What wonderful people here…
N=1, if you’re still here, I am reminded of a woman I met @ a local poetry class. She came from Germany during WWII as a young girl to New York. She walked the streets of the city looking for work every day, but couldn’t find a job because in her case, she couldn’t speak English. One day, she came back home and lay down. At that point she was at the end of her rope and wanted to die. Well, she told me at that moment her whole being was filled with light and she was completely transported by that experience. She turned out fine.

Well, I suppose the light is manifesting in a different way through Selise and RevDev and all those here at the Lake…best wishes to you.

Did you know that we’re deeply committed to an
American defeat in Iraq?
That’s what Newt says.

If we’re gonna try to win the War against the people who attacked us on 9/11, then we can’t afford to be so small minded. We have to stop worrying about individual battles that don’t contribute to winning the war and focus on where the enemy REALLY is.

So far the most destructive thing facing America is the Bush administration and their Conservative Bush Republican supporters in the Senate.

I second the suggestion to look into YWCAs, both in Boston and in NYC — they often have temporary shelter for women. You might also find out if there is a Catholic Worker house in Boston — I know the one here in Albany (Emmaus House) takes in families and helps them relocate.

We’ll all be playing whack a weasel for decades:

1. “Saudi prince received [hidden]arms cash”
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6728773.stm

“… The UK’s biggest arms dealer, BAE Systems, paid hundreds of millions of pounds to the ex-Saudi ambassador to the US, Prince Bandar bin Sultan since the 80’s.

2. UK’s Atty Gen. and Blair say: “what cash?”
“…Payments were sent to two accounts in Washington.”
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/6732921.stm

3. http://dissidentnews.wordpress.....orruption/
(Follow the BAE dots to the Pentagon)

4. “US ‘plans huge Saudi arms deal’
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/6920458.stm

…”Reminding the United States that Saudi Arabia remains formally at war with Israel, the Israeli Cabinet said it would make an issue of the sale, raising the possibility of some sharp questions for President Bush during the presidential campaign.

6. “To counter objections by Israel and its supporters in Congress, the officials said the Jewish state would be offered significantly increased military aid.

7. “Israel voices ’satisfaction’ over [military] aid increase”
http://www.reuters.com/article/topNews/idUSL293167

Lets all ask Steny Hoyer and Joe Lieberman to make sure we don’t give the Saudi’s more cluster bombs than Israel.
They’re our bestest friends after all.

But I’m more worried about the homefront:

“Fears of fresh stock market falls”

The Dow had its biggest weekly fall since March 2003 after banks involved in big buyouts failed to find buyers for $20bn.
…hit by the rising level of defaults in the sub-prime mortgage market.
…interest rates are rising and set to stay higher as central banks try to rein in inflation.

A large part of the rise in share prices in the past year has been driven by the takeover boom, with private equity bidders pushing up the value of the firms they are targeting.

The American people, Right and Left, will continue to suffer greatly from the infected seed sown by our politicians.

That’s why everyone despises Congress.
