s turtles all the way down.
newtonusr @ 63
Actually, I’ve mentioned that before as a bargaining chip. A lot of these people are lawyers, so how can they possibly be such bad negotiators? They also don’t appear to be any good at p*ker or chess. They utterly trip me out! No apparent professional expertise at all!

hey Nate! big thinks in the future for Charlie Brown in CA-04?
(real sketchy internet connection
if y’all don’t hea…
Just a quick flash back to Cassie….when I would take my sick daughter to the doctor, she always told us to alternate ibu and tylenol at four-hour intervals for fever control. That way we weren’t giving her too much of one med too soon, and were agressively tackling the fever. My guess then was that they didn’t interact badly.
althespook @ 123
nate, how do you reckon you’re not cool now?
SnarKassandra @ 66
If you don’t feel better in the morning, make an appointment.
yellowdog jim @ 130
I personally think he’s cool. But if we could get some work out of him…
may @ 127
Terry Pratchett for the WIN! o/
Nate @ 117
Don’t worry, Nate, you’re still cool. Things are just a bit sluggish tonight. Probably because of Bush sapping intelligence out of the universe.
[sniff] I miss hanging with you guys.
New job’s kicking my butt. Just finished for the day, if that tells you anything.
Niters, TRex, FirePups.
althespook @ 131
there’s that.
but i missed the implication that nate’s less than perfectly cool.
and he doesn’t get to go rounds with TRex as if that’s a bad thing.
well, i mean it’s up to TRex.
This is just peachy:
Remember the israeli jet that fired on a SAM site a few days ago in syria? well, now we know what it was doing there:
Israel Says North Korea Providing Syria Nuclear Facilites.
“Hello, Minot AFB? We need another six ACM’s with the “fake” warheads please. Plus the replacements for the six you screwed up last time. And put a rush on it, will ya? Bibi and LIEberman are getting antsy again… KTHKSBAI!”

I started having flashbacks to the heady days of trying to work your way back into the clique/gang in high school after having been away for a month.
yellowdog jim @ 136
I was assuming feathers and spandex…
Good evening dear friends. Thanks for convincing Cassie to go back to bed.
Uhhh. TRex. 15. Nearly 16. She’ll find a tail to thwap you with if you suggest she’s still 14!
TexBetsy @ 145
I’m not sure whether we convinced her or chased her off, actually ;-) Sleep is probably the best thing, even above and beyond meds.
So. *peers hopefully* Any goodies for us?

Na na na na na. Repeat endlessly.
TexBetsy @ 146
Ha! I *thought* so! She must really not being feeling well if she missed that ;-)
Is it officially Bad 70s Rock Night?
Evenin’ punaise… Definitely good stuff afoot for the intrepid Charlie Brown. I’m gearing up some fun stuff for A/V work online as things get closer. Right now I spend my extra spare time collecting good web content and links etc.
I’ll have a regular weekly webcast ready to go for 08′ giving updates from the CA-04.
peanutbutter @ 149
…and we won’t mention how looped my grammar gets on sudafed o.O
Nate @ 143
Ah. I had the same problem when I came back after a couple of months hiatus. Nobody said “hi”, nobody seemed to respond to my posts, I felt hurt and rejected. So I left and vowed never to come back.
TexB, who works with me on some non-FDL stuff, grabbed me by my spookly collar and MADE me come back. I eventually realized that I was expecting too much and got over it for myself.
YMMV, of course. But I’m gathering a lot of us are sick, overworked, have relatives that are sick, or any combination of the above. That, at least for me, cuts down on the energy to post AT ALL….
Nate @ 143
ever since your semi-sloshed campaign evening live-blogging of wooing of the ladies next door, your place in the late night pantheon is assured.
Nate @ 142
i see.
i am barely keeping up with the thread.
by the time i write a comment another ton have posted, and by the time i read them …

my greetings, nate.
no snub intended.

I’m TOO MUCH MAN for TRex!
But green tea with honey, lime juice, mango and crushed mint always fixed my cold right up. (a dash of dark rum is also medicinally recommended in this situation)
TexBetsy @ 146
He was right tho, i was overdoing it. Probably because they DELETED my GMAIL acoount. I will maybe get some of it back tomorrow. They didn’t say why. I’m so thrilled I could…excrete.

