Off to bed, the Hillary story is a riff on the old it’s always good for the Republicans. If there is no terrorist attack, then they have successfully shown they could protect the country. If there is a terrorist attack, then voters will turn to them because they are strong on security. You would think that Hillary would have gotten wise to this scam but apparently not.

The Republicans are frantically building lots of boxes for Democrats to run around in, and I think Hillary is showing she might be happy to do that. To my way of thinking Obama has already shown that.

I don’t know if Edwards is smarter, but he seems to have a different world view which is better.

It’s not really fair or realistic of us to know the Dem politicians are hearing the constant stream of goo the Republicans put out and to still expect them to not incorporate some of that in their thinking. We are all, to some extent, responding to our environment.

We just keep looking for the best candidate and in time it becomes more and more apparent.

But, the candidates aren’t just one-dimensional. It isn’t just the anti-Iraq-War policy they’re proposing. Don’t Progressives stand for a lot of other things too?

Show leadership in getting us back on track to find and fight the people who attacked us on 9/11 while rebuilding good relationships internationally and improving world trade agreements to make them more fair and safe. Parallel to that, work on health care reform, infrastructure refurbishments and a whole lot of other domestic things.

Progressives are multi-dimensional thinkers.

It’s easy, but would be ineffective.

For one, it wouldn’t actually force the hand of King Bush.

Second, the Republicans would beat us with it like step children they hate.

Most presidents respond to losing their public approval rating. This one isn’t, so we need a more massive Congressional advantage (to impeach and convict) or we need to simply replace the president (next election), whichever can be done first.

I say we should get rid of AG Gonzales…make a show of it for the public. Then, if the iron is hot, go after Veep Cheney…again a show to convince the public of what is going on. That ought to help in a big national way to bring the public around. Aside from that we could use targeted campaigns (mostly t.v. ads I suppose) for the states where Republicans might be convinced to come around to support removal of Bush & Co. to avoid their own upcoming election loss.

Effectiveness is more important than showy entertainment. Soldier’s lives are on the line.

I’m sure she’s quite wise to it. That’s why she’s saying now (with an aluminum (not tin) foil hat?) not to fall in with republican crowd if there is a terrorist attach on Nov. 1, 2008.
