Funny thing but the first new reports I’d read about the mine disaster was that, while this mining company had a spotty safety record with various facilities, the one in Utah had very good safety ratings.

Then again, the federal mine safety commission is also packed with Bush appointees. We found that out during the WV mine accident last year that killed 12.

Bottom line is this: workers need to look out for themselves, because the slave owners for whom they work really don’t give a shit about any of us. Please, no replies from those whose worst occupation hazard is a paper cut or facing an empty coffee pot in the lunch room.

An elitist east coast publisher vs. a self-made conservative who has made his billions kicking the ass of self-centered trust fund babies. It will get ugly for the Times.

When Fox news slimes a populist they all sit around the bar at night and admit they did a hit peice on behalf of their owner.

When the Times slimes a populist they think they’re upholding the civility of the country and speaking truth to power.

I’d rather the first than the later.

My thought exactly (although we are trying to minimize use of the F word @ our house as the college sophomore resorts to it a bit too often).

Folks at the very top seem often numbed to the concerns of those below them, especially those with a blue collar.