Oh, y’all, Nate’s feeling needy. Everyone give him a big hug.
Helloooooooo, Nate. You’re looking awfully fiiiine this evening, Senor.
(Tell him he looks sexy. He’s a Scorpio, they live for that shizz.)
TRex @ 159
Only if he wears the spandex. I have standards. (He does look sexy, of course, but I really like spandex. Can you tell?)

We could put them on a Greyhound bus…might get a good country song out of it…
althespook @ 158
Erm. Who deleted your gmail account???

Nate @ 81

TRex @ 160
He’s right…!
I soak that shit up like a sponge when I’m feeling a bit on the outside looking in.
Hiya TRex! I figured the “too much man” for you comment might get me some attention.
Margot @ 166
no, Combat Command is grounded, Combat Air Patrol (guards the skies over the major cities) and Transport Command (moves stuff around) are up and running normally cuz THEY din lose no nukular weepons. You put them on the C130 labeled “inert training warheads” and nobody is the wiser. would have done it that way last time but all the dayam things are tied up ferrying tomahawks to the carriers…
Evening all. Just a heads-up for Late Nite and beyond.

OT and not necessarily for real, but:
New space drive could put ship on mars from earth in one week.
And if it could do that, it could propel a probe to the near stars a lot faster than we expected to have to take…once we find a planet to send it to!
althespook @ 178
Yay!
And thanks for your answer, Alfred. That had me a little worried.
punaise @ 178
Great stuff! I love classic SNL. I have a video called “The Question is Moot” that was a game show skit hosted by Jessie Jackson back in the Reagan years.
So Al, what (in your expert opinion) would be the worst vulnerability that could possibly arise from Combat Command being grounded (soon-to-be) today, Friday 9/14? Also, may I kindly ask you to compare and contrast today’s downage with the one on 9/11/2001?
Hmmm.
peanutbutter @ 183
I am not mortgaging my manly bits for a dayam phone. I don’t care how many networks it runs on. For a drive that will get us to mars in a week, I’ll through in my chapped and worn rear end as well, what the heck…
The Lurking Mod @ 172
Sweeeet!
Hmmm. @ 188
What exactly is the point of grounding them for a day?
Shorter Boosh:
Mah fella Repubicans,
Isn’t General Petraus great? He’s doing such a fantastic job that we can start bringing the troops home! We’re winning! So don’t listen to those weak-kneed, yellow-bellied Demo-Crats who want to cut and run! Stand shoulder to shoulder with your fella Repubicans and we will hold the fort until the day I leave office!

I don’t know about the standdown on the original sep 11, but this one is essentially a day of training classes with the hardware otherwise hot and ready. If anything goes down, the crews will scramble with books and papers flying. So I see no real vulnerability.

Yeah, I’ve had times when I post something really great and it gets no response at all, and if I’m not in a good mood, it bugs me. But really, it just happens, especially if there are fewer people around. It’s hard to keep more than one comment in mind to respond to, and if yours is a bit further down the list when I refresh, I’m likely to have already decided to respond to another and forget to get back to it.
(Which is exactly what happened this time, actually. I remember thinking “Hey, it’s Nate!”, but at 2am, I couldn’t hang on to that thought and whatever I was already thinking of responding to.)

Dunno about that grounding, sounds silly to me. Either the public doesn’t know and doesn’t care or the few of us that know aren’t going to be at all impressed the slightest by a standown so the point…still eludes me.

althespook @ 225
Oh, there are definitely differences. This is an extreme example, but if you were given a Coors Light and a Pilsner Urquell in succession while blindfolded, you would absolutely notice the difference.
Cascade is the best beer I’ve ever had. It’s made by a tiny brewerly in Tasmania, and has very limited distribution even within Australia. I’ve never been able to get any in the states.
althespook @ 227
Would I fun with ya AL? Well, OK, yes I would but not about alcohol. I recall those names from my sordid past. Never drank em, much too costly but I could usually read the cocktail list on the wall, at least until my eyes got drunk.
burnspbesq @ 230
I understand that. My favorite wines are from small vineyards, most of which we found on our travels (we looked for them, which was quite the job in the centuries before the Internet). One or two are literally people’s oversized back yards, with only a few bottles a year besides their own use. But they are the best…the ones you don’t open except to celebrate the birth of the new grandkid…
althespook @ 228
Those are actual drinks. Drinks of that sort tend to be popular in the kind of bars where divorced middle-aged men with money go trolling for trophy wives not much older than their daughters. Or so I’m told …

Ah. I rarely drank in public places, usually prefered to get tipsy (never drunk due to my eye condition) with company, often over cards or good food, and later movies once videotape was available….
…yes virginnia, there was a time when you couldn’t record television. or buy a prerecorded tape. I got my first recorder in the early 1970’s, and promptly filled many expensive cassettes with….

