The Dow is a thermometer that is telling us we are sick and unstable. The symptoms of the disease are incompetence at directing a disaster recovery, the inability to fix the plumbing (so to speak) on our roadways. And the inability or unwillingness to tell the truth when something does go wrong. Oh, because there might be some liability, someone might find out. and it is better that a Nation dwell in unbelief rather than someone tell the truth. Well, I am sick of it.

I want someone to change the channel. But only I can do that.

If they vote down the McConnell bill in the House, Bush is foooked. If they vote for the McConnell language..we are foooked…for now. We have to wait and see. If our Dems go with Bush, we will know, once and for all, whose side they are on. We will prevail ultimately. We have to stick together. I still believe that no matter how many calls we make, we cannot overcome the lobbyist factors for any bill.

the things is.. the Rs may only need a few Ds to cross over – it all depends on the rule. if the dems cave, i expect it will be via the rule. they can provide a rule that requires only a simple majority (unlike last night). then the bill passes with Rs votes and a very few D votes. most of the Ds can vote no and pretend that they are not responsible – although they are because of the rule.

major kabuki potential here.
