whats a catchy name for publicly disrespecting neo-cons?

Well “Neo-Condescending” popped into my mind, but I’m sure we can do better.

Richmond @ 62

Biodun @ 17

The list of “scholars” at the Manhattan Institute speaks volumes. And I also think you’ll get a kick out of the list of Judy’s areas of, hm, “expertise.”

As I noted yesterday, the name Manhattan Institute is reminiscent of the Manhattan Project which figured in the creation of the Nuclear Bomb. If you look closely at the people involved and positions taken, you will see that in addition to “thinking” they are doing alot to advocate the bombing (nuclear?) of Iran. This is a very dangerous group indeed. And, it shows Miller’s true colors, and along way back. The Isr*el links of Miller and others are particularly said in terms of what some people in this great culture have come represent and promote.Shame is all I can say. Ideology and stupidity above country (U.S.) and thoughtful (and intellectual) engagement of the issues. Shame again.

I’m not really an expert, but I think maybe the name comes from the fact that MI is based out of Manhattan, New York? Could make sense.

I couldn’t agree more.
If I remember my macroeconomics correctly: C I G (X-M)…
And each of these is going down.
Not to mention the fact that half a trillion has been pissed away in a war of aggression against a sovereign nation.
A couple million is no big deal, but half a trillion?

mc @ 77

The first waves of the mortgage industry crisis come lapping at the economy’s edge…

http://www.washingtonpost.com/.....id=topnews

“The U.S. economy shed 4,000 jobs in August, as layoffs in the mortgage and construction industries combined with the slide in manufacturing employment to produce the first such monthly decline in four years.

The report upended expectations of continued job growth and added to evidence of a slowing American economy. Indeed, the pace of job creation in the previous two months was revised downward by 81,000 jobs.

(snip)

“We did not expect a report as awful as this,” said Ian Shepherdson, chief U.S. economist with the High Frequency Economics consulting firm.

Weak job growth, Shepherdson predicted, would prompt members of the Federal Reserve to reduce interest rates when they meet on Sept. 18 — a step anticipated as problems mounted this summer in world credit markets.”

As I’ve said before, based on both technical and fundamentals, the DOW will see 12000 again before it sees 14000.

Near support is at 13000 the next point after that, once it’s been broken, is 12000.

Cavuto can crow all he wants and Larry Kudlow can praise this regime to the heavens…..we are in serious economic shit and they have hidden all the numbers from the public.

Sure would be nice to know what M-3 is nowadays with all these bailouts looming in the subprime and banking sector.

Why is it whenever there’s a Republican in the WH lately the banks and financial scams start happening again and we have to use our money, after bags and bags of it have been given away, to rescue these bastards?

Judy might not be such a hot ticket in NYC, as the place is chock full of younger and, I daresay, more attractive women for military guys and policy makers to dally with.

Being Hot Stuff while embedded in Iraq has no correlation to real competition.

“You girls are just ONE plane ticket away from being ugly again!” - Bob Hope in Diego Garcia USO show.

Perhaps off topic but the front page of the NYT showed Ms. Rice in a silver coat with high heels walking behind Bush in the the Iraq sand/war zone. Rice’s heels were digging in and she apparently had trouble walking in the sand/ war zone in her high heels. These are the people that Judy talks to.

Yikes! That pic!
I used to work for someone with the same eyes.
Not unlike working for the demon in “the Excorcist”.
Took a year for the nightmares to stop.
Same cold disregard for integrity, truth, and humanity.
So many more like this one shaping policy at so many levels.
Folks like us will turn it around, and it will take a long time.

Thanks to FDL for the dose of sanity!