Good. I hope she printed out all the great responses to her questions earlier today about how to select a college/university. They will come in handy. My niece in Wisconsin chose Swarthmore, but she was enormously aided in her search by her parents, who gave her room to roam, helping arrange transportation (mostly taking long trips with her) so she could visit all of the campuses and talk to faculty and students in advance, with or without her parents. You can read all the college catalogs you want, but nothing beats having your boots on the ground (oops– not meaning to mix metaphors or anything!) At the start of her search, Swarthmore was not very high on my niece’s list.
Anyway, here’s hoping for Cassie’s swift recovery

The problem with Syria is that it may be right. North Korea rolled over awfully quickly for the IAEA and the US Nuke people. I suspected something fishy at the time. One possible explanation is that KJI realized he had to ditch the nukes to survive, so he sold all his nuclear materials to the highest bidder. Syria would LOVE to join the nuclear club, and they have the money to do it (mainly due to contraband running into iraq, another lovely side effect of our occupation there…)

Think of it. Imagine your Eden. The place of your wildest dreams. You find it, and you are beside yourself with joy, so naturally you have to phone your best friend about it. Your best friend comes, and joy multiplies. But… before long, the word gets around and all of a sudden your Eden now has a million people.
Or what if you arrive at Eden… a little late. After a million people before you have already found it.
With a million people, is it still Eden?

Hey Mark,
I grew up on the early 80s reruns of ST: the original series as a kidlet. They didn’t start TNG until i was near my teens. So know what ‘He’s dead, Jim!’ means. :P
That and my mom took me to quite a few of the movies in the 80s too. I think i watched a bit of every series except Enterprise. Couldn’t quite get interested in that. But then, i’ had Stargate:Atlantis and its Grade A Snark to distract me.

A quick drive-by good morning to all those ‘pups on the dawn patrol. Have a good day, and be careful out there.
Good Morning Firepups,
It’s overcast and cool this morning in central Jersey, with rain coming tonight. Couldn’t bear to watch the video clip of Bush’s speech, but did like the purchased time speech by Edwards. He really issued a challenge to the Dems in Congress to stand up and stop the war. My gut tells me they don’t have the spines to do it, but my heart still hopes they’ll evolve quickly into vertebrates. (I told Mr. NJP over dinner last night that we have two chambers filled with banana slugs.)
Got to do some chores before a busy day at work, so I can’t hang out here at the ‘Lake. There’s a fresh pot of coffee, and some hot water for tea. I just took the cinnamon swirl tea loaf out of the oven. Help yourselves.
Work for peace, every day.
Good morning from a rainy blue Ridge Ga!
Didn’t watch the wretched speech, but the text is a compilation of phony excuses and bad rationalizations by a delusional zealot…
Good Morning!
At least more people can see the Chimperor is wearing no clothes. I just wish the Democrats would point this out to him!
And I’m rained out of work. Power keeps going out (for up to 5 secs..)
Elliott, I keep thinking the DC Dems are still suffering from a case of Stockholm Syndrome, and if they only see the DC/MSM view of stuff, no wonder..
Good morning!
MR. Bill, wonder no more. People that live here in Washington tend to think of the rest of the people in the country as out there in some lesser, unfortunate place.
Your representatives need to hear from YOU. Phone calls anyone? Even better, local office visits?

The Air Force is under total stand-down conditions today across the nation.
The last time a part of the government totally stood down was NORAD on 9/11, under the control of Cheney.
This was the first time a civilian was ever in charge of NORAD, as told by Norm Mineta to the 9/11 Commission.
He was fired the next day for having told the truth.

Last night, Chris Matthews went way out of his way to discuss a potential dirty bomb attack inside the US.
If it happens today – Cheney did it.

Waccamaw – Hang in there! Bush is going down!
This weekend, we’ll see how many R defectors he sent our way last night. Right now, I’m counting Collins and Coleman with us.
The Goopers who want to be re-elected have very little time left to choose either their seat, or Bush.
Last night’s speech was an insult to all Americans. Bush said he was going to keep the Troops in Iraq as long as he could, with no definable mission, because he said so.
Sooner, or later, the Goopers will wake-up and see that this is only stubborn childishness on Bush’s part, designed to keep him from confessing to his mistakes.
