At the risk of “teaching your grandmother to suck eggs” may I suggest:

1. have an agenda of talking points and stick to it
2. carry a display book with multiple copies of
3. fact sheets to support each point

Then, when you get the “So what? “hit em in black&white!

Like (off the top of my head) SAIC got a no-bid contract to design a supercomputer for NSA, $280 million. At the end of their contract term, they had nothing. No penalty, indeed, they received a government subsidy. At that point in time had something like 900 government contracts outstanding.

Shortly thereafter, they got another no-bid contract for essentially the same project at around $340 million. (No idea of the outcome … )

As I say to my daughter-in-law in ummm, conflict with my son about household budget and so on … “Talk is cheap” and easy to forget in the heat of ‘discussion’. But when you print out the monthly household expenses and plonk it on the fridge, not so easy to forget.

Of course, there’s also the psychophysiological aspect: women are multi-tasking and the communication skills ARE different.

The linguist Suzette Haden Elgin’s 1980 classic, “The Gentle Art of Verbal Self Defence” is also recommended reading.

the song and video are great, but didn;t Hastert already throw himself out?

could we get other campaigns around the country to use this song, just inserting the name of whatever local Repug candidate we are running against?

Loo Hoo & demi:

You both rock! Thanks for the story and it’s quite stunning: these critters really seem to need an education “by the people for the people” huh.

So then the chioce is Clinton or Obama? Or both on the same ticket. That’s a swell DLC choice.

Too pessimistic for my tuesday — I’m visualizing the headline:

HRC: I’m not a supporter in the primaries. She has been quite impressive in the debates, I’ll have to say. Although I won’t vote for her in the primary, I’ll reluctantly vote for her in the general if she has the nomination.

Bleh. All window dressing. Her words are hollow and tuned by consultants to ring the right bells. Totally devoid of affect. Totally devoid of human-ness. Totally devoid of any love or loyalty to the Constitution. She is one of the majority of Congresscreatures that see the oath to uphold and defend the Constitution as a mere hazing ritual one must get through to get the big stuff.

Rights are a luxury for the little people, to be magnanimously given when it wont hurt the pocketbook or pundit-written legacy.

Who has it right? Edwards, Kucinich, Obama or HRC. Of course we know who has the largest campaign war chest. Frankly, I like the trial lawyer and Dennis. And then there’s Gore.

Here’s why I won’t vote for Gore: The election of 2000 in which the Supreme Court unconstitutionally meddled and appointed this current idiot president was conceded by Gore without a fight after that disgraceful decision because he was afraid of causing a “constitutional crisis.” At least we still had a constitution back then and there was an immediacy and anger among Democrats that could have been tapped into that might have saved us from the 3500 deaths of Americans in Iraq and possibly a portion of the 2000 here in the US on 11 September 2001.

Mr. Gore did not have the cajones then and I don’t care how presidential and diplomatic and noble he appears to be now. He choked when it counted and this country has been paying for his failure to act ever since.

I will not support a Gore nomination.

I could not agree more. I will not vote for Gore. I will not vote for Hillary. If the Dems don’t put up Edwards, I will have to hope that he runs as an Indy.

Just skimming by as usual lately, but that talk w/ Issa’s staffer made my blood boil.
I doubt that I could have been civil with such responses. Congrats to LooHoo and demi for pulling it off.
But, it does give me some ideas about dropping by Lamar Smith’s, or even Cornyn’s offices….hmmm. Must we really stay civil?????
