I don’t think Pelosi is working behind the scenes to build an impeachment case. I truly believe that her commnets are an honest reflection of her thoughts on the matter.

Nancy Pelosi and the rest of the dems ran on domestic agenda issues. We elected them to send them a message that we wanted change an oversight.

What’s going to be in the Specter “administration clarification” letter?

I’m thinking Bush will say he “directed” Gonzales to say what he said, in order to protect national security, and that the matter cannot be discussed for that very reason. Then he’ll say that Gonzo is preemptively pardoned and cannot be impeached.

Is that a possibility?

He might pardon Gonzales and that’s fine. But, it doesn’t stop Congress from impeaching him and tossing his pardoned butt out on the street.

I’d like to see Gonzales kicked out and then we move on to either Rove or Cheney. Bush ought to be made to feel permanent pressure while opponents rip his administration to shreds. If he won’t see reason, then a little force might ‘persuade’ him it’s time to leave Iraq.

If he doesn’t see ‘reason’, then his own impeachment ought to begin early next year, regardless of what Nancy said. We simply cannot let Congressional Bush Republicans get away with supporting this traitorous anti-Constitutional behavior from the Executive.

I simply must share this response I just received from my “Senator”. She is replying to a scathing letter I wrote to her after she defended W’s commutation of Scooter’s Prison sentence. How is this for a nonresponsive response?

I got that as well. Most have been the standard response to all the folks saying WTF.

You just have to write back and ask her how PRECISELY she has defended the Constitution when President Bush lied us into war in Iraq, spied on American citizens without FISA approval, illegally detained US citizens, denied them their Constitutional habeas corpus rights and tortured them for years before releasing them?

Please can we try to be fair?

The “long memory” thing is something at which we badly need to be good. And persistent. And vocal.

We can’t afford to let the warpimps run their bullshit about:

Once you impeach Gonzo you crack open the stonewall and the backed up sewer pipe garbage that spews forth will take down a god awful lot before it, likely including some powerful Dems. Others have commented that there may be some blackmail hanging over some key Dem heads that keeps them in check. I don’t know. But I wouldn’t be surprised. There’s something awful backed up behind that stonewall and when it busts loose the sh*t that flows out will be color blind and as likely to dirty someone in blue as in red.

My take? God we need that impeachment. Time to flush the pipes.

If I were a Republican wanting the Dems to lose the next Pres election I’d get Hillary in as the Dem nominee. I’m a rabid liberal, but have rabid Repub friends who froth at the mouth at the idea of Hillary. If you want to drag out every single Repub vote run Hillary for Pres.

And in my rabid liberal mind Hillary was either dupped or politicized into the Iraq vote and we CAN NOT have as pres of the US someone who can be that easily dupped or politicized. I don’t care how smooth and powerful and a woman she is. She voted for our country to go kill people in a war. Lots of black women like Rice because she’s a black woman. Lots of hispanics are proud of Gonzo because he’s hispanic. Let’s not push Hillary just because she’s a powerful woman and, gosh, darn, how neato wonderful it will be to have a woman pres.

The dem contender who would thrive best in the monarchy Bush created, and would resist tearing it down, is Hillary.

So, if you want to max out the Repub vote and minimize the Dem vote run Hillary.

I cant even think about cake. Its been a busy week here, with my wife, brother, sister, and me all celebrating our birthdays. I’m all caked out. :)

Let’s think about this-

Congress (and Clusterfuck) are about ta take their August vacations. They’ll be back in September at which time the Iraq debate will start in earnest- by the time that’s all over- it will be time for the holiday break- after the holiday break, if dems start impeachment proceedings, americans are gonna say “Hey we’re gettin rid of his sorry ass anyway at the end of the year- why in the hell would you waste your time in an attempt to kick him out that you know damned well doesn’t have a chance in hell of succeeding- what are ya STOOPID!”

I put the odds of impeachment for Clusterfuck about the same as the odds for the sun not rising tomorrow.

Gonzo’s a different matter- get HIS sorry ass!!
