You’ve seen what he’s like when he’s mad. He stamps his little feet and starts talking all snippy and bitchy. I’ve seen ten year old girls who were more intimidating when piqued.
None of them have ever worn the uniform of this country. Their idea of “sport” is to get blind on whiskey sours and go shoot at a bunch of farm-raised birds on private land, but with a full Level One trauma team standing by, of course.
How many more of them will have to get arrested soliciting sex in public toilets before people finally cop to the fact that Republicans are a bunch of nasty old wealthy queens who cheat on their wives with other men and who can’t under any circumstances be trusted around teenage boys?

My daughter, from whom I learned the forbidden dromedary term, absolutely loved the circus entertainer conveyance term. (was that vague enough, Al?) She took the term back to school with her. I love that she thinks I’m kinda “hip”.
Yes–mugs, t-shirts, bumper stickers, etc. We signed up with them, reluctantly, back in 2003 when some people wanted the designs Demetrius made for the Dean campaign on bumper stickers, but didn’t want to print their own. During that time period we didn’t even mark the items up to make a profit.
Once we realized that we *needed* any income source we could get, that changed. And over time we started doing a whole range of nonpolitical stuff. Much of it involving one of our cats. Demetrius only recently took a new picture of the bird, specifically to do the “white and birdy” gag. He had just attended a Weird Al concert with Daughter in Ohio.

My goal is to identify the buying of Bush’s base. In this JAMA story, three quarters of addiction programs were identified as faith-based in Puerto Rico.
The story gives a short explanation of how medically based addiction programs closed and faith-based programs appeared.
In case you don’t go to the link, here’s its conclusion:
Despite their frequent lack of medication and clinical staff, faith-based ministries continue to thrive as a main option for drug addiction treatment, in part due to policies the Puerto Rican government has pursued in the last decade. Starting in 1994 the government began privatizing the health care system, causing most public addiction treatment programs and mental health centers to close.15 This compounded an existent problem of diminishing funds for drug abuse recovery in Puerto Rico, which has fewer subsidies for addiction treatment than any of the 50 US states.16 Residential programs that these ministries administer are actually underenrolled, while partial hospital and methadone maintenance programs are often overenrolled.6 This suggests that, despite continued growth in faith-based initiatives for addiction treatment, current levels still do not meet treatment demand.
Funding/Support: Dr Hansen received funding for this research from an NIH MSTP training grant (GM07205), from the Social Science Research Council, and from Yale University’s Center for International and Area Studies, Yale Council on Latin American Studies, and Yale’s John Perry Miller Fund.
