If you can’t trust an administration with the keys to the treasury, you can’t trust them with anything. The answer to any request by this administration should be met with, “hey, where’s that nine billion dollars?” Like this:

“Hey, I need 50 bil for my occupation.”

“50? What did you do with the 9 bil from before? Do you have some receipts?”

or

“Confirm my new attorney general.”

“Confirm where that missing 9 billion went, and we’ll talk.”

Why the Dems aren’t talking about that missing money all the time–damned lose and spend Republicans!–mystifies me.

I’d say the criminals need to be caught and punished, but that paradigm just doesn’t seem to fit.

We need to spend a lot of time educating the public about what has happened and let the punishment be a combination of political banishment and traditional criminal punishment with requirement for them to return stolen monies (not that they would). Beyond that it’s gonna be hard to track down stolen monies that were in hard cash. Devaluing the dollar would be crazy since it’s already plummeting (now at the historical low relative to the Euro) and that would hurt Americans.

It’s a conundrum: how to punish someone (or the Bush mafia) without harming others.

I think that if Fallon speaks before Congress, it will be a memorable event. This guy is no-nonsense (”Old School” is the term the military uses) and he is not interested in bombing everything in sight! Plus, he would truly stand up and speak his mind with a passion that has not been seen. I hope it happens, personally!

Investigators have asked the White House for more emails.

According to the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call, House Government Oversight Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) expects to receive emails and other documents from the White House regarding the Jack Abramoff bribery scandal in the next few days.
