OT from the NY Times, Senator Dodd’s offices burglarized. Undisclosed items taken AND evidence left at scene.

Tinfoil hat: I wouldn’t put it past Rove to do that, leaving evidence that is seen to implicate one of the Dem front runners (whomever he considers most viable).

I try to avoid getting so far into the other guy’s head that I would think up something like that. Is it dark and icky in there?

Still, you might be right.

I’d also suggest that Dem candidates should increase security.

I suggest Patrick Fitzgerald as the AG replacement. Perhaps the Dems should suggest him as someone who would get an assured approval.

The possibilities of Olsen or Clement: Clement I don’t know, but as Asst. AG he’s obviously experienced and probably up to the technical aspect of the job. Olsen I’ve seen in action and I was impressed. I know he’s political, but he’s also a very good lawyer.

So, those guys would seem to be better choices than Chertoff or Hatch or others.

Bush wants to nominate Chertoff, Mr I can’t account for 22.3 Billion Dollars from the Homeland Security Budget…

If you want to account for the missing $Billions$ (whether from DHS, Iraq or elswhere) start looking at the recent rash of corporate acquisitions by “private equity” groups. $7.4 Billion to buy Chrysler doesn’t just magically appear out of thin air, for example.
