the situation is a circle jerk: when “Those Who Matter” need a certain conclusion, they solicit the “people of august opinion” who will give them the correct answer. And the “people of august opinion” being in desperate need of feeling important are more than happy to give them any answer they desire – the resulting attention and renumeration from delivering the correct responses are more than their nonexistent souls could ever fight off, regardless of the dishonesty involved or catastrophic consequences.

It is no surprise that there are no long lines forming for the brand of democracy the US is exporting.

Thank you for posting this nasty piece of Kissinger history. Two years later he plans the annexation of East Timor upon their getting their independence from the Portuguese. This was not about disliking the way the election went and there was no communist threat about. It was for the oil.

I’ve never heard remorse in his voice for anything he did.

I’ve never heard an inflection in his voice.
The man has a voice like the sound of the grinding of souls. It’s now getting higher pitched as he reaches his old-manhood. That is the only difference in his voice I’ve heard since the 60s.

HAHAHAHA! That’s so true. Good observation - grinding of souls. It’s hard to get a laugh out of such a dark subject as Kissinger.
