The surge CANNOT be sustained past March- no matter what- so there is no debate possible about that either.

As long as it is going on- it gives Bush something to point to. After March- he will lose his “Ace in the hole” but he will have gained 15 months with it…

If you evaluate the “surge” in terms of it’s TRUE purpose, to buy time, it was a GREAT success.

In this language, John McCain is always a “maverick”, John Warner always supports the troops, John Edwards is always “boyish”, Hillary is always “more experienced”, Rudi is always “something 9/11″.
