What’s the difference between a clash between branches of govt and a constitutional crisis?

A clash between branches of government is — or should be — a sign that the system is working. They’re essentially designed to be adversaries.

A Constitutional crisis is what happens when one branch expands its powers in such a way that it takes extraordinary measures by one or both of the other branches to restore balance.

2. Regardless of whether GWB’s frivolous privilege claims have any merit, Miers (and Bolten?) did not bother to assert it. Instead, she (they?) chose to ignore a lawful subpoena. Republican stonewallers can try to blow smoke up our asses all day long, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is an open and shut case. Either you support the rule of law and thus contempt charges, or you’re a republican debating this today. It’s that simple.

I sent my money to FDL again today. Will be sending to ActBlue going forward. Would appreciate a comment — based on effectiveness — what is better:
1- supporting the flow of information or
2- the campaigns of replacements.

Agree with Bluetoe@139. The thugs must be scared shitless to pull out this stuff. I think they are afraid because Rove has stuff on them, and if they don’t bend over, he will drop it on them in the primaries. We are dealing with criminals in the White House. There are no holds barred with them.

No one need “have stuff” on them. They’re hired hands. You’re making the mistake of believing the trappings of power these supposed representatives of the people have are equivalent to real power.

There are all felons..Rove could have his DOJ send them to prison..a bigger threat than loosing an election.

There are plenty of Republican criminals and accomplices in Congress as well.
