Maura works for Jim’s campaign. If the rest of his staff and volunteers are as good as she is, he’ll win this race easily. I deal with staffers of candidates and congressmembers all day long. Almost none are as effective and efficient as Maura.

Aw, Howie, you’re very kind! And Redshift, great to see you here — I miss you all in Virginia! You’re lucky to have Jane join your crew of fighting Virginia Democrats!

I was lucky to get to know Jim Himes when I headed Ned Lamont’s 4th CD operation — I witnessed Jim’s leadership, his forthright honesty (which you all saw here today), and his eagerness to work for real change. When Jim told me early this year that he was considering a run for Congress, I knew we were in for a great race here in CT-04. And as a local blogger, I’m thrilled at Jim’s eagerness to reach out and have meaningful conversations with voters online.

Next week, we have Russ Warner, the Democrat who is taking on alleged GOP closet queen and absolute rubber stamp David Dreier here in L.A. That will be a fun one for me to write about. Same place, same station. If anyone has any photos of Dreier doing anything funny, pleased e-mail me.

Jim, thanks for stopping by and answering our questions today. Your diligence and thoroughnesss will serve the country well when you’re in Congress in January of 2009.
